Grand Mercure Rio de Janeiro Copacabana

Staff were a dream. The location was incredible for copacabana near station 5 on the beach. Breakfast was top also. Assisted with a late checkout although we checked out normal time they held our bags and provided a place for us to change and shower. Little tip 18th floor is a gym(not where we were staying but there's direct access) views from their is incredible. Also great having the chairs access on the beach those people there really made us feel great.

I bought a side sea ocan view which whilst I cannot fault it on being exactly that in honestly in the room were were in 942 the real view is of the apartment building directly opposite. You can see the sea from the room I just hesitates as to whether i would wadvice others to shell out the additional for the view more my fault than the hotel's. Don't worry about the room with the view get out of your hotel room.

Great location right on the Copacabana and really friendly and helpful staff. Booked tours for us, upgraded our room and gave us early check in which was welcomed after a long flight. Great breakfast choices in the morning, well worth choosing this option. They had a section on the beach where hotel staff would provide you with a chair and umbrella

Being refurbished at the moment but no bar or pool which was a drawback but theres plenty of bars and cafes outside the door and you've the best beach in the world so why do you need a pool!

The staff were friendly at first we were put in a disabled room the manager soon changed to another room. The location was excellent. It was very very safe there. Shops nearby supermarket around the corner coffee shop next door. Hotel very clean. Good breakfast different opinions. Helpful staff with trips and backs. Enjoyed the stay. Felipe and his team

We were unable to book in early so had book an extra night about 18 hours of that first day we were actually on a plane. I would like to have thought they could accommidate an early check as we were there 6 nights. Apart from that all good

the property was really clean, the lobby smells pretty good. The staff are awesome they helped me to find a driver to show us the city around because we didn’t want to do entire tour with a agency. The gym is really big size but there’s no towels in there. Breakfast is excellent. The beach service was pretty good and convenient.

I think they should have microwave in the room, I asked to warm some food for my boyfriend that wasn’t feeling good it was late night like around 11:00 pm and the staff told me they couldn’t do that, they just can warm bottle for kids. The hallway are really hot since they don’t have air conditioning, just inside the room. I also think they have a ice machine in each floor. Nothing that would ruined our vacation.

We enjoyed our stay here. The check-in was better than the checkout in our experience. Hotel is walking distance to beach, supermarkets, pharmacies, or restaurants. We felt safe at all times. The hotel has a small standing up reception desk. The receptionists stay there long hours. We think the hotel should provide better work conditions to the receptionists there. Something bigger with chairs. We were happy to receive the option of beach towels and thought that was a very nice gesture from the hotel to avoid people using the hotel towels for the beach.

The miss communication with the hotel staff. They received my lost luggage from the airport when I was out, but when I went to the hotel before heading to the airport to claim my luggage, no one told me the luggage was already at the hotel. I could have saved myself a few hours dealing with this and money going back and forth to the airport to solve something that was already solved.

Amazing location, comfortable rooms, nice gym and sauna, great breakfast (which was included in the price). We came for Carnival and had an amazing stay.

Even though I knew the pool and bar would be closed for renovations, it was really inconvenient not having a pool. I understand renovations are necessary but not during a time like carnival - I feel that this could have been done out of season.

It was a great , and yummy buffet breakfast with all diverse options and juices, cheeses, omelette station, etc, Great, very helpful staff especially Dylan the concierge guy, and basically all of them. Special thanks for getting back to us the extremely overcharged Yellow taxi driver’s con payment : the 400 Reais !!! Good air conditioned spacious room,

The only thing should be fixed long ago is THE GYM AIRCON !!!

Perfect Location on Copacabana. Very kind and professional staff. I got a room with a building view while I booked a part sea view but they upgraded me to a much better room as per the picture. I really appreciated the gesture. The gym is big and nice.

The breakfast is so so.. I was hoping more choices and better qualities of products. I didn’t know while I booked but there is no swimming pool actually, so be careful about it if you really wants one.

Room quality was acceptable. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff ( even though two of them were not as friendly as the others). The location was perfect to walk around. Close to local shops.

I am aware of that everybody can't be as good as the others. 2 of the staff were not as friendly as the others. Key to my room gave me a big hassle as I needed to go to the reception quite a few times to change / charge my room key (card). Wi-fi wasn't reliable to use.

Great location (very short walk to Copacabana beachfront near Posto 5, also plenty of restaurants, bars and shops around). Very clean and organized. Spacious and comfortable rooms, also very quiet. All staff were kind and helpful at all times. Good breakfast included w/ good variety. They provide beach towels and also partner with a stand providing free chairs and umbrellas.

A/C in the room was slightly noisy and could use repairs - very minor issue though.
