The hotel is ideally located with the No 1 tram stopping right outside and just 5 stops away from the rail station. Most of the attractions are within 10-15 mins walk, including plenty of bars and restaurants. We were allocated a large room (double + single bed), possibly for disabled persons, staying for 5 nights and so this review will reflect that. The room (on the 3rd floor) was fine for our purposes. The bed was comfortable and we had no problems sleeping. The TV was small, but adequate with a large range of international channels. We had no issues with the large bathroom which had a decent shower with good lighting. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range. Staff were very helpful.

Only a few minor points: We did miss the lack of in-room tea/coffee facilities and with hindsight, if a similar hotel had these facilities it may have affected our decision. There was also no safe in the room and so we had to keep valuable with us during our stay. Despite that, we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend it for anyone visiting Gent for a few days.

Good car parking, Easy check in, room typical Ibis, helpful staff ( Jens in particular ). Great bar, plenty of choice at breakfast. Close to restaurants.

Not easy to find, as zoned areas with fines for entering at certain times.

Good location for sightseeing and easy to get to. The tram from the station goes from platform 1 under the Vlaamse overheid building, which is a short walk to your left as you stand outside the station and the journey takes about 18 mins, it stops right outside the hotel, Gent Savaanstraat is the stop you want. We were given the disabled room which was more spacious than the standard rooms, even though we didn’t need the disabled facilities. It was also very quiet being at the rear of the property. Pleasant and comfortable seating area near the bar which was open throughout the day and evening. The staff were very pleasant and friendly.

Nothing to dislike about the property

Great location, in a lively neighborhood with several great restaurants in the street and the tram stop (line nr 1) just in front of the hotel was very convenient. I had a very quiet room and slept very well ( comfy beds).

Wifi did not function during the 3 days I was there. When I mentioned this at check in, the response I got was that it was “being fixed”, same response the next day… this was an inconvenience …

the location is great - walk into the centre no problem, the tram stop was right outside the door - brilliant Staff friendly and helpful and engaging. Bar stayed open late, Breakfast was all fresh produce. Liked the avoidance of the wasteful jam pots. Reusable pots - much better.

the bathroom was a little small with odd angles for the walls making use a little less comfortable, not a disaster. The was way too much lighting in the corridors at all times of the day and night- especially in this climate change times , sensors to turn on and off would be better, if not just less would be better

From the moment we stepped into reception the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean, the bar was a comfortable place to sit and chat, and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is a very short walk into the tourist area with plenty of bars and restaurants. I will definitely use this hotel again next time I'm in Gent.

There was nothing we didn't like. The rooms were slightly small, but absolutely fine in terms of value for money, location, helpfulness of staff and other facilities available

Centrally located, clean, and the staff is friendly. Nice breakfast with a lot of options - you can make your own waffles, very "you're in Belgium". (Although the street the hotel is on also has some awesome breakfast cafes.)

The room and bathroom are very small but they do the job. The bed only has a side table on one side - would be nice to have somewhere to put stuff down for both people.

The location :is just perfect ,you can easily get a tram at front of the Gate of the hotel. Staff: is very helpful and kind Breakfast: is ok and nice ,but not with too much options. i do like the fresh orange juice. The area is very safe, and some restaurants just nearby.

The room is super super small(even is very clean) ,if it's only one person still think very small.the toliet cannot fit one slim people,don't understand why design the toliet like that.

The hotel is very central and allows to move easily in all directions in town. Check-in and check-out were super easy and the personnel is incredibly kind. The room was a bit small, but smartly furnished. All was very clean and the beds absolutely comfortable.

Besides the room being a bit small, but it was known at the moment of the booking, all the rest met our expectations. In terms of tidiness it exceeded our expectations.

Room 431 is on the top floor and at the back of the hotel so no street noise. Only heard people in the hallway going into their room. We had a Standard Double Room and the bed was much larger, more like a queen size and very comfortable. We needed ice to chill our beer and the bartender accommodated me without hesitation handing me a whole bucket full. It's very easy to walk everywhere from the hotel's location but if you don't want to walk there is a tram stop literally right out the front door. Parking under the hotel (€16/ night) was a bonus!
