Graben Hotel

Fantastic location right off Graben a major pedestrian only street loaded with shops and restaurants. Less than 5 minutes walk to St. Stephan’s Cathedral. Just about anything we wanted to see was within walking distance of hotel (Museum Quarter, Danube River, Spanish Riding School etc.). When we went further out to Schönbrunn Palace and the Vienna Technical Museum we took Uber, which was pretty reliable and affordable. There is a U-Bahnstation literally 2-3 minutes from hotel. The room was decent size with two big armoires. Staff were very nice and the in house Italian restaurant was good. Our room was about 270 square feet, which was very comfortable.

the price of the breakfast is excessive (22€per Person , we can't afford it! too bad. we had to go outside In the room, even the tea bag and the coffee 'Nespresso like' caps were not free. i think it's too much!

The location was AMAZING for a quick trip to Vienna. 2 minutes for Stephansdom, 5 minutes from the Hofburg Palace, across the road from Cafe Hawelka. So easy to find. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The room was clean. They had amenities like a hair dryer, soap.options, daily towels (if you want them). For my birthday, I came home to a cake in the room from the hotel group! It was such a nice treat! .

This could have been remedied by calling the front desk, but we never tried to do that- it was a bit chilly in the room (we were there for the Christmas Markets) and couldn't figure out how to work the thermostat.

The staff was wonderful, friendly, helpful and energetic. Our room was large and comfortable with two armoires, two chairs and plenty of room for multiple bags or luggage. The location is perfect for a typical tourist in Vienna. Easy walk to almost all the regular tourist venues and the designer shopping, Our room was also sound proof so the noise from the streets did not effect us at all.

The only possible complaint is that the whole hotel is quite dated in decor but the staff, location etc makes up for that.

The Graben is a quaint Austrian hotel with an interesting lobby. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious. Windows opened and AC was used on a few hot days. The location simply could not be better- close to sight seeing, shopping, subway and grocery. Breakfast was fine...the very best part was large pots of extremely strong coffee. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was very thorough. Large and fast elevator. We had limited noise from the street, and no problems sleeping in the sound proofed rooms. Overall, a great stay, and I would book again.

A little more variety at breakfast.....maybe a little leberwurst?

The staff was outstanding. The room we had the first night was horrible. The air conditioner did not work, we had 2 large suitcases with nowhere to put them much less open. Too much furniture for a closet sized room. The view was horrible as it was a wall. We complained that night. Apparently no other rooms were available. They did make up for it by moving us the next day into a nice room overlooking the street. There rest of our stay was exceptional a part from the horror of the first night.

Fabulous location. Excellent breakfast and superb staff. As requested our rooms were close together (opposite each other), one of which was a twin again as requested. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good, with terrific staff. The hotel is full of character and you feel as though you are in Vienna rather than being in some faceless chain hotel.

Beds were on hard side for us but we asked for mattress toppers which were provided immediately and solved the problem. Also we requested extra pillows which again arrived immediately. One room a little noisy as opposite very busy bar and we could smell cigarette smoke if windows were open. It was fine with windows closed. Other room very quiet as overlooked a sort of inner courtyard.

1. The location is very good, 2 minutes walk to the church; 2. The breakfast choice is not big, but the quality is kinda good; the service personnel from Taiwan is very helpful and nice to us; 3. The historical bit of the Austrian author makes the hotel more interesting; 4. The light in the bathroom gets slowly on, which is quite nice.

1. The cleanness is not enough. There was very dusty under the bed (see the attached photo); 2. A bit loud in the morning to hear the cleaner tidying up the neighboring rooms.

An excellent hotel right in the center of Vienna, the perfect location and a literal stones-throw from everything. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Knowing that the hotel Graben is historic building and having read some other reviews, I was a little hesitant that our room maybe a little cramped, but this was not the case at all. We stayed in room number 25, a lovely warm room, very quiet, extremely comfortable and amply spacious for the three of us including the beds, chairs, tables and lovely Art Nouveau furniture to neatly store all our clothes. The breakfast was excellent, including everything you might want to eat and the staff were warm, wonderful and always very helpful. My family and I absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel Graben and would absolutely recommend it as the place to stay in the center of Vienna.

Central location, superb for all the Vienna sights. Couldn't be bettered. 20 mins walk from the CAT station, 6 mins walk to the Hop On Hop Off bus stop. 5 mins walk to the Spanish Horses and 3 mins walk from St Stephen's Cathedral. Buffet breakfast was excellent as was the Italian Restaurant below - we didn't eat anywhere else in the four evenings we were there. Excellent food and vibe.

Rooms a liitle on the small size, but hey, you only sleep there. Very comfortable and extremely clean.
