A Great Ocean View Motel

Friendly helpful staff, on site at check in. Bed very comfortable. Lovely crisp sheets - real doona (not folded back sheets over inlay). Shower good water pressure, hot and like remainder of unit very clean. View over Barham River across to crushing waves and sand dunes was better than expected (unit 23). Small balcony to sit with table and chairs to enjoy the view and those walking into AB township. If you want have a few drinks it was only a 10 min walk into busy main street. Internet (Optus & Telstra) very strong. Car parking not allocated to unit but certainly no problem (on property, not Great Ocean Road)

No microwave, but we simply used the hot kettle to warm our milk for breakfast. Couch was a little old but we watched TV and the waves from bed. No paid TV network (or DVD?) but hey we were not there to watch TV all day. To get the view from apartment you do need to walk up about 15 steps - but it was worth it. There is no pool but several beaches mostly 5 min drive to. Recommend Mounts Bay (no Lifeguards).

The room was exactly as advertised in the pictures. Clean, comfortable with a nice view out towards the water. It was a great price for 2 of us to stay for a single night while driving down the great ocean road. Very easy walking distance to all the restaurants and shops, which was great to not have to drive again in order to get food after a long day behind the wheel.

As a few people mentioned the rooms are a little dated, but honestly still perfectly clean and comfortable which is all we really wanted, so I don't consider this much of a negative.

As the name suggests....a great ocean view. Our room had a window with a balcony. Perfect for sitting out and enjoying the view! The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Crockery and cutlery was supplied as per request so very much appreciated. We've stayed here before so felt it worthwhile to revisit.

Car parking was a little tight, especially if you have a large SUV or 4wd. But manageable. The motel is looking a little tired in some areas, but for the price, that didn't bother us too much.

Amazing view from our room of the beach. Comfortable beds and clean sheets. Friendly host on arrival. 10 minute walk from Apollo Bay town centre. Great value for money.

Unfortunately, there was a gap around the door into the room. This meant that due to the weather being bad the room could get very cold. However; the heating was highly sufficient so we weren't cold for long, but had to place a sheet in front of the door to keep the breeze down.

Location is amazing, beautiful view over the bay, and private balcony, was quiet with only the sound of the ocean at night, which we loved. Staff were very helpful and made an undercover area available for my Harley. Rooms was a good size, and bathroom was clean and functional, facilities provided were great. Bed was very comfortable. About 600 mtrs walk back into town, which we liked, but a taxi service is available too.

The view was good, the location was what we wanted. It was comfortable and clean. Staff when we saw them were friendly. Covid has changed a lot when travelling.

TV too close to ones head when standing making coffee. Bathroom needs an upgrade. Maintenance needed on doors and windows.

The view is wonderful and the location great, you can walk everywhere.. the facilities are a bit dated but everything worked and was clean.

Didnt see any staff to talk to...quite impersonal. A blind missing on a high placed window that let the light into the room very early which did wake us.

It was in a lovely location, with a great view, it had everything we needed for an overnight stay was clean and comfortable and great value for money .

There was a bit of a noise coming from the fan in bathroom even when off but could not be heard when bathroom door shut so all ok.

The million dallor view...it reminded me of my child in Fiji..the singing of ocean the sapphire blue sea when the sun peeped through the clouds of winter. Jim 's help was awesome .

It was winter...and I refer warm food in winter . Adding a micro oven would be an added bonus as she's open late there.

The view at the balcony... view of ocean is awesome. The location of the motel is really good. Close to restaurants & shops as well. Just an 1 hr drive to Twelve Apostles. Genevieve is also very helpful when our flights are rescheduled at a later time.
