Superb central location, right in the heart of the CBD, close to the docks and very close to cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. Museums and galleries close by plus tour pick up points and the Skybus stop. Hard to beat location. Additionally the guys that managed the whole place were really nice, flexible and kind. I was loaned a dinner plate and cutlery so I could eat my own food and they were incredibly kind when I had a little accident opening the fridge on my penultimate day dispersing a glass of saved wine from the previous evening on the carpet! NB; be careful not to leave anything which doesn't have a screw top in the fridge door... Despite my best cleaning efforts it didn't look quite as good as new, though it was smelling nicely of lavender. I am always meticulously clean staying in all accommodation so this was a big deal for me but the team were incredibly gracious. I left the rest of the carpet cleaner! Downstairs there is a casino on one side of the ground floor and a sports bar on the other. There's a separate locked door up to the accommodation. It's very quiet even when open and all closes at 9pm so it is really quiet overnight. I slept better in this hotel than anywhere in Australia over my previous 6 weeks. The very comfy bed and pillows helped. Great shower. A spacious room and very spacious bathroom. I had a room that was overlooking a side lane off the main road. I never heard any neighbours except occasional opening and closing of doors at a reasonable time in the morning so I think the sound insulation must be very good. Nice neutral decor.

Close to plenty of shops (woolies a block away, chemist across the street, restaurant/bar downstairs, burger joint around the corner, the list goes on) Only 8 min easy walk to the pier (where the night life is) Bar fridge and kettle were good to have for late night or early morning coffee/tea. The bathroom in the room with shampoo, soap, etc. included was good, although the shower is tiny but will do the job, plus can't complain as it's private and good value.

No microwave - if you need one!? Could only get 2 TV channels to work (if that's what you're interested in)

Room and bathroom were very clean, had all I needed for my stay. Convenient location surrounded by shops, a pharmacy across the road, supermarket not far away and the Sky Bus stop 5 just down the road. It was quiet when I was there (Sunday-Tuesday), can hear the occasional noise from the corridor. This room was better than the bigger brand hotel that I also stayed in on this trip.

There is no lift which I knew before booking and was fine with. People will just need to aware that the stairs may be difficult to navigate with heavy luggage.

Excellent location. Looks a bit dodgy at the entrance because you walk though a sports bar to checkin with a games room on the left side. But the room was great. There were even Twinings English breakfast tea bags and fresh milk in the fridge and 2 bottles of water! Although those tea bags were not replenished after the 2nd day and the service discarded my own soap!!

Reception could only keep my bag until 5pm as my flight was only at 9pm.. but it was Australia day…

The room was compact but comfortable. TV with remote, tea and coffee, fridge. Comfortable pillows, blanket, luggage stand, hanging space. The bathroom was equipped and clean and the towels were fluffy. The shower was very small, not sure how someone larger than us would have fit! The staff were helpful in every aspect - check in and out was simple and they were happy to hold our bags for us on our last day. The location was quiet, even though it is above a pub and in one of the main streets - it was 5 minutes walk downhill to the harbour and central to many historic sites. The dining area at the pub would have been an economical place to eat while we were there but we had other events to attend.

Shower was small. The switches for the bedside lamps were wired down behind the mattress so a bit tricky to get to. From a sustainable perspective I would love them to have dispensers on the wall for shampoo and body wash, and avoid all the waste with the little bottles and soap wrappers.

Excellent location in the CBD close to the Odeon Theatre where we were seeing a show. It was convenient to the touristy Dock area and very good value. The room was recently renovated so the bathroom was nicer than expected and everything was fresh and clean. An additional bedside table is the only thing that was inconvenient - we just used the room chair on the side of the bed that didn't have a table.

Compared with a slightly larger and much more expensive room wherein I stayed in Hobart city, not far away, the Central was a better deal; the Central had free biscuits with the tea and coffee (the more expensive place had no biscuits), had a range of teas (the more expensive place had Bushells only), and had a larger bathroom, with a heater, with a better range of products (the bathroom at the more expensive place had only a sliding, non-lockable door). For the price, the Central is very good.

The room was spacious and modern. Bathroom was bigger than expected, modern and spotless. Amazing value for money. Located on Collins St right in the middle of the CBD so easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, the waterfront etc. I had some international meetings to attend via Zoom and the wifi was more than adequate. Located above a pub so a little bit of noise from the smokers' area, but the hotel closes at 9pm during the week so very quiet after that.

Website said there was an area for smokers, however, they mean the pub's smoking area. As the pub closes at 9pm, after that you need to leave the hotel and go out onto the street. Coincidentally, the whole street and half the CBD is designated a non-smoking area. One night around 10:30 I went to leave for a smoke but there were men sitting around on the stoop so I gave up and went back upstairs. If you want to nap or go to bed before 9pm, the noise from the smokers area might be a bit disruptive.

Very nice staff, I had spacious room, very quiet, at the end of corridor so I felt very private there. Nice bathroom. Totally recomend to everybody looking for afordable hotel in the centre, close to other attractions.

Hard to find at first entrance to the hotel, but when you find it it's great :) They don't have parking so be prepare to park somewhere else. They don't have elevator but stairs.

Very central, easily accessible by the airport bus, close to the ferry station. Walking distance to Salamanca markets. Room was very clean, large and comfortable. Basic ammenities were provided.

As it is a pub there was no reception so was difficult to ask staff questions as there were only bar staff available. The cleaning staff were very helpful with ammenities like an iron.
