Golden Age Motor Inn

Lovely modern and comfortable decor and spotlessly clean. Provided everything you could need. Situated in busy street with many chain food venues nearby. Complimentary muffins, pastries and coffee was an excellent touch!

Friday night was very busy on the main road and although the traffic died down, there was still the occasional loud vehicle at the roundabout adjacent to the motel. There are possibly quieter rooms but we were in one of the pet friendly ones.

Clean and big space for the money. Easy to get to, lots of nice touches in the room and little extras like complementary muffins which is great when you arrive from a road-trip with young children.

Single glazing on the windows let some noise and cold in. Heating was functional but not enough to conquer the cold. Bathroom also had a permanent window vent which made it cold. Some noise from people moving about outside also made it into the room.

everything was really, really good👍 the comms from the hotel was excellent! the staff are amazing and listen to their guests!!! there were also hotel staff everywhere, they were very friendly and polite. the location is very good and always had parking, parking bays spaciously wide to guarantee a stress free parking. rooms very clean, the linen fresh and smelling nice, bathroom had everything and a high, comfortable toilet seat (that is for a high person👍) lovely towels and toiletries. kitchen very well equipped and would give it 10/10 but the fridge was a little bit too small for my liking, but good enough. the air con worked perfectly! very enjoyable stay overall and highly recommend👍

my shower made water squeak loudly so it made me very uncomfortable about taking my late shower at 2am after a long working day and I felt for my neighbour as the walls over there are not that thick… I would maybe consider changing the lights to warm white but definitely still give them bright, but not ice cold. it kills the room atmosphere and I didn’t like them that much. perhaps having Netflix or YouTube on a tv would be certainly nice (Kobe the competition near by got it😊). but those points are to make it perfect, the hotel is excellent and will certainly stay there again. also hopefully the owners may look into an option to put up some EV chargers so that would make certain to keep coming here for each of my work visits.

We couldn't find any accommodation closer to Canberra for the evening, glad we prebooked as when we arrived you already had up the not vacancy sign. The beds were comfortable, my grand daughter was thrilled to have double instead of a single. Instructions to find our room that was very confussing, the receptionist should have taken a second longer to explain. We climbed the stairs with our heavy suitcases, using the stairs closest to the road, the numbers of the units were a longway from where ours ought to be, so we carried the bags back down, walked around the back and found an entrance next to the dining room. It wasn't till we were leaving that we found the the other stair case that lead to a hallway connecting us to our room.

After we enquired regarding the restaurant and breakfast we were advised that the restaurant was closed. The self serve breakfast was well catered for.

At times when I called the Motel phone number, the recorded voice stated that the phone number was disconnected. Following several other attempts to contact the Motel, I was finally able to speak to a person at the Reception Desk. A recorded message for after hours callers would be most helpful to advise the operating hours of he Reception Desk.

The room was big and spacious; the toilet and bathroom were more than adequate. We had all necessary stock in supplies and then we ran out of tea bags of one sort or another. Being informed as to when and where to pick up the much needed stock would be helpful. On the whole we are always pleased to stay in the Golden Age Motel.

I could have asked for more ginger tea/lemon tea; more other varieties; milk ran out. Could not see any housemaids or trolleys to replenish stock.

Check in process was smooth and easy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very good and the double glass windows and doors stopped most traffic noise.

There was a light outside our room, maybe it was an auto light that came on around 4 am. It was very bright and the blind did not completely block out the light. Disturbed sleep.

Pet friendly very friendly staff and very convenient location. Stayed here on the way down as well and think i just came down on the wrong weekend during a motor show so was quite loud with all the car enthusiasts reving their engines however was much better on the way back very quiet even though on the main road easy checkin

We stayed here mid year on the way to Victoria and because of the great stay we said we’d be back. So for 3 nights over Christmas we stayed at the Golden Age. Everything was perfect, the most comfortable bed, a powerful shower, spotlessly cleaned room with quality bedding and towels, kitchenette if needed, a packet of biscuits (not just 2 in a pack). Because of the holidays and Covid, breakfast which was more than adequate and so tasty, was delivered to the room. Stephen in the office was most obliging and helpful, the perfect host. Location is very convenient, fast food places, service station, Queanbeyan shops, parks nearby and only 20 minutes from Canberra. Great value, service and accommodation!

Best budget accommodation we have ever stayed in. Shower was amazing, VERY clean, tidy, well maintained, cute building, GREAT location, lots of food options within walking. We bring 6 each stay and everyone loved it.

My big boy said the bunk mattresses were a little uncomfortable, possibly better suited to younger kids. Rooms were small BUT they crammed in a double and 2 bunks, for my family so can't complain.
