Hotel Marta

The front desk staff was superb. She was lively and vibrant and warmly shared on the places to go in Zurich. The staff worked hard in filling up the food in the breakfast area and breakfast was great! Its simple fare of bread, different spreads and coffee and tea.

Hotel Marta's location is excellent. It is in the heart of the old town and it is near the main Zurich train station which makes it extremely convenient to go to/from the airport. There are multiple dining options/restaurants nearby hence food is never a problem. They serve a decent breakfast which commensurate with the price. The staff is friendly and the welcome ice cream upon check in, gives it a special touch. Overall, it is excellent value.

The room is a little warm during the summer as there is no air conditioning installed. The fan in the room does help to provide some relief to the heat.

Efficient ( we had to check in on a Sunday outside of staff hours ) but the instructions for getting key etc were excellent Convenient to Train station and exploring old town Triple room - which we needed - big enough for 3 adults All staff were friendly and helpful Breakfast was lovely (I don’t understand the reviews about lack of variety - it was lovely - tasty fresh bread and croissants with any kind of spread , cereals with nuts or dried fruits to add , boiled eggs , cheeses and yoghurt ( and I’m dairy free and I was allowed to store oat milk in the fridge which was very helpful ) and fruit and fruit juices and coffee that’s very varied ) The complimentary icecream and water on arrival is a lovely touch

Only that the rooms get warm BUT they do provide fans ( and we had two fans for the three people ) so they have done as much and they can to a building that can’t be altered It is also noisy with the road - BUT again you are pre warned and they provide ear plugs

Wonderful place to stay - excellent location , very central to everything. The breakfast was very nice , the staff were always very pleasant. The room size was nice and spacious , and the bathroom size was big too. If you need an adaptor or hair dryer you can request one. Although there were no tea and coffee facilities in the room there was a tea / coffee / water available on the ground floor. For the price the hotel is a gem , I highly recommend it. We booked through booking. Com and got a complimentary taxi service from the airport.

Excellent location. tram station just 2 mins walk. Main train station around 6 mins walking. Spacious room, nice bed and pillows. Strong wifi in the room.

There is no fridge in the room. no kettle boiler. to boil hot water need to go down to lobby. Bathroom at the small size. We were there when the weather is 32 degree, Room was very warm, no aircon. luckily hotel provide fan, but still very warm in the room. luckily the window is openable, we need to open the window when we slept. a bit noisy downstairs, cos a lot of cafe, pub. but around 12am it´s became quite

The location of the hotel is incredibly convenient if you are traveling via train, as it is only a few minutes walk from the main station and an easy walk into the historic part of town. My room was very spacious and clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The room also has large windows which allow for terrific light. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and spoke terrific English. Breakfast is included and offers a nice variety of breads, cheeses, yogurt, a few other items in addition to tea and coffee.

The only thing that was not ideal is that my room faced the busy street, so I heard traffic up until around 11pm when it tapered off, but started up again around 6am. The hotel offers ear plugs, but I cannot sleep with something in my ear. My suggestion would be to ask for a room that faces the small street with less traffic than the big street -- otherwise a very enjoyable stay!

Switzerland is an expensive place, and this hotel offers good value for the money. If you want luxurious, then you will need to splash out somewhere else. But Hotel Marta offered a clean, comfortable room with excellent wifi, and I had a great couple of night's sleep. Good selection of breakfast items, and friendly staff. If you are arriving outside of reception hours, they provide comprehensive instructions on how to obtain your key, which worked perfectly. Short walk from train station.

I have no idea how the hotel star system works but this was definitely the best 2 star hotel I’ve stayed at - I’m not sure why it is only 2 star ! Hotel Marta had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - it was very clean, great shower, comfortable bed, quiet. There was a luggage room available before check in and after check out, free water and ice cream, croissants and muesli at breakfast, a tea room. Very good value for money !

The rooms were a bit small so got stuffy with two people in the room. Was fine when we opened the window but not sure what would happen in summer as there is no aircon. Otherwise no complaints !

Hotel location is excellent, just 10 min walk from Train station and right in the middle of the Old town. Room is well sized ( we had triple room), it is clean and comfortable for the price you pay. As the location is great the downside is the trams running outside, but this was not too disturbing. Breakfast was good with selection of choices. Tea or hot drinks availability at the reception and possibility to leave our luggage when checked out was a great option.

Excellent location near the main station and most of the tram lines passing nearby. Old city with its many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Room has basic facilities but is of good size. Very good cleanliness standard. Simple but tasty breakfast included in the room price.

Guests must notice that there is no staff at the reception at night. There maybe some noise from the street during weekends due to proximity of many bars and restaurants; earplugs are provided by the hotel but during my stay the noise wasn't disturbing.
