Pop Up Hotel Krone Zürich

The hotel has great, tourist oriented location, easy to go swimming to the lake or river nearby. I appreciate warm welcome by friendly staff, easy system for entrance (via e-card); shared showers were really not an issue - they are kept very clean, with additional towels provided; while individual rooms might look small, the hotel has generous dining area and lounge/(kitchenette with fridge), where it is really cosy to stay in the evening. While one cannot cook meal in a pot, but there is a microwave/oven for heating cooked meals, teapot, Nescafe coffee machine - very convenient.

If you stay longer than three days, need to ask for change of towels/bedding linen as it does not happen “automatically”. My room had a little too soft bed. Also in the rooms it was difficult to find place where to dry wet towels after shower. I stayed during summer, with a hot weather, but in colder months it can be complicated. All in all, I consider these just minor issues, against a very good price/city location combo in Zurich.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and the location couldn’t have been better. Our view and private bathroom was perfect. Being able to check-in after hours (and a long day) was easy. It was an easy 7-8 minute walk from the train station.

Being asked to pay $20 for a plastic throwaway room key as well as being asked for another $10 towards some city tax after we had already left rubbed us wrong….but it was sorta expected. Most of the restaurants in the area were charging $7-11 for bottles of tap water. I guess when it comes to tourist everyone has a hustle.

I loved the common room with refrigerator, dishes, teapot (including complimentary choices of teabags), comfortable seating, plants and sightseeing literature. I appreciated that our room had its own sink and mirror, even though we were using a shared toilet and shower. Alessia was very helpful in planning our day trip! Just be aware that the late night noise outside open windows (people talking and laughing, trams passing) can be a bit loud, but that is normal for its very central and convenient location. Our room was directly above the street; I'm sure one could request a quieter room if they want. Also, we wanted the windows open for the fresh air, but closing them reduced the noise fairly well.

Super nice location, convenient to the train station and ETH and close to the lake as well. Feels like a hostel with private rooms, which is cozy! There's a cozy little restaurant that does fondue on Thursdays and Fridays. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The working hours are limited (3-7pm) but they have systems in place to help you during off hours, I believe. There is virtually no soundproofing between the rooms and between the rooms and the hallway. Other guests got quite noisy (partying) while I was there. In general Zurich is very expensive so while this is cheaper than a full service hotel it does not feel "good value", but maybe for Zurich. I would try AirBnB next time, but would recommend this as a good back-up option.

Prime location - it's a short walk to the Zurich HB - the main train station, there's also a tram stop at the doorstep. This hotel is located in the heart of Zurich's old town and surrounded by restaurants, pubs and cafes. A fridge and a microwave are available in the communal area.

Not really don't like it, just for others to know that: - The bathrooms are shared - The receptions are only available for limited hours in the daytime - Prime location also means you have to live with the noise from road traffic and nightlives But if that's fine for you, this hotel could be a good choice.

I loved the easy location from the train station, its right in city center. Check-in was super simple and the building is well marked. The room was very clean and comfortable! I loved the bed.

while its wonderful being city center, its also very loud from the neighboring bars and restaurants. Even during the weekday, it was quite noisy until about 1AM (that is in NO way the property’s fault, I would still stay here again!) I wish the room had a small fan due to no air conditioning. Also, I would like to note the shower on 3rd floor probably needs a new shower curtain.

Great location. Almost couldn't be better for central Zurich. The Hotel can be seen from 200 metres away and can be easily found. Staff were very helpful in all things. Its a budget hotel though so ideal for no frills short stays. Shared toilet and bathroom not a problem for me but you know that when booking. Price was also very good value for the city.

I think the hotel should consider a free coffee machine in the communal area. Perhaps set out a few pastries etc in the morning, just something simple. Would give a bit more buzz to the communal area which is a bit soulless

Great location with friendly and helpful staffs (Karin n Marco). The rooms are small but are comfortable and clean.

The pillow is a bit soft.

I loved the the view from the windows of our room overlooking the river. I thought it might be noisy, but it was fine and really added to our stay. The hotel is about a 9 minute walk from the train station and right in the heart of Zurich with so many lovely shops and restaurants on the same street. The room was large and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had a shared bathroom which wasn't busy and a sink in the room. The staff were very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The location is too good. I recommend the word echo especially for young people who visit Zurich for good fun and evening out. Interesting bars with good music and entertainment are literally under your window. The hotel is located in the downtown area do not spend money on expensive public transport that you do not need. The best points for the receptionists, charismatic and friendly.

The building itself is quite old, but is authentic to the city itself. The interior is modern minimalism in my opinion is cute.
