Alexander Guesthouse Zurich Old Town

I love the location and access to the shopping, train and walking about safely. I will visit in late spring and stay at your hotel. Recommended to my friends..

You should have hand rails on the steps to the breakfast area especially since the carpet is black. I saw many guests struggling with the step down. Safety is key.

Location was very walkable for riverfront, cathedral, and lakefront activities. There were two twin beds and plenty of electrical outlets.

Parking was challenging. There are two properties a block apart, plus a third for paid parking roughly in between. You can’t check in at Alexander Guesthouse, you want to map to the Hotel Alexander. The parking is accessed by driving down a pedestrian zone. The hotel staff follows very different protocols depending on which employee is running the front desk. Most were very friendly, but finding the parking area was not clear at all the first time.

1. Location close to train station, tram stop, groceries, shopping street, and tourist attractions. 2. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. 3. Price is very reasonable for this area. 4. Room with ensuite toilet and shower. 5. Elevator in the building. 6. Guesthouse is in a separate building from the main hotel, but we can use the free coffee machine at the main hotel reception room.

1. Room are very small, and the placing of electricity outlets for phone and camera charging are awkward. 2. No air condition, and we happened to experience 30 degree during our stay in June. But they are fairly acceptable considering the location and price.

You don’t get a lot for your money in Zürich so this place is great value for money. Really well located in the middle of the Old Town, minutes from Tram, Train and Boat stations and surrounded by bars and restaurants it makes an ideal place to stay. Rooms are quite basic, but comfortable - pillows are huge and soft, and bathroom has all essentials. Staff were very welcoming and really helpful when I needed to stay a little time behind checkout due to a work issue! Free coffee in reception is very good too!

Walls are a little thin so if you get noisy neighbours it can be a bit tricky - luckily mine went to sleep quite early so was very pleasant! they do provide earplugs which I felt was a nice touch

this place is a great value for the money, it has a great location, very close to the center and the main train station. the staff were nice, they gave us free entrance to zurich zoo and a portable wifi dongle that we used all around zurich.

Alexander Guesthouse was not the property I stayed at, I was convinced to stay at their other property Alexander Hotel around the corner. The stay at Alexander Hotel was all good, room is a good size & all the staff were nice & helpful. Plus there’s free water, tea, coffee and fruits for 24 hours.

Pillows were paper thin and had neck pain the entire stay + 2 days after. They also ask you to check in to another property around the corner & then convince you to check in there instead because it’s better, which is of course more expensive.

The hotel was very nice, clean, and exactly what I was looking for during my overnight layover in Zurich. It was in the center of Old Town and I was able to get a nice meal which was walking distance from the hotel. Mark and Arturo were very nice and friendly. I asked them where I could get fondue and places to walk around and they gave me great recommendations! The room had USB ports so I could charge my phone. The shower had great pressure and hot water. The soaps provided smelled wonderful. Sure, the room might have been small but I don’t mind that at all, the most important thing is location and cleanliness, which they definitely did very well :)

It was difficult to find the place because the address listed is for the actual building where you stay but the lobby for check-in is in another building, one block of the rooms

Very favourably impressed, simple but stylish room with good bathroom and comfortable beds. We were offered a kettle and tea bags for our room as in the guesthouse. Also was a good fan in the room. A better, quieter location than the main hotel. We were taken to the guesthouse from the hotel. Good choice of TV channels and lots of sockets and charging points.

Nothing. There was an interconnecting door to next room so might have been noisy perhaps but don't think anyone was using it.

The location is in the city center, so sometimes during the night you can hear people from the outside but it's fine. You can borrow the portable wifi and, for example, free entrance tickets for the zoo. Free coffee and fruits in the hotel. Nice and polite staff and a very nice breakfast.

I honestly have not experienced customer service this good in YEARS. The check-in staff were so amenable and accommodating and FRIENDLY. They switched between languages with ease, they were super helpful with our parking needs and offered me a wi-fi pack so I could have connectivity all day since my sim card didn't work in Switzerland. The room was also very quiet and looked onto a garden. The location in the old town is also just great.

We were in the guest house and my friend found it a little bit warm in the room and subsequently didn't sleep so well. Other than that, no complaints.
