ibis budget Lugano Paradiso

The hotel is situated only 5 minutes walking from Lugano-Paradiso trainstation. Personal speaks good English and is approachable. The room is what you can expect from IBIS. Beds where on the hard side but dowable.

I stayed alone in a threepersonroom. The lack of privacy I would not like if I would stay there with more than one person. Because of the bathroom setup. There is only a flimsy curtain which is seetrough.

The location was great and the room was decent. They gave us a Ticino pass that covered local ground transportation. This was huge.

No A/C which is a big deal in Lugano in July. Luckily it was cool while we were there so we survived. The rooms are spartan with few amenities, but it’s a budget hotel and that’s to be expected. We got what we paid for, considering the extremely high prices in Switzerland

Good location , it was an emergencial reservation so it was an easy check in .

I couldn’t choose to stay with just one room (we were 3 adults and 2 babies )the room there was a queen bed which we could put one baby with us , get a crib for other and the other adult stay on the single bed . We should have the right to choose just one room. The room was little bit hot and there was no fan available in the reception

This is a budget hotel and does exactly as it says on the paper. So nicely set out, clean, simple rooms. Good for a short stay, especially when someone is there for work.

There was a long queue at the check in in the evening and only one staff, poor guy managed the people alone. I guess it is what it comes with a budget hotel, so I didn't mind, eventually we got through it smoothly, but some before and behind me were fuming. Anyway, it didn't bother me as I had everything ready and got through fast.

Location is good, less than 5min walk to train station or 2min Wal to bus station. We were given a free voucher for public transportation within Ticino so it was a welcome surprise for us.

The bathroom was super small and hope that they have some hook that can hang your towel. Instead of leaving your towel outside which is wired since you need to dry up inside the bathroom

The location is amazing- 2 min walk to shops, cafes, restaurants, chemists and the lake. The staff were incredible. We especially want to recognise and appreciate Francesco, Ileana and a couple of the other reception and waiting staff. They went above and beyond, giving us late check out, printing, any assistance, even company, and we will keep in touch with them- which is more than I would say for 5* hotel staff I've interacted with before. Perhaps it is because we spent 10 nights, but they were brilliant. The breakfast is also extensive and consistently good. The Ibis rooms are definitely value for money.

Ibis Budget rooms could do with a chair rather than hard plastic stool and please note that the room has no cupboard, to unpack clothes, for anyone who spends more than 2 nights. Ibis Budget has no way to control their AC and got hot at night at this time of year.

Shared Hotel: Ibis Budget, Ibis, Novotel. Think of boarding an airplane: you walk through first and business class and take the economy seat in the back. The very good breakfast buffet of Novotel is open to all guests. ++ There are two car charging stations in the parking (Type 1 and 2 available), usual RFID cards should work. WiFi speed was decent, though not encrypted.

A bit pricey for Ibis Budget.

Staff was friendly & helpful! Room and comfort as expected from an Ibis Budget. Beds are super comfortable and the bunkbed for the kid above the adult bed has been much appreciated by the little one. Location close to a few restaurants, bakery as well as a lido (place where you can swim in the lake). Parking is a great asset and reasonable priced for Switzerland.

High season, hence high price. But it is what it is. :) No electric plug next to the bed.

The hotel is very well located in Paradiso, 5 minutes walk from the lake and around 15 minutes to Lugano center. Bus station is just a minute away to all locations. Rooms are clean but really very basic just a bed, lavatory in the room, toilet and shower; not so comfortable. The lady that was in the hotel Ambra is really exceptional when it comes to her excellent welcoming, customer service, information given and approach. she made the entire difference during our stay at the hotel. The team in general is nice. It is a good hotel for 1 night. all hotels were fully booked during the weekend and as we had to stop for 1 night we booked the Ibis which we recommend in such a context.

Extremely basic room; very small. Not comfortable for a long stay

Location really perfect. Its like hiden gem this hotel. Breakfast really nice, exactly what is needed.

What I didn't like but I understand that is out of your hand and not hotel's fault. Room window is going to the main street and I was staying in first floor, early in the morning the truck car was loading stuff, so I was waking up early
