Hotel Les Arcades

It was clean and close to the main train station and airport. The rooms were reasonably sized, it wasn't a dedicated hotel, it shared a building with other businesses.

It wasn't very private, everyone can see you come and go due to the configuration of the rooms. But if that's not a problem for you then it's a secure spot

Very convenient location across from the main Cornavin train station and transit hub. 10-minute walk to Lac Leman, where you can catch water taxis (included in the free Geneva transit pass) to the other side and the old town. Lots of good restaurants, convenience stores, pharmacies etc. in a couple blocks radius. Amazingly comfortable bed. Train to the airport is right across the street and only takes about 12-14 minutes to get there.

Facilities are pretty basic and the whole place is a little worn around the edges, but for this price in this city, you could do a lot worse. It's a typical European 2-star hotel. There's no AC and if you're on the station side, it can get noisy with the windows open, but it's typical urban noise.

The staff was so kind. I had asked online before arrival if there was any chance we could check in very early to take a quick nap after our long flight even if it was for a fee. They emailed back that it could not be guaranteed but if they could accommodate us, they would. Sure enough at 10 am they had a room ready which they gave to us and no extra charge! I also liked the proximity to the train station and could walk to restaurants.

The main dislike was no air conditioning which I’m sure I just didn’t notice when booking. It was quite hot and I’m from Texas! The towels are also ready to be replaced but otherwise a perfectly nice European sized room!

The hotel was opposite Cornavin Station which was handy for day trips n getting back to the airport. Despite being in a busy traffic area, it was quiet at night and we had no issues with noise at night. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. Fresh water and coffee/ tea station are available in the reception area. Our room was really clean and had everything we needed. The staff at the hotel were all lovely and helpful.

Toaster was not working but that was not a big issue.

Absolutely fantastic hotel; it exceeded my expectations. I checked in before arriving through an app that I received via email. This helped me to complete the check-in in a minute upon my arrival (very good experience!). Before reaching the hotel, I received a Geneva travel pass via email (free of charge), which was perfect, as I used the train from the airport. With this pass, you can use all public transport within Geneva Canton for free. The hotel is on the second floor of a building, in front of the train, bus, and metro station – a really good location. The staff is absolutely friendly and always at your disposal. The room is comfortable, and the toilet is in another room, but less than a meter away; you just need to cross the corridor (actually, this was my case; I don't know about the other rooms). However, as it was privately used by me, this was not a problem at all. The internet works perfectly, and breakfast is very good. I highly recommend this hotel.

It's slap bang across the road from the main train station, so we had easy access to everything. If you're not worried too much about luxury, and more about exploring Geneva, this place is perfect. The staff were all really friendly, and big up to Emil with his English skills who was super helpful with checking up on our train tickets. Breakfast is great! A nice mix of healthy, fresh fruit and meaty delights along with pate, pastries and if you're inclined, eggs. The coffee machine is magic. We managed to get early access to our room, which was a godsend after a long flight, and while this isn't standard, they will at least look after your bags until check-in if you'd like to explore the area a bit. Our particular room was quite spacious with a window looking out over the main road, and train station going's-on opposite. The beach is about a 20-minute walk away, but even quicker with the free tourist travel card. The airport is literally one stop on the train line away, it couldn't be easier.

Perhaps it would've been nice to provide guests with a list of restaurants that are open - we struggled to find anything decent that wasn't very, very, very expensive as most places were closed as the season was coming to a close. We managed with the variety of food outlets in the station, thought - self-catering style.

The location was excellent, right opposite the train station, and close to many bars, cafes and restaurants. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast too. Compared to the cost of other places in Geneva, good value for money.

Just one small thing. Being in my 70's with a dodgy hip, I was a little nervous taking a shower which was over the bath, and there was no handle to hold on to on the wall. Apart from that, everything was great.

Very good position, close to city train station and public transport stop. Public parking with plenty of space at any time at less than 1 minute walking, for which the hotel offers a 30% discount. Basic but very clean and silent room, despite the window facing main street and station.

A shower box would be preferable than a bath tub. Shower curtain does not look hygienic at all... Breakfast is ok for Geneva prices, but for 12 Euro some higher quality and variety would be expected. Minibar is empty, so why is it there? Some of the rooms' doors face directly the breakfast room.

My stay at Hotel Les Arcades in Geneva was quite pleasant and had its unique charm. The first thing that caught my attention was its cleanliness - the hotel was spotless, which instantly made me feel comfortable and reassured about the hygiene standards. The location of the hotel right in front of the central railway station was both convenient and surprising. It was interesting to find the hotel situated in a building with mostly small businesses. Taking up the entire second floor, the hotel offered a calm and peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city. The cleanliness extended to the rooms as well, and the breakfast area was no exception. Speaking of breakfast, the variety offered was impressive, and it brought a smile to my face when I discovered they had an egg boiling machine - a fun and unique touch that added to the overall experience.

While some of the furniture seemed a bit outdated, it didn't detract from the comfort and functionality of the room. In fact, the older pieces seemed to lend a certain character to the space. Given the reasonable rates, this minor detail didn't hinder the value for money that the hotel provided.

Location was great, opposite the train station, easy access to trains, trams and buses. Surrounded by good bars and restaurants. Within easy reach of Christmas markets and lake cruises. The staff at the hotel were fabulous, always willing to help out and make suggestions and offer information. The room was cleaned and refreshed every day, to a great standard.

There is no tourist information office in Geneva and therefore little information, particularly in English. The hotel staff are knowledgeable but it would help if the hotel had some local information available maybe in written form. There are lots of lovely local bars, and interesting things to do, but we struggled to understand a lot of information, with our very basic French.
