Scandic GO, Upplandsgatan 4

Having never stayed in a Scandic before and having seen other reviews I wasn’t expecting too much, just a budget hotel. But this place really exceeded my expectations. When we booked it was still just a Scandic, but at some point changed to a Scandic Go. No breakfast was then on offer but we were told that in advance and received a partial refund for that. We didn’t miss the breakfast as there are so many fantastic Stockholm breakfast spots on your doorstep. The rooms seemed recently refurbished with modern and clean bathrooms. Rooms are relatively small but all you needed. Clean and comfortable. We were even able to open the upper windows in our room which a lot of hotels don’t allow - there is no air con so this was helpful. Very helpful reception, we actually had 2 separate bookings as booked a few nights and then added another on later. They were really helpful in connecting the bookings so we kept the same room. Cafe in reception is also handy for any quick food you might want without venturing out. There is also a water filling station. Also lockers for storing bags. Overall we were very impressed especially for the cost. City centre location, very close to all attractions.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location was good, a quick walk to the station and an easy walk to Gamla Stan and other areas. Also right by the shopping district with cafes and restaurants. Useful lobby area for working and relaxing.

I was surprised that room cleaning was an additional cost, usually this is provided as standard at a hotel. Tea and coffee facilities in the room would be a nice touch too.

Very near the main central station and public transport. Tourists spots are all walkable distance from the hotel. The receptionists are very friendly. The breakfast they provided for customers are amazing (I recommend to be there are 8am, after that hour it's sort of like rush jour and people keep coming to the restaurant for breakfast and will be hard to get a seat). I like their Swedish meatball the most! The design of the room and the toilet is ergonomic, they use every possible spaces available!

The air condition doesn't really work. Maybe only ours was defect.

The location was the best, its at the most happening part of stockholm near to cetral station. so all are at walkable distance. The room was quite ok and confortable. the breakfast was the bes part of the deal and our stay. great breakfast buffet. our friend too could join who isnt a guest by paying 215 bucks which is a good deal. courteous staff.

The room lacks basic cupboard to hang cloths, found thats bit weird and discomfort to store cloths. apart from that , nothing much. all good.

Great location, in the city center, at walking distance from the Arlanda express train, connecting to the airport! The breakfast buffet was fantastic and the staff was very friendly! The hotel was very avant-garde concerning its accessibility and environmental sustainability. The room was very spartan but spacious and the beds were one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in!

There wasn't a closet in the room, as I aforementioned it was very spartan! The cromecast service on the TV set didn't function and the staff didn't have the means to help us, although very polite.

Upon arrival, the staff informed me that they would not be cleaning rooms daily but upon request - to be more environmentally friendly, which I loved. If you needed anything or wanted a clean, just give them a heads up the night before. The room was very practical - loads of hooks on the wall to hang pretty much everything, which was fantastic. They have under-the-bed storage (which is needed because the room was very small) and space in the bathroom to hang towels and put your things. The bed was super comfortable. Lovely big windows, elevators for easy access. I think they also offer luggage storage, at least I saw lockers downstairs. However, with the check-out time being 12pm, I didn't need that. The front desk staff was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They have some leaflets and brochures about attractions and are helpful when you need information about the area. The location is great for shopping in Norrmalm. It is a bit of a hike to get to Gamla Stan (the old town of Stockholm). However, if you don't mind walking, it's great.

Breakfast got a bit redundant after a few days as it is always the same. The selection is great, but they could mix it up every other day. What disturbed me the most was that the street was very loud. If you like to sleep with your window open, definitely request a room that faces the inner yard. I got woken up several times every single night by the commotion outside - mostly garbage trucks.

Modern, simply-decorated rooms in a well-located hotel. Very clean bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable bed. TV in room, and I was able to get BBC World News. Great breakfast included in the (very reasonable) price, with continental and cooked food available. Very friendly and helpful desk, breakfast and cleaning staff. Left luggage lockers available at no charge. Only a 10 min walk from the Central Station. Bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. I'd definitely stay here again.

the location of the hotel is very good. it's very close to the central subway station which allows you to go wherever you want in stockholm. also, it's quite close to the city center by walking. the bedroom and the bathroom are quite clean. the staff were sincere and very helpful. the breakfast was really good. you can start your day with good quality food.

the bedroom is a bit small. there is no wardrobe for example. there are some hangers in the room and drawers under the bed. it wasn't a problem for us though.

Great location, easy walking distance from the station and many other places we wanted to visit. Generally a very pleasant hotel, with clean and comfortable rooms and quiet inside. We knew we were getting a small room, but they'd really made good use of the space, such as plenty of room under the bed to put suitcases etc. Staff were really friendly and helpful when we had questions. Just made the whole stay very easy and stress-free. Breakfast was lovely, with a surprisingly large range of hot and cold items meaning we could have something different each day.

Was a bit noisy outside at night, with people shouting in the street, but thankfully we were too tired for it to keep us awake. Would have been nice to have a kettle, but we could get hot water downstairs if needed.

Breakfast was amazing. Have stayed in a Scandic before & remembered the breakfast being good so was delighted it appears to be a feature of the chain. Small shop in reception for essentials (or a late night tea/coffee). Convenient location about 5mins from the Arlanda express station and a short walk from the old town.

Room was a little snug. We were only there for a weekend, and looking for somewhere to rest our heads, if you're going to be there longer or spend more time in the room you might like to go for a larger option.
