NH Collection Madrid Suecia

Staff were very pleasant and were knowledgeable when asked for directions. We did find the temperature of the hot water in our shower to be too cold on some occasions. We left the hotel on Sunday 23 04 23. It only became known to us that the Madrid marathon was being held that day and there was no way to have a taxi take us to the airport. There was no route for taxi's to leave the city. We had a twenty minute walk to the station with our suitcases. Holding the marathon the day we were leaving was not within the control of the hotel. However they perhaps could have made us aware of event in advance especially since they were aware we arrived by taxi.

The waitress at the restaurant could barely speak English. Mattress is exhausted.

The hotel is very well located with many main attractions within walking distance and a metro station just around the corner. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The premium room was spacious , clean and had excellent A/C which didn't blow over the bed. Good view over the city. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I would certainly stay in this hotel again.

We stayed in two different rooms during our stay. The bathroom layout is rather odd with not enough space given to the shower cubicle and showers in both rooms leaked through the shower door all over the bathroom floor. Clearly some sort of design fault. The entrance to the hotel is also disconcerting when you first arrive. You feel like you are walking into a restaurant. We left first time thinking we had got the wrong place.

Very nice staff, I love the hotel, and I am staying there each time I come to MAD. Good price, perfect location, clean and modern. Particular shoutout to Patricia at the reception who is a lovely person.

The staff of rooftop of Casa Suecia is horrendous. There have no respect for their customers. Each time I try to have a nice moment it doesn’t work. I will mever go there again, and I don’t recommend this rooftop, believe me I know what I am talking about. The Manager is disrespectful as hell. He almost screamed at us because his colleague put us on the wrong table. And its like it was our fault ? Shame on this rooftop, i will never go back there again.

Spacious and comfortable rooms. Location is very good and within walking distance of major attractions. Good value for money. The reception staff were really helpful.

The breakfast did not have a lot of options. I had the same breakfast 3 days in a row. The intructions given were not always followed. I order well done eggs and I get undercooked yoke. I think the language was not a factor as the waitress was writing the order down and instruction were partially followed even though we had the same waitress everyday.

The hotel it’s very beautiful, from the bar to the dining and bedroom. The location, is almost next to the Gran Vía, which is the metro and is one of the Main streets, can take you to the plaza mayor o to the other side el Parque del retiro. Also very close by to the Tyseen museum, highly recommended (if you like art). The staff is very kind, they will be always happy to help you. The bedroom it’s comfortable, clean, and beautiful, also the view it’s amazing. Finally the breakfast is delicious, is a large buffet, good quality food, and you can order eggs to the table. Thanks a lot!

We don’t like unkind people and there was, once short, blonde hair waitress that basically ignore us, apart from that everything was good

Upon arriving, sick and exhausted, the two guys at the front desk checked us in quickly AND upgraded us! We walked in to a fresh fruit platter and a stocked mini bar. Our room was a suite with a patio and awesome few of a square in Madrid. The hotel is very central to town and within walking distance to many attractions. We only stayed one night so didn't get to enjoy other amenities of the hotel, but I'd definitely love to stay again. Upon checking out at 4am, the guys basically got us taken care of as we walked by the desk and out to our taxi that they ordered for us. Great service!!

The beds across Spain are just firm...but we had a king bed as requested and the pillows were plush, so not bad!

We mainly chose this hotel based on location. It is about a 2 minute walk to the Thyssen art museum, maybe 10-15 to El Prado and about 10 minutes to the beautiful Parque del Retiro. Also near (10 minutes) one of the stops for the AirPort Express bus in from airport. The premium room we stayed in was spacious and always completely spotless, the housekeeping staff do an amazing job. Loved the rooftop bar for a breather from the busy city, it is just next to the one on the Circulo de bella artes and again amazing staff. Only had breakfast in hotel once but it was very good. Everyone we met at hotel were so lovely and helpful and when we return to Madrid we wouldn’t even think of staying anywhere else.

Nothing to do with hotel but there is a lot of works being done on surrounding roads starting around 8:30 but I would say the most of the noisy works should be finished in a week. It looks like they are putting in cycle lanes on a large street and redoing footpaths; it will look good when finished.

Lovely staff very friendly and helpful. A lovely young chap called Daniel was so helpful in taking us to our room and directing us to meet friends. Breakfast was really lovely . This hotel is well situated for the Gran Via and Sol. Air conditioning worked very well keeping us comfortable as temperatures were high 30's. Plenty of wardrobe space safe etc.

Room and ensuite were rather small. Roadworks around the hotel (no fault of the hotel) made it difficult for taxis to approach and not great to walk around . One disappointment was we arrived back around 9.30ish on the Friday night and wanted a nightcap however astonishingly the bar in the hotel was closed . We said we were residents and eventually a chap took us to a lift for the rooftop bar. It was crowded with young people (hen party etc ) not resident in the hotel with very loud music. We only stayed 15 mins . Surely the hotel should have a nice bar area for residents.

The rooftop bar with a view of the city is amazing. Great location too, within walking distance of the Royal Palace but away enough so it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a very touristy area. There was also a fruit platter in the room upon check-in, which was a very nice touch.

The fitness centre was closed the whole time and the street in front is under construction. It would have been good to notify future guests about that.
