Espahotel Plaza de España

The location of this hotel was excellent. It was a minutes walk from the Gran Via and right beside the Plaza de Espana, Sabatini Gardens and the Palace. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, holding bags for us when we had time to kill before we went to the airport. They also exchanged notes for coins on request and always said goodmorning and good night. The rooms were a brilliant size and came with a kitchenette. They were cleaned every day. The hotel itself was immaculate. There was air conditioning in the room, which seemed to go on automatically when it reached a certain temperature. There was a mini bar in the room so if you did arrive late, you had water and other snacks at your disposal. There were plenty of bathroom toiletries and a shoe shining kit. There was a conveniently located safe in the wardrobe and the hair drier was quite powerful. There were two lots of windows in the rooms which made the room quiet despite it's central location.

There was no kettle in the room but we just used a pot to boil water. This was the only thing we could think of. The hotel, staff and location were excellent.

Room was excellent, equipped with a mini kitchen which was just right , centrally located hotel, could get anywhere through nearest metro and also taxis were available, the staff at the Reception were extremely Helpful at all times, Breakfast was very standard, they have tied up with a cafe/ restuarant next door , it was the same everyday, if you are a vegetarian you have to inform the front desk so that they can arrange the same in advance as for you indirectly they will inform the cafe, however this was discovered on the last day of breakfast...however the stay was very comfortable with real good view of the main road though we were on the 1st floor...

There is nothing , everything was just Fab !!!!

The hotel staff was very accommodating to provide us with a room with one of the "best views in Madrid" of the Palacio Real as well as meeting our needs for additional comfort with the bed with extra pillows and blankets. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet at night to provide a good nights rest despite some noise in the hallway. The kitchen was amply supplied for simple meals for breakfast or lunch and if something was missing the staff was very quick to provide it. The hotel had a great location in the western, more affluent area of Madrid and the nearby parks provided easy access for daily exercise. Also, the hotel was located very conveniently and close to the Madrid subway system and shopping was relatively close by. The WiFi worked great. There was ample closet space.

There was some noise at night outside our room as the access to the main garbage used by the hotel staff was outside our room and used very late at night and sometimes woke us up. Also the doors closing to the adjoining rooms can be loud to wake you early in the morning sometimes. The breakfast was average.

The location is great: the Royal Palace and Plaza de Espana and metro station. The size of the room is more than enough for 3 persons. The main plus for us was a kitchen in the room.

Great location - withing walking distance to main attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room with a comfortable bed. The kitchenette is a useful addition and well fitted into the room. Surprisingly quiet (when windows closed obviously) despite location at usually busy and noisy square. Would consider for another stay when visiting Madrid again (even if a bit expensive but location and comfy room compensate.)

Breakfast served at the cafe downstairs was pretty basic and poor. Could be improved. However, number of places around to have good breakfast so not a big issue.

Where do I start? Was totally blown away with the facilities. A kitchenette (with pots, pans, cutlery, utensils), spacious room, comfy bed, a decent view, large TV, excellent bathroom with a bidet and all toiletries. Plenty of storage space, ample power outlets including USB charge points.

I walked past the hotel multiple times before I found it. A larger sign would be good. My room was opposite the lifts, so could hear a fair bit of noise. I didn't have complimentary tea, coffee or a kettle.

-Bed and pillows are comfortable, our room is very big with separate living room & bed room -Location is quite good closer to royal palace -Kitchen is very simple but good enough to cook

-There is huge construction around the hotel and it's very difficult to drive therr -Hotel facility is quite old and need some renovations -Parking is quite expensive for what it is

Great location, close to metro and easy reach to tourist locations. Clean rooms with everything you need for self-catering if required and safe to store valuables Was able to check in earlier at no additional cost.

There was no milk on the counter for breakfast - juices and water were there but to get milk for your cereal the staff insist that you take your bowl downstairs in the restaurant, where they pour the milk for you into your bowl then you have to go back upstairs to sit. It makes no sense, is a hassle and could lead to spillage. Just pour milk in a jug and leave next to juices.

The room was big, stylish, luminous, quiet, and clean. We only stayed for a night, but having a kitchen was very handy (the fridge included some drinks and snacks, which was really appreciated). We also loved the views from the 8th floor to Plaza de España. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, underground stations and points of interests such as templo de debot, gran via and palacio real nearby (less than 5 mins walk). Additionally, the staff were really friendly. We requested a late check out and they provided it without any problem.

Erything was perfect. As a suggestion, more kitchen menage would be a plus.

Loved the location. The room was excellent. Nearby restaurants were plenty.

Check in was likely Fawlty Towers. Chaotic and unprofessional. Receptionists using radios to communicate to housekeeping staff. Room not ready until 45 mins after stated time. We waited. Staff couldn't focus on serving one person at a time. Floor still wet from cleaning on our arrival.
