Hotel Topas Frankfurt City

Close to the Main Railway Station (approx. 5-7 minutes). Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed but pillow was not very good. No air conditioner in the room, but there was a fan. Еlectric shutter in the room.

The bathroom needs of renovation. It may be a little bit noisy if your room is with view to the street and the window is open.

Hotel 400m walk from Frankfurt centraltrain station.First impressions location a little negative however found no issues at all.Went out for meal at night without any concerns.Greeted by a very friendly receptionist (english a lot better than my German)and whilst arriving hours before designated check in was unexpectantly upgraded to an apartment for immediate check in.Very much appreciated after long haul flight from Australia.Room was immaculate and looked very recently renovated.Few stairs to climb but absolutely no problem even for people with walking problems.Breakfast was great being of good quality and plentiful.Lady working in kitchen worked very hard clearing tables and keeping all food fresh and replaced.Nothing was any trouble.Vending machine for drinks available in foyer if required. Small supermarket within walking distance.Just ask at reception for directions.We used hotel for a couple of nights after long haul flight before moving on.Perfect for our needs and will definitely use again when travelling through Frankfurt.

Through no fault of hotel location can look a little seedy however found no issues at all.

Hotel was not grand but it was modern, newly renovated, everything in good condition. Room was spacious enough. Everything in bathroom worked as it should. The room had a good fan (which can't be taken for granted in Germany). WiFi worked with no problems all week. The room had a tiny fridge to use. Staff always available and friendly. Breakfast (German continental style) was fresh and good. Very close to the main train station.

There was no A/C, (but I would be surprised to find A/C in any German hotel). The whole area around the train station is grungy, but of course that's this hotel's fault and would apply to any hotel near the train station.

The hotel was close to the train station from which I traveled around Hessen. It had good reviews so I chose it and I have to say it was great. I had an apartment at my disposal which was very great, big and comfortable. large bathroom, clean, comfortable, I welcomed the small fridge in the room. the staff at the reception was very pleasant and great. the hotel makes the staff, if everyone is cool and smiling, then I feel very good in the hotel. Breakfast was great, enough of everything, I didn't miss anything, like at home. There are several restaurants near the hotel.

Everything was at least a “OK” level: OK breakfast, comfortable bed, clean room, nice bathroom - perfect if you need a place to sleep and get a good start next day (breakfast&shower).

I imagined the HBF area to not be great, but i was shocked by the reality in Frankfurt. The street is full of dodgy people at night. The hotel entrance and inside are of course safe, but this is not the place you want to be taking an evening stroll on your own. During the day all was OK, i didn’t feel any danger. In the dark however, several guys approached me and tried to start a conversation, while their friends were closely watching us…

The staff are nice and friendly, it's located walking distance from everything of interest. The facilities are in good condition. The breakfast is good enough.

There is no air-conditioning in the rooms. There are fans in the rooms but they don't do much to help when it's hot. The neighborhood in which the hotel is. It is located in the greater region that has junkies however, I never felt unsafe and they don't seem to bother people passing by and there is a certain degree of police presence.

This is my regular hotel in Frankfurt (during periods where the price is ok). Great staff, nice room (no airco), 24h reception, great breakfast till 10am, central, free street parking nearby. The neighbourhood, as often near railway stations) is not too good (drugs dealers), but no problems. See also my other reviews. Hotel has a new owner, hope there will be no changes and price stays affordable with around 50-60 euro for single room. If price goes up, I would have to change to other reasonable options in Frankfurt.

Only minus: I don’t like the filter coffee at breakfast

Very good value for money. Close to the train station, while at the same time far enough from the red lights district, so that the street in front of the hotel feels relatively safe. The room was clean, and very quiet. I would stay in this hotel again if I need to spend the night in Frankfurt in the future.

The breakfast unfortunately lacked warm food, I would have expected at least the usual "omelette" type of egg thing to be available. The shower drain was also a it backed up.

All the staff were really lovely and went the extra mile to help me be comfortable after a long haul flight. Breakfast was decent with some of the nicest orange juice I have had! The bed was comfortable and the shower had a good pressure and temperature. Only a couple minutes walk to train station. Wifi worked really well also. Room and bathroom were very clean and it was handy to have a fridge.

Not the fault of the hotel, but the main walk from the train station to the old town is a bit dodgy with a red light district and people doing drugs. For those who would rather avoid this, take the road in front of the station until you turn left at the river bank and then walk along the river, I found this much nicer. Also if I had to think of something, a face-washer/washcloth in the bathroom would be helpful. Otherwise very pleasant stay and would stay again!

Recently renovated and everything done nicely to a high standard. Lovely bathroom and shower suite. Triple glazed windows keeping the room super quiet, for a silent night's sleep unaffected by any city street activity. Fantastic location immediately next to Frankfurt train station. Well built, with no noise from neighbouring rooms. I would be happy to return.

No air conditioning in the summer heatwave, I was so hot I had to put the sheets in the shower and then put the wet sheets over me to sleep The wet sheets only lasted 1 hour before they were completely dry again. A fan was provided in the room, but it just recirculated very hot air. Cheese melted inside my backpack overnight. It must have been 40 oC indoors. I travel a lot and this was honestly the hottest night I have ever spent, and that includes trips to the Peruvian jungle, southern India and the Gobi desert. This hotel is a great place to stay otherwise, and I would come back outside of summer, I just could not risk it in the heat again...
