InterContinental Marseille - Hotel Dieu, an IHG Hotel

Super location nice staff helpful very professional the manager can be proud of her staff team many thanks for the front desk and the conscierge as well many thanks for all of them and it was so nice to experience a delicious dinner in the restaurant ( les fenêtres )I will definitely be back again as soon as I have few days to enjoy la dolce vita à La Marseillaise and enjoy the mediteranien fresh fish and sea food in marseille and in the beautiful village of cassis and aix en Provence as well .❤️💐

We were given a free room upgrade for the second time we stayed here. The Hotel is very luxurious and well situated overlooking the Old Port of Marseilles. The breakfast room and choices were outstanding. The bar staff and service were excellent... the female mixologist and hostess, sorry I can't recall her name but it began with "L", was a real star.

The slightly quirky placement of the main lift block relative to the floor plan meant that ot toom was a long distance from the lifts. We learned to rale the slightly out-of-the -way service lift instead.

Beautiful old renovated building, very nice location just north of the Vieux Port and at the South of Le Panier district. Staff was super nice and professional (reception, concierge, bar). Very beautiful rooms: spacious, very large and beautiful bathrooms. Super nice terrace on the 1st floor with a bar, great place to have a drink with a wonderful view of the Vieux Port.

The swimming pool. It is tiny, overcrowded, and weird architecture choice to black out some of the windows on one side, and only have windows high above ground on the other side. Feels claustrophobic. Plus water was icy cold. Finally, you have to take two elevators to get there, really weird. In the end, we came, deeped our toes, were put off by the environment and left. It could be fixed with some architecture work.

Location , Location, Location! Top place with beautiful views and very beautiful hotel.

Breakfast was a bit a struggle each day to get the attention of the personnel for coffee or eggs. we had the feeling they were understaffed… an empty dirty table was easily visited by birds like pigeons… We had a sofa bed for the kids and it was not made when we arrived, later we had to ask for extra duvets since they had not given any for the kids. And when using the toiletries the first day, it was cleaned aka removed while not empty and not replaced… not very eco-friendly to remove a soap bar after using it once.

The location was great. The staff were fantastic. The rooms were comfy and I loved the balconies to yhe front. I thought it was very cool to have a hawk overlooking everyone at breakfast to scare away the pigeons and crows.

I believe the breakfast could have been better. Infact we were really disappointed with the the layout of the breakfast and also the selection for the breakfast was also quite poor for an intercontinental hotel.

The building and location could not be beat (except that it's at the top of a hill with no easy access for people on foot; it's quite a walk after a long day of sightseeing!). The room was immaculate, and that bed the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel! This was also the quietest hotel room I've ever had, which is a massive benefit for a light sleeper such as myself.

The minibar was laughably overpriced, even for a luxury hotel. In the lobby, when we had a question or needed to check in/out, we kept being somewhat overlooked in favor of people who were either dressed better or were louder. (Look, I like to be comfortable--never shabby, though!--and we are non-demanding, quiet people. I guess sometimes it's just preferable to deal with the loud and/or ostentatious ones first...)

Comfortable large room. Shower and bath. The hotel itself is beautiful. Lovely amenities for our baby staying with us as he got a little gift bag and balloon with the travel cot the hotel provided. Valet parking was a great experience.

Pillows were uncomfortable/lumpy. It is an uphill walk to get there and there's no "short cut" if you're on wheels or have a pram like we did. We had to walk along the road. Breakfast to the room was quite average tasting.

Good location and tasty breakfast with amazing view

We arrived late at night and nobody accompanied us to the rooms and didn’t tell how works the big wood doors between the parts of building so we stuck between of buildings, after that lights were switched off and we were in the darkness. So that moment was not good at all specially for the hotel 5* but rooms were clean and good, the area for breakfast is amazing and very tasty food.

excellent location

the bed wasn’t what I expected. two small single beds pushed together that came apart every time you move. there is a sign beside the bed which states we want to give everyone a 10 experience. sorry that bed doesn’t make it I also found the food at the bar not up to a high standard. the chef needs to learn to make a club sandwich hat isn’t soggy. and the Caesar salad. was not of a top standard.

The 7th floor room was amazing. Even with the back view of Le Panier neighborhood, the front door was to open on a thrilling view of the city part of the old port seen between the archs of the open corridor. Valet parking and concierge teams were amazing.

Getting a good coffee at the breakfast buffet was a challenge. Seems like most of the staff was under training. The Hammam (or steam room) was not working and the staff was insisting that it was.
