Adonis Carcassonne

The Adonis is very close to the Medieval Cite of Carcassonne, the duplex style rooms/ apartments were well equipped and very comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and even though the reception closes at around 8pm they ensure you can still access your room. The underground car parking made life simple for a reasonable cost 10 Euros per day! Would definitely recommend the Adonis as a place to stay close to the Cite.

The hill up to the Cite!, But bear in mind castles were built on the high ground for a reason! 😀

The location was wonderful. I liked the French window and balcony. There was a writing table & comfortable see through chair in the room. There was an accessible plug in my room for charging my phone etc. The WiFi was good. The view from my room was interesting. The gentleman on reception was friendly and helpful. The small lift worked well. There were lots of good places to eat within easy walking distance. The room had double glazing so was quiet and the ensuite was spotless. I was given extra pillows with smiling grace. The breakfast room is well laid out. There was fresh fruit and tasty bread, jam and croissants. The coffee was freshly made each cup. The atmosphere was welcoming and gently old fashioned, while modern facilities were all in place where needed. The history of the hotel is interesting and visiting the historical areas around is very easy from its location.

The breakfast was all cold food. The payment arrangements were not made clear by booking.com. Myself and other visitors were under the impression we had paid in advance. The owners had to explain this was not so. It is embarrassing for everyone concerned that this is not made clear in advance. Please sort this out..

Fantastic location very close to la citè, very friendly staff, good underground secure parking for €10 a night. Spacious apartment with very basic facilities but great for a short stay. The aircon was good and beds comfortable. We didn’t have breakfast but wine, beer, coffee, soft drinks and snacks were available to buy at reception. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again and a great price.

It was a little tired looking, could do with painting and a deep clean. We had to ask for towels ( there were only 2 for 4 of us) and a kettle but this was no problem.

The room was tired but clean and quite spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Reception staff were happy to help with queries and ensure our stay went well. The location on the road beneath the castle was perfect and it was only a short flat stroll into the main town centre and to local cafes and restaurants. We paid for secure parking under the building but we could easily have parked on the streets around for free.

The front door was very difficult to open and perhaps needed some maintenance as you had to virtually slam the door to close it.

Room perfect - with all we needed and so spacious and largely clean. But what made this great was excellent continental breakfast and most of all amazing location. Sitting at the foot of the old town it was a pleasant walk up to the 'battlements' of the old Cite - but also on the fringe of the new town so idyllic calm quiet location.

A minor gripe at most - the bedsheets weren't perfect - a little dusty. and the soap dispenser at the sink didnt work - , and the toilet smelt a bit - but both very small observations.

The location is amazing - really this is the clincher for me. The accommodation is basic but very good for the price. The bed is adequate, but not super comfortable. Staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. The only surprise and minor inconvenience was they didn't have a corkscrew (I would have thought that was basic in France...!)

I agree with other reviews that the accommodation would benefit from a little sprucing up. But for the price I have no real complaints.

Fantastic location.A stones throw from the castle and a steady stroll to the nearest restaurants. Amenities in the room itself were more than ample for our requirements. Hot and cold drinks plus local wines and beer are available from reception and the staff their were fantastic and very helpful. Overall,a great few days were had.

Two minor details,which may seem petty but will add to the positive experience if rectified. One being the size of the bath towels.I am 6'2 and quite broad shouldered.The towels proved to be a little on the small side.Also the shower curtain,which was quite short and allowed a lot of water to run onto the floor. As I said,minor details which didn't spoil our stay at all but may bother other guests in the future.

Location was exceptional being close to the walls of the ancient city of Carcassonne. Great for access to the walled city and all it has to offer. Our view of the Bastille Day fireworks was located no more than 50 yards away from the apartments and exceeded our best expectations. Great value for money and very clean and comfortable accommodation.

The sink and food preparation area was small but we managed well enough on the one occasion when cooking and eating in.

Great location in the shadow of the Cite. A short walk up a very steep cobbled path or a 12 min walk along a quiet back road. The hotel is in a modern building split into apartments. There is underground parking available with remote access, so it felt secure.

Ours room had two cupboards with hanging space but only 3 coat hangers! Not much shelving for clothes and no draws. The kitchenette has a fridge, microwave and two hot rings, but no kettle (coffee maker available from reception). Bedding and towels provided but bring your own washing-up liquid, Tea towels, etc or purchase at reception. A table and 2 chairs but although the room was spacious there was no soft seating for the TV (only French channels).

Perfect location for exploring the medieval city and castle. Really great value especially for a solo traveller who normally gets stung with single supplements. Good size apartment and very clean. Staff really friendly and helpful. It was really handy being able to buy coffee and water etc in the lobby, and they sell local beers and wines too. The apartment complex is quiet and relaxing.

It would be nice to have a private balcony or terrace to sit out in the sun with a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. There is a communal outdoor seating area though.
