Piergiorgio Palace Hotel

In the room: The bed, though firm, was comfortable. The bedding was clean. The plumbing all worked and there was warm water to shower and wash long hair. The bathroom fixtures are old but clean. The air conditioning worked making the room temperature comfortable. The balcony is an adequate space to have refreshments and enjoy the amazing view. The refrigerator in the room worked. There is a large closet with plenty of hangers. The property: The location offers a beautiful view of the ocean and sunset. It is walking distance to Sosua beach in one direction and the super market in the other and it is surrounded by other quiet properties. Although there is building maintenance ongoing it is not disturbing. The swimming pools are attended to daily and are refreshing. The eating areas take advantage of the view and are not crowded. One evening a pianist played the baby grand. The food was good to very good. We enjoyed the included breakfast buffet and ordered from the lunch and evening menus. The atmosphere is quaint and quiet. We would recommend that you stay here while it is still available. We have the sense that the erosion from the ocean makes pouring money into it not sustainable. Perhaps that is why repairs are minimal.

The wood furniture was very old and falling apart.

I like the view and the location of this hotel. It is on "puntilla" last thing on a peninsula and therefore the view is really good and there is no noise of the traffic. If you're lucky and there are no noisy families, you can hear the sound of the ocean. The view from the seaside rooms and balconies is simply beautiful. It has been a "palace" sometime in the past, now it is a bit like time travel with its own charm. Wifi is good. Walking distance to the beaches, restaurants etc.

It gets noisy when ignorant families spend time at the pool or corridors, and no smoking rooms get filled by smoke, if someone on the next balcony smokes. Cleanliness is on and off. There's a little waterbottle in the room, luckily there's a possibility to fill in the lobby.

I love the vintage look of the hotel, the view or the ocean the gardens and patios were stunning, the pool was nice.

The property needs some maintenance done. I really hope they do it because this place is worth it, the beds are hard and old, but they were clean! the shower need some maintenance, my husband had to kinda clean the head of the shower, because water wasn’t coming out properly after he did that we were able to have a better shower.🤭

The hotel has exceptional staff immediately upon walking in, I felt like I was home. Everybody I met was warm, friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay amazing. The proximity to the beach and the main strip makes it fun. This was my second visit to Dominican republic and the first time I stayed in a hotel and not an all inclusive....this hotel is the way to go!!!

This place is historical, you can't expect it to be like a modern hotel. If you can accept the simple fact that historical buildings need more love, this place becomes magical. And for those that appreciate seeing a piece this place is priceless.

The breakfast was great, there were a wide variety of food to satisfy everyone's taste The location is awesome, the view of Sosua Bay from the dinning room is very relaxing and breathtaking beautiful!

wheelchair accesibility is limited around the property. The property is a bit dated. The air condition could not be adjusted in one of the 2 rooms I booked. The door knobs were of concern, but the property is very safe and the staff very accommodating and friendly, so I was not afraid that the door did not appear to fully lock.

The room is big, and the bed and the shower are good. The view from the balcony is beautiful. The ppl in the reception are friendly and really trying to be helpful, although there was only one girl who spoke English.

It is an old property and definitely needs a renovation, which, as I understood, they are trying to make slowly slowly. The internet time to time stops to work and then you have to restart it...

Nice pool, fantastic view, buffet breakfast, location, price.

Wi-fi is no good. My room did not have a chair. Could not get onto balcony because the patio doors were nailed shut.

The view is overwhelming! Such a nice feeling to wake up and have breakfast while enjoying such a view. Location is perfect, you are in the City of Sosua but secluded in the Puntilla. Perfect place to have a wedding or any other celebration, contact Raquel and she will take care of everything. Variety of breakfast is excellent and prepare as ordered. You can also enjoy lunch or dinner at the hotel. Pretty good and reasonable prices. Relax environment. Swimming pools are great! The hotel is being repaired as is an antique jewel. The beauty of the tiles in the bathrooms remounts to that era. Staff is wonderful and they become your family away from home. Second time and we will continue coming thru the years to come. Oh, I forgot, the gardens are beautiful, carefully maintained by our friend Teo.

The air conditioner wasn´t working properly but they are working in many issues with the hotels that´s it´s taking sometime for all the items to come together. They provided a fan immediately and that took care of the problem. Keep in mind it´s a large facility and they are working the best they can to make it shine again, it will happen.
