room, breakfast and location with free parking was great!

the fact you had to pay to use the pool and spa this should be included in the price of the hotel!! Included in the facilities as it is sold as a spa hotel!!

The spa facilities are on the whole very good, but the main plus is the outdoor jaccuzis and the views over Lake Windermere. The staff are also very good, attentive but not intrusive. Breakfast was also very good. On the second morning of our stay the self service coffee machine was not working so the staff simply took orders and went to the bar to get hot drinks to order.

It wasn't clear at the time of booking that breakfast included was continental. Cooked breakfasts were available at extra charge. Similarly, there was no mention that there was a charge for use of the spa of £20 per person per stay. Restaurant and bar are pricey, but you'll need a car/taxi to get to any alternative.

I think the hotel undersold itself. When we booked we got an email saying the hotel was over six floors and there was no lift!! The reality is that from the front entrance there is only two floors down and three up and they had kindly booked us on the same level as reception. Views are great 😃

Food - the restaurant food was good but expensive so we only ate in there once. Bar food was poor and on the third night we ate out. Breakfast was included but only continental, which we didn’t find out until we had booked, however the continental was more than adequate.

Paid extra for cooked breakfast and whilst it was well worth doing this, the continental is more than adequate. Couldn't fault the staff, everyone helpful and friendly, hotel has a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere on the whole, really enjoyed being there and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Exterior of the hotel and also items like patio furniture need a little investment. Lick of paint to veranda railings etc would really make a difference. Some of the furnishings could do with a steam clean, things like this are all that prevent me giving full marks all round.

room 19 being adjacent to the door to the car park lacks privacy unless curtains are drawn a blind on the window would remedy this problem

The room had the most amazing view over Lake Windermere, the staff where always polite and helpful. lovely and clean with a door to a shared balcony area. Really pleased with the room, the view and the staff.

we booked on a half board basis so was very surprised to be told that there would be extra charges for a cooked breakfast. The spa facilities looked amazing and was a main selling point when looking through the hotel photos but yet again it was only when we tried to use these facilities did we find out there was more additional charges (£20 per person) for what would have been a 40 min visit due to dinner plans, not on really!!

This hotel is in a stunning location when we arrived the reception were friendly and super helpful. The views from this hotel make it so worth it. Definitely make sure to get booked into the spa it is an additional cost but it’s so worth it. Spent lots of time relaxing with a few drinks enjoying the view. Regarding food we ordered from the lounge menu as it had more of a variety than the dinner menu as I’m a picky eater. Had a chicken chaser salad was delicious and would recommend. If you didn’t like the food Windermere was only a 5 minute drive away with loads of restaurants and cafes.

The staff were lovely, we only ate at the bar but the food was delicious and the portions are generous. There is a good selection with the continental breakfast. The view is lovely and our room was a good size and clean. The spa facilities are good. I would recommend a visit.

The outdoor furniture needs a good clean. There were a few children in the spa during the "quiet hour". Our toilet paper was not topped up so had to request it, and dirty glasses were left behind after cleaning. Having to pay £20 per spa session felt a bit steep. It feels like £20 per stay would be more appropriate.

The room was nice and comfortable, and we had a wonderful view of the lake. The food was amazing and the restaurant staff were super nice. I really enjoyed the spa.

It was not made clear on the booking.com page that you have to pay £17.50 per person to use any of the spa facilities, including the pool. When we first arrived we were told that the room was being cleaned and that they would come and get us when it was ready - when I eventually went to ask how it was going, about an hour and a half later, I was told that the room had been ready for a while but that they couldn't find us. We had been sitting in full view of the reception desk for the entire time, and the same staff had come and handed keys to other guests sitting a few feet away from us. This was not the end of the world, and the rest of our stay was great, but I did find it quite rude and frustrating.

The location of Beech Hotel and Spa was fantastic, with a terrace with lake view, which is exactly what you want in the Lake District, the Bar area and Dining facilities were both of exceptional quality in terms of food offered and prices, in comparison to the local area. Most of all, all members of staff encountered were fantastic. Could not do any more to help us. Great

The rooms were a little tired, not broken, just tired, to be expected with an older property, did not put us off, but could see it might with others. But refurbs and decorators cost money.
