Hotel Les Cigales

Excellent location, very near the heart of the action in Nice but in a quiet street. It is correctly priced for what it offers.

You may need to put on ear plugs if you wake up late because housekeeping can be heard vigorously cleaning other rooms early in the morning.

The location of the hotel is perfect, close to the "old city" area (10-15min. of walking) but far enough so you don't have noise or traffic. The staff was very friendly and, among other things, showed us on a map the attractions from Nice that we should check out. The room was cleaned every day but I think it could be done better (perhaps this is just me being picky). The breakfast was tasty with tipical french items: cheese, pain aux chocolat, pan cakes, orange gem. I would definetly pick this hotel if we decide to visit Nice again.

There was no space for drying-up the swimming gear (e.g. towels). The elevator did not worked when we arrived (it was fixed the next days) so we have to carry our bags to the second floor.

Excellent location: walkable from the train station and only a few blocks from the beach and Promenade. Our rooms were comfortably sized, ready when we arrived, and very clean. The front desk was helpful, offering directions to points of interest, and towels and an umbrella for the beach at a reasonable small charge. It was nice to be on a street or two away from the major pedestrian streets.

No complaints. Next time we would choose rooms that were not right off the lobby, perhaps an upper floor instead, as loud guests returning to the hotel after a night of partying did wake us in the middle of the night.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much for them to do. The room was clean, large enough for 2 comfortably, and modern. The lady at the front desk was beautiful and kind natured and went above and beyond during our stay, the moment we checked in she showed us a map of all the local places and sites to see in Nice, kindness we have never experienced before. The location was also close enough for us to get into town, being young and agile, walking 10 minutes into town was no issue, thus we love the location as it was also away from the hustle and bustle.

The location was excellent and the staff were very helpful. I really liked the roof terrace and being able to take up your own drinks and snacks before heading out for the evening. The breakfast had a great selection of breads, cold meats, cheeses and pastries. There was also a couple of hot items but I preferred the cold selection.

I had a triple room and my friends and I would have preferred more storage for our clothes. However, we still had an excellent holiday.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Convenient location, very good bed and the bathroom was nice and well functioning. The breakfast exceeded our expectation. The terrace at the hotel roof was a very nice place too.

The soundproofing for the room was rather awful (you could hear e.g. the toilet use of the neighboring room) This didn't really bother us though, as all the other guests of the hotel happened to be very silent and well behaving folk. No noise outside from the street either.

The hotel is a nice, clean, recently renovated three-star in a pretty good location off the pedestrianised Carre' d'Or and near the Promenade des Anglais. It was good value for money, but what I thought set it apart from other hotels, was just how friendly and accommodating the staff were. A cheerful, helpful person at reception (don't know if they were the owner or just worked there), makes all the difference in a stay (especially in France where plenty of difficult people work in receptions and i say this as a French person). Even though it was February they hard decent occupancy, so they seem to be getting things right!

Nothing, no complaints at all

I like this hotel very much. Staff there is very nice and friendly. You can feel very welcomed there. Breakfast is good, you have so many options. Location is fantastic, just 4-5 mins walk to the beach.

The only thing that I think it needs improvement is the bath room. The basin is too small so water is easy to splash. Shower in our room is a nightmare. It is difficult to change the water flowing from tap to shower as one part of the tap is missing. The shower head can not fix due to the pressure of water, so I have to use a rope to bind it to the pole. Apart from this, wi-fi seems to have some issues during our stay, we did not have wi-fi for the whole night before we left.

There was a warm and genuine welcome as soon as we walked in the door. The hotel was a pleasure to stay in and we enjoyed using the rooftop terrace that is tastefully laid out. Location was excellent and we all enjoyed the boulangerie that was situated near the hotel where they had the best croissants in Nice. Have stayed in many hotels in Nice and this one is the best by far and will definitely return. Just sad that it took me this long to find such a gem of a hotel.

Extremely nice, friendly and helpful staff! Gave us an advice for visiting Nice, Monaco and even nearest cities. Super location with walkable distance to any place. Excellent breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausages, quiche with tomatos (that was it from my opinion). Owner is Italian, made a present on a room door for every guest, for Epiphany day. It was very sweet.

No parking places from. Nearest parking lot costs 28 EUR per day:( *it is the average price for Nice.. A bit small washbasin. All other was really great!
