L'Hermitage Gantois, Autograph Collection

We travel frequently and I have to say this was a great stay! After arriving from a few days in Paris, my partner laid on the bed and said “OMG this is amazing”. The same respond was given by my colleagues. The rooms are huge and the staff were excellent. The staff gave the best directions and recommendations. Further, they helped with reservations and bookings. In fact, the made my partner look like a professional experience maker. Finally, the hotel is in walking distance of the main and secondary stations.

All perfect.

The hotel was beautiful, and had everything we could want or need. It was amazing staying in a place with so much history and wandering around the gardens and communal hotel spaces was a fun activity in itself! There was an exhibition about the former hospital, art displayed everywhere and even a chapel dating back to the 1400s! The room and bathroom were beautifully put together but with all the modern touches (USB chargers in bedside lamps and huge full length mirror particularly appreciated). Loved the pool & sauna and the breakfast was delicious with loads of options and great quality produce. The staff were all fantastic, but special thanks to the receptionist who spoke English and Greek who explained a lot about the hotel and the city to us.

No complaints at all

I liked the size of my room and it was clean and quiet. I loved the Bar which was bright and cheery and I also liked the restaurant. However the eggs at breakfast contained cream and the milk was high fat.

I would have liked one television channel to have been in English e.g. BBC World News or American channels. It also took 15 minutes at 8 a.m. to get hot water as 'everybody wants to shower at this time'. This was a waste of water.

I enjoyed my 1 night stay at the hotel. I was welcomed well by reception and my car was taken care of. The hotel was well located and the staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and beds provided a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good quality and the staff were attentive.

The water took a long time to go hot in the room and the room had an odd layout , the toilet and bathroom were separate however with no sink in the toilet you had to wash your hands in the other bathroom.. very odd!

The building was very interesting and the historic elements of it had been retained along with a small "museum" illustrating its history. The rooms were of a generous size. In the newer part the showers were temperamental. The hotel had a spa which was free to use and comprised pool, steam room and a massage and beautician services which were charged.

Breakfast was restricted and didn't feel like value for money.

An amazing old building, the history is astounding (for someone from Australia). Location is on the edge of the old town so really simple to talk everywhere including from/to both main stations. The room was huge and really comfortable apart from some minor design quirks in the bathroom (toilet close to the leg of the bench, shower right over the top of the large bath tap) and was extremely quiet and comfortable. The bar was a nice place to finish a day, the restaurant attached is a really lovely place to eat and breakfast was excellent.

Nothing really, one minor issue with some of the bathroom layout otherwise I had an excellent stay

The staff at the hotel were excellent. Extremely friendly and helpful. Couldn’t do enough for you. The breakfast was also very good.

The only negative is the the restaurant. The breakfast is good in the morning but the Bistro for an evening meal was disappointing for a 5 star hotel

The hotel itself is beautiful. The bed was really comfortable, and the room was really sound-proof. We didn't hear noises from other rooms.

The room is quite small given the price we paid. And unfortunately the staff wasn't very experienced, it took us some time to check-in. And the staff didn't inform us that there was actually no more space for the parking( we informed them that we'd like to park our car starting on our 2nd day of stay). So the 2nd day we went to the reception, and the staff told us there were no more parking space since last night... and the staff was surprised that we weren't informed.

We were pleased with all the facilities. The breakfast buffet was good. The room had what we needed although it was not warm enough. I enjoyed using the pool

The heating in the room was insufficient for such a large room. We were told the main heating system was broken and provided with a small radiator during a period when the weather was as cold as it gets

excellent location to explore the city, nice hotel the kid enjoyed the pool very much

(1) in-room air conditioning control is too complex to operate and it makes noises at night (I assume self-cleaning) if you turn off completely. i assume they wanted the best system but ended up unnecessary complicating the implementation (2) i would say value for money is so-so (3) in house restaurant is good value, but quality of cooking is so-so
