Paid for breakfast. Very good selection. Parking was good. There seemed to be a skeleton staff but they were fantastic. Had dinner and that was lovely. Had a problem with one of the party being locked in the bathroom but staff came immediately to sort the problem. Offered a different room but could not be guaranteed air conditioning which was already on in the room and had cooled it. Can't believe the small number of staff managed to be everywhere and doing everything. Can't talk highly enough of them.

The breakfast was plentiful up to a certain time but then didn't seem to get replenished. If we had come for breakfast later than we did it would have been a scant choice. Also, the tea and coffee machine were turned off before the end of breakfast.

The conveince of location, it was ideal for a 2 night stay on our return to the U.K. and visit the various war graves. The staff were friendly, especially in the dining area. Tea and coffee was available during the day, also a bar in the evening. Our room was clean and tidy, the shower was a good size, the bed was comfortable.

The aircon wasn't working in our room and the weather was particularly hot which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. I have reported this to reception. I think the tatty Poppy flag outside should be replaced or removed.

Excellent location for a tour of Somme battlefields. Walking distance from the centre of Albert and many bars and restaurants. Food in the restaurant was very good and the beer and wine were excellent! All the staff were great but especially Valerie who was exceptional.

Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Walking route to the town involves some stretches without pavement. Maybe the local authority could be persuaded to extend the pavement to the roundabout.

The most important asset of any customer facing business is the quality of staff and the IBIS Albert is very lucky in thius respect. All the staff we came in contact with were first class. The rooms we used, both our bedroom and public, were very clean. Our room, for the price, was excellent VFM and I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends. The one evening meal we had in the hotel was very good and not expensive for what we had.

The location is good in some respects - exit route to other sites and Towns, proximinity to a superstore - but is far enough out of Albert to make it essential to have a car. The restaurant was closed for Friday and Saturday nights without explanation. Was it shortage of staff. The TV, although it has many channels, only gives very limited access to English speaking ones although there are a number listed on system. Finally, the towels were not very fluffy compared to other similar hotels. A small but important point.

This is a smart, clean hotel with good-sized rooms. The staff were all courteous and helpful, and the breakfast was of good quality and range. There is plenty of parking at the front of the hotel. The bathroom was compact but very modern and functional, with a surprisingly good-sized shower.

There was only one electrical socket in the room as far as we could see, and although there was a fixed hair dryer, we could not find anywhere to plug it in. There is also no tea and coffee in the room, although there is free machine coffee in reception. The WC flush did not easily reset each time and needed a little practised persuasion to let the plunger come out again, or the WC would have had water running into it all night (this may just have been our room). However, these are all small niggles: overall we had a good experience.

My 11 year-old son and I had come to visit the battlefields of the Somme, so to find the hotel was actually built on the site of the battle was unbelievable! The hotel is fresh and modern with all facilities available except an evening meal - as we arrived from London at 8pm we would have preferred not to have to go into the town of Albert to eat. But that was the only 'down' side to the hotel and, to be fair, I did not check in advance whether food was served in the evening. That apart, we found everything to be ideal and having free on-site parking was important. We intend returning for the 110th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme in 2026 and will certainly stay then at Ibis Albert Pays de Somme!

See above re evening meal.

I've never really had a bad experience at an Ibis, but this was definitely exceptionally even by the customary standards of the chain. While it's certainly not a luxury hotel, the basic comforts/amenities that are there are all excellent. The restaurant was definitely beyond what I would have expected in an Ibis.

The breakfast was a bit underwhelming (especially compared to the dinner), with many offerings having been exhausted and never renewed after I arrived.

The staff were extremely helpful, polite and accommodating - particularly as we were a group of 17 ex-military motorcycle guests and kind of took over the outside seating to the bar at night, but as the rest of the guests were either ex-military too or had links they simply joined in the fun in the evenings. Excellent location to local needs as well as a good stocked bar with good restaurant facilities on site. So much so that we only went into town on one night during our stay after visiting the sites of The Somme

As the temperature was up in the high 20’s and humid the rooms were particularly hot at night and whilst there were temperature controls in the rooms non managed to get the fans blowing let alone the air con. Don’t know if the system has been turned off as a precaution against Covid infection or not - open windows meant mozzie bites next morning!!

Hotel was lovely and good sized very comfortable rooms. Staff all really helpful. Restaurant meals all good including the pre prepared ones Friday and Saturday as the kitchen isn't open. I had the chilli con carne with bread and side salad. Easy to find and very good access to Albert and the surrounding Military Cemeteries. Would definitely stay again

It's on edge of town, so a car is needed to get into Albert centre, or it's a 30mins walk

the breakfast here is aways wonderful and plenty of it and choice. the rooms are always well maintained, and we always know that if we have any problems then the staff are more then happy to help as best as they can.

the only problem we found this time was that as it was very quiet in the hotel the first mornings breakfast wasnt as good as normal, but once the France were there there was much more choice.
