Hotel Le Prieuré et La Résidence

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. The hotel is lovely and very well situated. You can't beat the location. Parking is close by and was easy to find. Communication with the hotel, and checking in, was excellent too. The room was very clean and comfortable with a wonderful view of the cathedral. The shower and bed were both excellent. The room - and the building, was charming. TV and wi-fi both good. Breakfast was excellent. We would definitely come back.

Nothing. We loved this hotel and we cannot recommend it enough. It all added to the overall experience of our time in Amiens, which also exceeded our expectations.

We were pleased with our short stay at Le Prieuré. Our room in the "Annex" was cheerful and bright and had high ceilings. Not only that but it had "character". The shower was great. The check-in was friendly and efficient, and the check-out was easy. Thanks to the useful tips on the hotel's website, parking was affordable. Very important too is that there are many restaurants and other services nearby.

We were very pleased with our one-night stay at the Prieuré. However, for a longer stay we would have liked to have more place (shelves, drawers, hangers, hooks) for our clothes, books, tablets, hiking gear, toilet articles, etc. Also for a longer stay a fridge (minibar) would be desirable.

charming old building in the heart of Amiens and right next to the Cathedral. modernisation had retained many of the old and attractive elements, but provided up-to-date facilities in the rooms. Breakfasts were plentiful and with a very good range of local goodies.The staff were delightful, especially the young afternoon receptionist, for whom nothing was too much trouble. we had a great stay.

no lift ( but I am a geriatric with a dodgy hip. The fitter friends leapt up and down with abandon)

Location next to the Cathedral is excellent. The cathedral is a national treasure. Quiet except for lovely church bells (none at night). Other points of interest in the town - museums, canal, gardens, are 5 to 15 minutes walk Staff are warm, helpful and share their knowledgeable about the town - things to see, restaurants. Buffet breakfast is substantial and the coffee is excellent. The decor is modern- bright colors, plastic and wire sculptures not country French. My room had been recently painted. Staff helped me with my luggage up the long sweeping staircase. There is no elevator. I came from Paris by train- an hour and a half. Taxi to the hotel cost 8 euros. Staff will book a taxi for you when leaving town. Train station is about 15 minutes away and goes into Gare du Nord where eurotrain from London comes in. Wonderful 3-day break.

Hotel would not be easy to navigate for someone with mobility issues- staircase, no elevator, although I noticed a ramp from the front door to reception that might be used for a wheelchair but it was steep. The hotel is very responsive to emails and would help you decide.

I liked the kindness of the girl at the reception, who gave us suggestions on restaurants and practical tips about things to see.

May I suggest to add a second person to help clean the tables and prepare the hot beverages during breakfast? I think that it is an intelligent idea to divide the occupants in different shifts in order to avoid waiting for a free table for breakfast. Despite this, being alone, the lady could not keep up with the rythm and this created some tension in the air.

The location was very central being close to the Cathedral. One room was noisy because of music from the cathedral light show at 11pm. Then revellers at 11.30., Breakfast was good especially the cheese platter and the pastries. Staff were so helpful and a delight. Nothing was too much trouble even carrying our suitcase to our room.

I would have preferred a wardrobe rather than a rail with a curtain. A lift would have been nice but it is a very old building which is part of its charm.

Beautiful characterful building so close to the cathedral ! Extremely helpful receptionists ... Very comfortable big bed ! And very good buffet breakfast.

It would have been good to have better hot drinks facilities in the bedroom ... it was just a caffeinated coffee machine and tea ... no milk .. no kettle .We had brought our own decaf instant coffee !

Great hotel, right by the cathedral and a short walk to lots of restaurants and bars. Room was really comfortable and lovely en-suite. Really clean hotel and staff were very friendly. The hotel is dog friendly too.

Nothing much. Parking is a bit of a challenge, we had to park in one of the large car parks nearby. Only a 5 min walk, but with a dog and luggage it's a bit tricky. I don't think there is anything they could do about that though.

It’s a lovely building close to the Cathedral. It is one of the few remaining original buildings of the neighbourhood which survived both World Wars. The chapel room is charming and I had a wonderful night’s sleep. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they want to make you feel at home. It is possibly one of the most delicious hotel breakfasts I have ever eaten, with pancakes and cheeses and croissants and artichoke and honey and lichees… all with a view on the Cathedral in the morning sun. Amiens is a gentle, easygoing city.

Friendly traditional hotel close to the cathedral. Modern quirky decor. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.

Our room (5) was in the attic with a very low ceiling over the bath making showering very difficult with the hand held shower. Was OK for the one night but wouldn't want to do longer in this room.
