Mercure Amiens Cathédrale

Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms and all public areas were always bright and clean. Really good to have amenities in the private room of kettle, fridge, fully opening window, soft towels and complete bathroom grooming and washing extras. The bed was super comfortable. Lovely little garden to escape into with in the hotel inner courtyard. Great location in the centre of Amiens and with particular note to it's wonderful proximity to the cathedral and riverside restaurant quarter.

Would have preferred a balcony room as this was the picture shown to me when booking the privilege room

I liked ots of things: it is clear that a lot of thought went into designing spaces that are comfortable and fun to spend time in The generous breakfast - there is lots and lots of choice of good things to eat. The lighting in the bedroom - there are lots of different sources and kinds of light, a real treat. The reading spot light made reading in bed especially comfortably. The bathroom lighting is excellent The fridge - there is enough room to keep various treats in good condition. The room heating was perfect - very easy to modify. I LOVED the large, fully opening window. It was good to find that hot water didn't seem to run out at peak times in the morning or the evening. The staff - friendly, helpful and natural, but never in your face/ or over the top. There are lots of enjoyable and good humoured decorative touches through out the hotel to look at and enjoy. Everything worked1

It was so good to have a bath, and it was a really comfortable size for me, but it was a bit tricky to get into. The mattress wasn't ideal for me - but I loved the bed line, and duvet - so light and warm.

Pleasant staff, thoughtful the presence of a kids corner with toys and books to entertain them. The position was optimal to visit the city center and the major attractions. Breakfast abundant, but still with an authentic feeling.

The room with twin double beds ends up being a little tight. As also the bathroom is extremely compact. I would suggest adding a little stool to allow children to reach toilet and basin on their own (when registered as guests, naturally).

The location was pretty convenient. We were able to walk to restaurants & shopping without a problem. Our room was a nice size for two people and we appreciated the separate toilet from the bathroom. Breakfast offered many options. The bar was open later which helped us with a late-night snack. The staff was terrific, helping us with printing itineraries and arranging taxis to the train. Best of all, it was air conditioned!

I wish there had been a coffee machine (like the one for meetings) in the lobby to grab a coffee early in the morning before the restaurant opens for breakfast.

The location was spot on. Right in front of the Cathedral - which had a light show the evening we were there.

The air conditioning did not actually get cold - even though we turned it right down to the lowest temperature. It seemed it was just a fan recycling the air. The bed was very hard and had a synthetic/plastic mattress cover which made our sleep even more hot and uncomfortable. We were on the top floor in August. So a very hot part of the hotel.

EASE OF PASSAGE TO AND FROM

BREAKFAST NOT UP TO SCRATCH - COMMONALITY WITH ALL MERCURE HOTELS I HAVE STAYED IN. 1. BREAD TOASTERS SLOW AND SOME POOR. 2. BACON RARELY COOKED WELL. SERVED WITH WHITE, UNCOOKED FAT - OFTEN FOLDED UP OR TANGLED. 3. ALWAYS COLD PLATES, SO A COMBINATION OF COLD PLATES AND SLOW TOASTERS MEAN THAT WHAT SHOULD BE A HOT BREAKFAST IS ALMOST ALWAYS TEPID OR COLD WHEN EATEN.

We arrived in a taxi and Adam came and got our luggage and took it to our room while we checked in! This was special and after a reasonably long day of travelling - well-received. I liked our huge room, our balcony over-looking the cathedral, the breakfasts and the reception staff - Aurelion(?) and Dhouia(?). The 8£ taxi ride from the train station was good as well.

Nothing.

Hotel was in an excellent position by the Cathedral. Hotel was modern and very well maintained. Room was large and fully equipped with a great shower area. There was even a small sofa by the window...just lovely for relaxing looking over towards the front of the Cathedral. Closeby to nice park. Also dog friendly with lots of areas to take your pet for a walk etc. Amiens is a great city for a short break or as a base for exploring the Somme area. No onsite parking but public car park very close by and reasonably priced.

Nothing- it was all good...

We were upgraded to a Privilege Room at no extra cost which had a wonderful vie of the Cathedral. The location of the hotel is fairly central so it was very easy to see the sites of Amiens We ate in the hotel restaurant and both the evening meal and breakfast were very good.

There are is no parking at the hotel, but there are public secure car parks very close by.

Location was central - steps away from the Cathedral. Quiet area. Large breakfast buffet with a lot of choice (including healthy choices) and good quality food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was well lit.

Parking was off site and extra, but a short walk from the hotel. However, it is possible to pull up the car to the door for 10 minutes for loading/unloading. The parking garage itself was well lit/felt safe.
