Hotel Fabian

We have stayed in hotel Fabian numerous times. It’s a nice and relatively small boutique hotel in a central part of Helsinki. The rooms are a decent size and the breakfast buffet is tasty.

Having said that we have stayed in this hotel numerous times, we have noticed the price-quality becoming a bit less. The cleaning of our bathroom wasn’t done properly (weeks old dust on shelves) and the breakfast buffet - however tasty - has less of the foods it used to have (for example warm smoked salmon). Overall it could use a bit of a freshening up.

The location is great as it's tucked away in a semi residential area that is quiet but still walkable to the city centre and the harbour. Also the Kaivopuisto area (large park) is just a short stroll away and the sea views are extremely pleasant and calming.

Hotel isn't big thus the breakfast area is also quite small. When the weather permits it is great to have a morning coffee outside but otherwise it could become quite busy and crowded if you happen to come down at the wrong time.

The room was decently sized and well decorated, value for the money you pay. location is amazing as well as you have almost all the central attraction in walking distance. its not right in the middle of the city center but in a 5 minutes walk you can reach the old market hall and estelaesplanadi, kind of an hideaway from the busy streets. its a very small property with limited facilities, but the hotel staff is extremely helpful. breakfast is very limited but good for a quick grab in the morning.

Located wonderfully downtown Just a few steps away from the Esplanadi, as well as from the harbour and the market square. Just some 50m from a convenient (but a hugely expensive) car park Spacious rooms Overall a pleasant experience

All of the rooms overlooking the street also overlook a huge construction site 🤪 So better close up that curtains Maybe the price could be a little bit less high to compensate for the above Also just an idea, maybe a great treat would be a discount rate for the parking?

Very clean & comfortable. Quiet, despite all of the construction noise. Had read previous reviews that suggested asking for a courtyard view for the noise issue (not related to the construction) & glad we did. Good breakfast & simple check in & check out.

Wasn’t made aware of all of the construction surrounding the hotel - this made getting to and from it VERY expensive

Location was perfect for why I was there and needing access to the ferry to reach the island

I don't like staying at hotels were I have to pay for water. Paying for everything else is of course acceptable. I just feel water should be available to everyone free of charge.

location is great, friendly staff, good food as I took my breakfast as a takeaway upon early Check out & before heading to the airport, I loved the staircase which is part of room interior including cupboard, bathroom amenities was good however I wished to have at least tea to have it in the room & slippers. Also I liked the look & feel of lobby interior’s seatings.

my stay was too short so I’m satisfied about what I’ve seen.

Great location but also quiet, comfortable bedroom and exceptional bathroom, delicious breakfast with excellent choice, friendly efficient staff, spotlessly clean

Our room didn’t have tea coffee making facilities but I asked and a kettle, fresh milk and t bags bought to our room

Very good location, close to the city centre, the harbour and the market place. It is clean, comfortable, well-organized. The beds are very good, the bathroom and the shower are excellent. The receptionists and the personnel are very helpful and kind.

The breakfast was fine as was the location. I just sort of stumbled on it when I first got to Helsinki and took tram to nearby because I didn't have exact address, but after that, I had no problem finding it. They printed my train tickets for me and looked up tram schedule to ensure I could get to the train in time for an early departure. Very, very nice staff.

A bit on the expensive side.
