Everything was fine, me dieron una habitación sin vista al océano, hable con el staff y fue solucionado de manera rapida

The room we sparkling clean and so beautiful. The hotel overrall was very clean. The wait staff very nice and professional.

The food wasn’t that good. The service in itself was great as the people were very nice. But the actual food, most of them tasteless, i had ordered a burger from room service, it came raw to my office. Completely raw. Although when i called back they replaced it with something else at no charge and they even sent a complimentary dessert. But I have definitely had much much better food from big hotels like this.

My last time staying here was 18 years ago, and then 38 years ago, we visited this hotel a lot because 40 years ago my dad stayed in this hotel for a long period of time (I forgot how many days exactly), so this is a very special place for our family. A lot of memories here. Still a beautiful hotel and nice staff. Although it's an old hotel, the renovated rooms are very comfortable and the lobby is welcoming. Love it!! I will stay here next time when I come to Santo Domingo again.

Everything is good.

Room: Bright. Got nice chair, sofa, and cloth rack. Breakfast was delicious, having menu from Grill was great. Food Choice was great. Service was great. Pool- Deep pool. able to enjoy laps. The staff was nice. Able to eat and drink in pool side is A+.

Sometimes it is hard to get service. Unable to find a person. When you get a new "two" key, and one needs to get reset, the other does not work. So this was issue going back and forth. Need to let guest aware, when the reset is done. both key needs to be reset same time.

Room

That I wasn't given the charges for my room when I checked out. No email to contact accounts and why my card was charged an addition 175 when I left a deposit when I checked in. I ate in the dining room a few times during the week of Aug 22 - August 29 and used laundry twice which did not amount to 375 in charges. I did not touch the snack bar for the week. It was certainly more expensive than other hotels but my wife wanted to stay there. Bedsides expensive, no complimentary breakfast is included, and even a small bottle of water you get for $0.25 100 m from there, it was charged at $2.50. I don’t mind the price because everyone knows restaurants do that, but charging drinking water to guests, it is impolite. I won’t come here again.

This hotel management just minds its business

Roomy room, quite comfortable bed, sheets and duvet. Spacious bath room with high quality amenities and toiletries. Superb towels, roomy closets. Only had breakfast from the restaurants. It was quite complete with fruits, breads, good coffee, eggs/pancakes area and sides.

Check in and check out is frequently a bottleneck. No express check out available and staff holds your release until Mini bar has been checked (even with the deposit for incidentals).

This place is just magical. The location is great, not in the very center of the capital, but close enough due to this it was quiet and chill. In the area you have nice restaurants, cigar launches and other fun places to go to. The hotel itself is great, big garden and plenty of services available.

The food in the restaurants was a bit pricey and definitely not best. I’ve ordered fried calamari and they gave me something that looked more like roasted onion rings. Same happened with another dish, just not great. My recommendation, order local food and regional dishes. Nothing European, they don’t have the skills or ingredients to deliver the good quality.

Breakfast was superb. Hotel staff was both polite and professional. Covid-19 protocols were strictly adhered to. We return to Santo Domingo two or three times a year and El Embajador is always our first and only choice of hotel.

I can find nothing to criticize since the hotel is extremely well run. My only disappointment was that the restaurant located in the lobby was closed, probably because of the covid pandemic. But the Porches restaurant was open throughout the day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food choices were plentiful and restaurant staff was attentive.

The rooms are very spacious and modern. The wi-fi works well. The check in person very nice.

The pool hours are very limited. The breakfast, things will run out and the trays were empty for a while. The one thing I did not like about this hotel is the food at the restaurant. Is nothing to brag about. I rather walk and eat from he restaurants right outside the hotel.
