Bayside Resort, Ascend Hotel Collection

Views from the balcony rooms facing the sea were fabulous. Weather was superb and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had two dogs with us and the hotel provided us with special gift bags for each dog. It was so restful and easy. We could take the dogs out down the stairs in the early morning and evening. All was very convenient. The restaurant was superb also with great views and lovely meals. We would definitely recommend it highly. This is our second time staying there and it was even better than the first time because the outdoor pool was operating. The setting and views were beautiful!

We loved the location of the hotel directly on the beach overlooking the strait of georgia. Our room offered a nice balcony to watch the beach as well as boots passing. The whole hotel as well a our room was in great shape. We enjoyed great food - breakfast as well as dinner.

One night a lonely dog barked very loudly in the room next to us and kept us from sleeping. This was very annoying as we realized the dog was desperate. But when we contacted the reception, they instantly helped: they contacted the guests and very quickly the poor dog stopped and we could fall asleep.

we had our dog so we ordered from the restaurant , being right there and bringing right back to my room I would hope it would be almost like I ordered it fresh in the restaurant but some dishes looked like they sat for awhile and for the prices I wasn’t happy with that . We then ordered breakfast the next day , again didn’t really have a choice we had our dog . we phoned right at 9 when it opened and it took 45 minutes and again not super fresh , pancakes were burnt only could eat one .

The beds were super comfortable and we got to walk on the beach directly from the hotel. It surely was a beautiful and romantic hotel with great restaurant attached to it. I also want to highlight that the restaurant staff were very nice and friendly with my teens. We'll be back.

The elevator broke down the day we had to check out. Needless to say it was inconvenient having to bring our suitcases down from 3rd floor, however it was something out of their control so it's forgivable.

The property is gorgeous and the grounds are immaculate. It is right on the beach and there is a path down to go exploring. The staff are friendly, professional and very helpfull. The food from the restaurant was delicious, though dinner service was tastier than lunch. There is a Nespresso machine in the room and it makes great coffee!

The only, very small, complaint is the the bed and pillows were a bit uncomfortable.

The room booked for my son and his partner was spacious but without any view of the bay but they were happy. The room my husband and I eventually moved to was excellent.

The room we were given initially had no view and a thick trellis fence on the balcony - absolutely awful and claustrophobic. I requested a different room for which we paid extra and the result was perfect

The breakfast was lovely and so were the dinners we had at the restaurant. An added bonus for us were the chargers for our electric car. It was a great benefit and were used by many others as well.

Doors slamming after 10:00 at night. I know your signs say 11:00 but not everyone likes to stay up that late. Also there were yappy dogs.

The location is great, walk out the back door of the facility and straight on the beach. Close to restaurants and shops but also far enough from the main thoroughfare to be quiet. Food from the restaurant was good and service was great

We were given a room on the second floor directly above the restaurant, would definitely ask for a different room on a return visit. The restaurant blocks some of the view, so more inconvenience than a serious deficiency.

Staff is very warm welcoming and courteous. Hotel is very clean. Rooms are good and comfy. Air conditioning in the room is good in these hot days. Location of Hotel is very nice.

In front of our room, there was a tray of consumed food. It was there when we checked in and stayed there for whole night. It was removed in the morning. This food tray might be placed by front room guest outside of his room. But nobody removed it till next morning.

The hotel was in a good location and was bright and fresh. The Nespresso machine in the room was a luxurious touch. We enjoyed having a balcony although the view was not exceptional. Beds were very comfortable. There is a small cafe on site where you can get a coffee or pastry.

It would have been nice to have a more modestly priced restaurant on site especially since the local restaurants all closed between 8 and 9 in the evening.
