Marivaux Hotel

Location is about 10 min walk from Brussels Nord so easy to get train to/from airport. Centre is then less than 10 mins away from hotel which is great.

Not the hotel issue but I would be careful of pickpockets around the city and close to the train station.

very friendly staff, got an upgrade to a very large room / suite. coffee tea facilities, clean bathroom with shower and bath, separate toilet. great location close to the train station north and metro Rogier, and a few meters from the shopping street.

the price of the breakfast, 23 euros. Went to the cafe across the road instead.

arrived mid morning and had previously said needed to get in room early as had 3.00 pm theatre but told room not available till 3.00 so had to pay extra for upgraded room that was immediately. A bit annoyed as had given good advance notice to the hotel.

Our room was very large, with all sorts of amenities: soaker tub and separate shower, extra toiletry items provided, coffee maker and electric kettle, real mugs and glasses instead of disposable cups. As middle-aged American travelers, we really appreciated facecloths being provided as well as towels - for the first time in over two weeks of travelling in Europe. The Marivaux has a "classic Hollywood" theme, with black-and-white photos of movie stars (Grace Kelly and Cary Grant in our room) and meeting rooms named after famous directors. The lounge area on the main floor has elegant, old fashioned furnishings that recall the heyday of Hollywood - but all the decor is subtle, not flashy. The location of the hotel is great for dining or shopping; many stores and restaurants are just down the street or around the corner. There's some construction on the street right in front of the hotel, which made getting there a bit dusty, but it was well worth that little inconvenience. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer!

The only small issue was the construction in the street.

Very convenient location near to Place Rogier where my meetings took place and very convenient for the Metro at Rogier. City 2 mall is nearby with a good range of cafes and shops, including a supermarket. Breakfast at 23€ per person was a little pricey but offered a good range of quality food options at the buffet. Room was very comfortable with a particularly comfortable and large bed.

A few minor omissions on servicing the room on a couple of days during our stay - not replacing empty tissue box oe spare toilet roll but these were quickly sorted out by reception.

Stayed here at the beginning of August. ok arrival the staff were friendly and helpful, and we were able to check into our room early, even though we arrived 30 minutes or so before the normal check in time. The room was incredibly spacious, modern, and thoroughly clean. I interacted with the housekeeping staff on occasion and they were very helpful and friendly and were able to provide a change of towels even though we didn’t get our room fully made up each day. Hotel is located in a great spot in the centre of Brussels - less than 10 minutes walk to the Grand Place, and a similar distance to the St Katherine square where there a ton of restaurants. All of the main sites of central Brussels are all within an easy walking distance.

Very friendly and helpful staff always. We didn't have food here so can't rate that. A walk away to the Grand Place (about 8mns or so) . Cross road outside hotel(as there are building work and street works taking place)and go right straight all the way till the big statue then turn left and veer right...in and around there you will be in the large square. Also when you cross the hotel road and go right...you can also take any left turn and and then right onto the busy shopping street and that will also take you to the square. Nice bathroom with a good shower and separate bath. Toilet separated from bathroom so have to go to bathroom to wash hands.. but not a big issue. Towels Changed every day and room cleaned.

Only thing I can say is the building work outside.. But we had a room out front and it didn't bother us at all. You just cross the road and continue on.

Very convenient location close to Rogier Metro station. My room was quiet (not on the street side) and spacious with large comfortable bed, walk-in shower, bath, plenty of wardrobe space, decent size desk and good wifi/internet connection. Appreciated the fridge, coffee machine and kettle in the room. Two minutes walk from the City 2 mall which has a good range of cafes and a Carrefour supermarket. Staff friendly and helpful.

Road/pavements outside are currently undergoing major work, which detracts from the external appearance of the hotel but didn't cause me any issues (travelling by Metro/foot). Would have liked some decaf coffee pods in the room.

- The location close to the main city centre. We could reach the Grand Place in 10 min walk. The hotel is also located 30min away from the Eurostar station, easily walkable daytime (unsure about the safety around Bruxelles midi station at night though). - The room size including a huge cosy bed and a sofa with small table. The bathroom was also of good size and had both shower and bathtube! Toilets were separated which was nice too. I booked the basic double room so was highly surprised! - The hotel was really quiet at night - The amenities: mini fridge, safe, slippers, Nuxe shower gel, coffee machine, Wifi - Staff polite and friendly - Possibility to keep luggages at the hotel prior check-in/after check-out

- The bar is actually part of the restaurant which was closed as the chef was sick. There are plenty of places to have a drink in the city so not a problem though :) - The room view was a wall. As we used the room just to sleep at night, we didn't mind.

Amazing staff and location. Friendly and safe feeling while staying there.

Very minor thing was that the water wasn’t hot as we would’ve liked on one day because the entire floor used it in the same time.
