I have previously stayed here and really like this hotel. Lovely rooms. If you get a view over the Botanic Gardens - lovely views. Well situated. The restaurant has good food including can cater to coeliacs although there are also lots of good coeliac-friendly options in Brisbane. Staff are great.

Everything was great. The only thing that could have been better - the business centre charges for use of a projector screen - perhaps this is usual for the area but having used lots of business centres in other cities and New Zealand, I've not previously experienced this. Generally whiteboards and screens are complementary with the room hire. However, we sourced a good one very cheaply at Officeworks for less than a one-day hire.

Perfect location in the centre of the city, adjacent to the Botanic Gardens. Easy and scenic walk to all central sites. Plenty of interesting restaurants nearby which, sadly, we didn't get to sample. Breakfast was excellent and sufficiently varied though perhaps a little under-staffed. Enjoyed spending time in the cosy bar. Unfortunately we had picked up an infection earlier in our holiday so spent longer in our room than we would have preferred. Really enjoyed the space and comfort, and particularly appreciated the home-made soups available each evening in the elegant restaurant - really all we could face at the time.

Only small niggle was that the hotel had no book exchange - unlike many other hotels large and small that we have visited. It's an excellent service for the longer-scale visitor who only wants to carry one book at a time. (Or maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy a kindle).

Great location, walking distance to lots of restaurants and next to botanical garden. The staff was very responsive when I asked to change rooms. Also very patient with questions and directions. Loved that the windows opened. Tablet very easy to use. Loved the alarm function and sound options I was into the classic traditional look, although it's not for everyone.

Would have liked a higher floor. Food expensive. Needed more variety in late night menu, also more dessert choices. FYI a popsicle is not a dessert, doesn't matter if you give it a fancy name. Some of the finishes showed their age or minor damage.

Everything - a beautiful mid century vintage hotel in a perfect location. Add: a spotlessly clean room, bonus wine vouches, complimentary biscuits and lovely teas (always replenished), the friendly, engaging and helpful staff, the wonderful restaurant, the generous breakfast, the amazingly comfortable bed - best mattress I’ve slept on, everything in working order, the brilliantly comfortable red chair, the commodious vanity unit … I felt like a special guest in a very regal hotel with a fabulous view to match. In short I was made to feel I was well above my station in life and I must compliment the management and staff for their efforts - a four star hotel functioning above its grade is a rarity.

I don’t like being picky - maybe another smaller chair for a two person room

We stayed overnight for a concert at River stage, and this was the cheapest (yet still pricey) option in the surrounding location. It was a 5 min walk from the hotel, so if you're looking for accommodation for an event, I do recommend ROTP. The room had 2 double-sized beds which was perfect for my housemate and I. Had we stayed longer or arrived earlier I definitely would have made use of the bath tub. There were adequate power points and it was well-sized, neat and tidy. Although we were close to the stairs, there wasn't much noise from the hallway - which, as a light sleeper, I was very thankful for. You can pull your car in off the street to the entrance for check-in and they have on-site parking (both open and undercover). Lots of restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby, across the road from the gorgeous botanic gardens and river (do yourself a favour and wander around at night, the lights around the gardens are fabulous!) Pool area was closed for maintenance but it was a little too chilly for a dip and we didn't have enough time for a swim if we wanted to anyway. It looked clean and well maintained. I imagine it would be incredible during the warmer summer months, and well shaded by other buildings

I don't have any serious complaints... It was a nice hotel, which I would expect for the price. A little on the older side, but that's part of its charm. The AC was an older wheel-style model and you do have to turn it on manually, and it DID bug me that you can't open the window to let in some breeze as it was a perfect mild Brisbane night. There were 2 things that I found weird: the coffee machine was over by the desk and not in the kitchenette. I'm not sure why. It was REALLY weird. Also, the toilet flush button was up on the wall in a strange spot and would be out of reach for kids/disabled people - you had to really look for it.

The staff were lovely; professional, friendly and helpful. Winnie, our room service attendant was a standout. The front desk staff were quick and friendly, making a great impression at Check-In and each time you came in and out; always a smile and a greeting but not intrusively. We ordered Room service after arriving back after the ballet and the fish, chips and salad was perfect; well priced, well presented, good size and tasty. Our premium twin room with a city view was great. Beds were so comfortable. The room had everything we wanted; great shower, lovely toiletries, nice iron, good stock of tea, even drink vouchers - nice touch, biscuits & bottled water replenished daily. The hotel is directly across from the Gardens so it's great for a walk; take advantage! Fabulous restaurants just around the corner in Edward Street; try Toscana if you like Italian.

The bathroom door was a slider that didn't click shut properly and the bathroom vented into the bedroom - but this was the only thing that I didn't love.

The hotel was in such a perfect location across from the Botanical Garden. It provided all that we needed and expected PLUS more. We would definitely return to this hotel. Walking distance to the centre city and more. Easy to walk around. Beds were comfortable and the view of the garden was delightful. The swimming pool and hot tub were fabulous. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Richard was very charming, humourous and very pleasant to be assisted by him. He was wonderful 😊 There is a cute little sit down cafe with delicious breakfast and coffee around and across the hotel. We are there every morning. We ate at the buffet in the hotel, also, and it was nice.

One lady at the desk seemed like she either didn't care to help us OR was only lacking a smile or two. Funny how we get the feeling of how people provide their service. Can be hard to read.

The location of this hotel was premium. The bed comfortable and the room was clean. Our check in and out went smoothly, and we were able to park our car on-site for a small fee. There was a nice assortment for the buffet breakfast, and the coffee pods in the room were appreciated.

The complimentary snacks in the room were ordinary... a mix of biscuit and chocolate. and the restaurant meals were okay. Our group of 6 spent a modest $440+ for dinner. The 2 crab spaghetti had little crab, overpowered instead by chorizo and the oysters small and over sauced.

The staff were lovely and accommodating. The room wasn't modern but it was clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was wonderful. The location of the hotel was brilliant. Close to everything and yet it felt secluded being just across the road from the Botanic Gardens. Lots of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.

The pool was very slippery when walking on the steps into the pool. It needs a lot of updating to this. But the pool area itself is a lovely addition when staying in the city as most hotels have indoor pools.

The location across the street from the Brisbane Botanical Garden was exceptional. The garden was a huge well used park along the river. I took a free tour and learned about its long history and wildlife. I especially liked the fruit bats and the unusual birds and the lotus ponds. The hotel was beautiful and it had the nicest stairways of any hotel I have ever stayed at. There was a view area at each floor. My room was very clean and comfortable.

The breakfast was good, but not great. I got the full buffet. There was a wide variety of items, but the items themselves, such as sausages, were not particularly tasty to me.
