From reading through the mixed reviews prior to my arrival, I have to say I have 'lowered' my expectation. I probably would have moved to a different place but decided not to just because the conference I'm attending is at Pullman, which is physically connected to Mercure. But I'm glad I stayed at Mercure- for a 'combination' of good reasons. Check in was quick and easy (I was given early check in at 12.30pm) (From reading the review, I knew the check in counter is shared with Pullman!) Room was larger than I thought (I was given the corner room, much appreciated!). I was also given a welcome dessert! Wifi was free up to certain capped speed, but enough to browse through Youtube videos at night without issues. Close proximity to Queen St Mall (3 min walk) and public transport. Superbly comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was delicious and served at Goldfinch Restaurant and choices includes continental breakfast, English breakfast, cold cut meats, plenty of fresh and cut fruits, and made-to-order omelette station. Room was serviced daily and beddings changed every 3 days (I stayed for a week). An overall enjoyable stay.

I would appreciate a quicker breakfast check in process. There were multiple instances of some random, moderately-loud noise lasting a few seconds each time which I assume is the air conditioning, but it didn't wake me up from sleep.

So close to everything. Me and my partner from GC, so we can get lost easily in the city. We’ve stayed twice now and just think it’s perfect for a few days getaway. Neat little room and clean amenities. House keeping friendly and load you us with fresh towels every morning! Feels so luxurious using a fresh towel every day.

I am a little confused with the way they run breakfast in the downstairs cafe. Add the bill to your room but never got the opportunity to order from the menu. We went down a little hungover so a big buffet style breakfast at $42 a head wasn’t really what I was after. To have been able to just order a simple avo on toast I wouldn’t have had such a shock to the check out bill. $84 for breakfast.. but all in all still was a good breakfast. It’s not their fault I was a little bit rough 😅

The location in the city was great and the breakfast at Goldfinch was amazing. Despite the things that I didn't like about the place (most of it cosmetic) we would stay here again.

The building, facade, decor (once you leave the ground floor), the rooms and facilites were dated and in need of a face lift. The day beds and chairs in the pool yard were stained and in need of replacing. The pool itself had tiles missing, stained lining and wasn't clean. The beds and pillows in the room were old and lumpy and in need of replacing. There were blood stains on the doonas in our room and the towels had grey stains on them some days. The perception you get of the place from reception is amazing and modern but definately does not match what is presented to you once you get up to the rooms.

The location is excellent and safe to walk too. Room was comfortable, quiet and curtained well to block sun. Room was ready early which was an actual bonus, very accommodating. Staff are so friendly and look very professional.

Don’t like paying for wifi. Wish I could get the breakfast when the people I’m travelling with don’t want to or have special dietary needs that don’t fit with the restaurant.

I had never been to this Hotel before and it was right in the City Centre convenient for QPAC where we were attending a show. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good and set us up for the day !

We used our iPhone to locate the hotel, entering the Mercure Brisbane as our destination and ended up at the hotel Vero which apparently used to be the Mercure. I I had known that it was now called the Pullman Mercure it would have helped ! There was no info re Internet access made available to us at check in and when we phoned reception we were told that we had to return to reception to become Accor Club members (for free) then we could pay $10 for access which would be refunded - not good. I have stayed at a number of Hotels in Brisbane and this is the first time I have had to pay for car parking. $100 for 2 days was excessive and puts me off using this Hotel in the future.

My wife and I stayed one night for an anniversary, so we could spend time in the Brisbane CBD. The hotel was comfortable, well location, clean and we had a good time. Thank you.

I think the pool should be open later than 7pm, perhaps up to 9? It's not a large pool, and during the day there were lots of kids playing in it, so not much room for a couple to relax on their weekend away. No problem with the kids playing in it, but since dinner is around 6-7, there's no time after dinner to come up to the pool. Having it open later would allow kids to have plenty of time in it during the day, and couples could use it later.

Location excellent Room excellent Inclusive breakfast superb pool, a real treat quiet room friendly staff

The pool surrounds offered very little shade from the heatwave conditions. Pool needs and upgrade as tiles off in many places. Open up the top bar sitting area during the day for pool users access. Umbrellas would be better than current, ineffectual shade provided. The breakfast reception was very slow with a huge line waiting a long time to get in. This could easily be fixed wuth a better system on the desk.

I loved how friendly the reception staff were. I also loved how I requested toilet paper on my 2nd day there, and upon delivery the housekeeping staff asked me if I had my room serviced to which I told him no, then I was asked if I would like a service and I gladly accepted! The lady who serviced my room was amazing! Job well done & so polite! Apologised for interrupting my meal I had just had delivered (I told her it’s not a problem at all!) then once finished asked if there was anything else I needed done and I told her no thanks. Amazing experience all over!

I couldn’t order meals online but a quick call to the restaurant solved that issue.

location was my main decision to choose the mecure as I was a short stay pass through guest expertise of all staff operations was outstanding one small gripe of which is by no means a black mark and from my hotel experience I’m thinking may have been a housekeeping supervisor was doors opening and closing but also we need to remember check ins and outs are always 24/7 among hotel chains and ps my work hours pretty much go around the clock either way so this is nothing major pretty busy location and was informed from my driver into the city of the major gathering of USA officials which is obviously a substantial number of guests to attend to operate for liaise with and provide functional rooms food and drinks etc the restaurant on ground floor looked amazing of which I didn’t dine in but observed the presentation of food from there whilst having a few quiet words with security/ room service man in the lift going to my room one night and actually enjoyed the calming sound in the lift as a multi spectrum musicologist of 30 years when coming back from getting around Brisbane valet and front desk operated excellent and also as a smoker and hospitality worker in past job experience must apologise if any smell came across in the room because I took all buts and most cigarette trips well away from the foyer etc but also don’t believe in littering the gutters city’s or paths and so on with them so some did end up in my bin upstairs clean well structured room design didn’t have any housekeeping service on the room but this is no issue as I’m from a highly educated military and services family anyhow so all in room towels soap and shower needs were efficient enough for my short stay would like to pass my thanks on to all staff and management and also I show a high level of respect to any worker of these busy establishments so actually even said sorry to the girl mopping the large area around the beautiful artwork and seating concierge foyer area and then proceeded to...

nothing raises my concern

Great convenient, central location and friendly service. Good meals in Goldfinch restaurant while also catering for special dietary requirements. Clean comfortable room. Concierge service very good.

The shower door is of very poor design with water continually saturating the bathmat and floor outside the cubicle. Could sometimes hear noise from the adjacent room. Phone calls to in house services were interrupted with on line static. View to outside somewhat spoilt due to windows not clean on the outside.
