MacArthur Chambers

Macarthur Chambers is excellent and provides a large apartment right in the middle of the city - across the road from the Queen Street Mall. It is comfortable and very central. The apartment had a full sized kitchen, family bathroom, ensuite and powder room, full laundry, dining and living rooms. A great place to relax between jaunts around the city and beyond.

Location was great! Central city, close to Queen St Mall, easy to find. Apartment was very good. History of the building (in terms of General MacArthur's stay there) was very interesting and the museum on the 8th floor was fascinating.

Apartment was great overall. One area that could be easily upgraded would be the cutlery. We were paying top dollar for the apartment but the cutlery definitely wasn't the same standard - not all from the same set, and definitely feeling very cheap. The bed squeaked with any movement, and we were a little surprised to find just a double bed rather than a Queen or King bed in this grade of apartment. Despite this, we would stay there again.

Great location, huge open space and fully self contained unit. Loved the balcony over Queen St. Easy after hours checkin process. Very quiet stay, considering it was so close to the hustle of the mall.

The beds were really very uncomfortable, and on wheels that didn't lock, so the bed moved around with every movement. For the price, a king sized bed would be more appropriate. The couches were not comfortable at all. We could not sit there for long.

Perfect location, central to everything and right above a supermarket. Beautiful building. Loads more character than most hotels. Wonderful, spacious room, the nicest and largest two bedroom suite I can remember staying in. Comfortable, soft beds and lovely pillows.

Clearly lacking in staff right now. No reception at nights or on weekends. There appears to be a backlog on small repairs (we had a broken chair in our room's "office" and one of our bathroom taps didn't work well). Stingy with supplies. We only got two sachets of detergents and soaps, with a note to buy more from the supermarket if we needed more. That doesn't work well for a 4-5 day stay. They do have parking but as with anywhere in downtown Brisbane I'd avoid it if possible. It's difficult to get to and there isn't much of it. Walking, scootering and public transport is much better in Brisbane CBD.

The location is terrific. The apartment is very spacious and quiet. Car parking inexpensive and convenient.

Dish cloth was so cheap it was a rag after one night. Dishwashing brush needs to be thrown out. We were there for five nights but dishwashing liquid, soap, shampoo, tea, coffee etc was only enough for one night. Considering what we were paying for a two bedroom apartment, I thought that was pretty mean. Difficult to adjust the airconditioner.

Location, location, location! Cross the road and your on Queen St Mall, 2 blocks to Central Station and a comfortable walk to Southbank. Apartment was spacious, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an additional toilet. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery etc for self catering. $15 @ night for secure parking was okay.

The view - Couldn’t open curtains, due to office block next door made the apartment dark. The laundry needs a clean, the rest of the apartment presented well. Air conditioning didn’t appear to work in second bedroom when the door was closed.

a lot of character but well kept and modern facilities. easy to communicate with staff regarding after hours check in. good access to parking. good security.

very basic toiletries - just enough to serve its purpose but a small body wash and lotion would be nice, as most travellers like myself won’t bring those things from home, esp if travelling for business with only carry on luggage. A couple more chux cleaning cloths would be handy as well so that it’s easier for us to clean up and tidy after ourselves in the kitchen.

Staff were very accommodating. Our flight was cancelled and we were bumped to the latest flight to Brisbane, staff were very helpful and made late check in very easy and stress free. Accommodation was very comfortable and clean and close to all amenities. Highly recommended and reasonably priced accommodation in the city centre.

We have no complaints, we were very happy with the accommodation, location and price.

The location, spacious living room, and quality fittings exceeded my expectations.

The wifi was unreliable and mostly did not work. A six-night stay called for one or two towel changes - charging for additional towels was poor form. Not being able to store luggage when checking out on the weekend was a disappointment and unprecedented in my experience. The above criticisms did not outweigh the plusses for me, but they did leave my spouse disappointed.

Location was very central. No housekeeping for a four night stay (which was ok for us), desk only manned part time, but able to leave suitcases after check out. Apartment well stocked with plates/ equipment. Beds comfortable.

A bit tricky to get in after hours (an email has been sent with a door code, but I could not access it as I had no wi-fi). Sorted by a phone call eventually.
