Great hotel steeped in history - we loved that aspect of it. The lobby, stairwells and corridors all had lovely artistic/historical touches. Rooms were basic but really spacious and clean. Bed very comfy. We had a little kitchenette which was fabulous for making our own meals from time to time. Front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Location was great - near to a lot of sights - would definitely stay here again

Nothing - we were happy with everything. There is no elevator but we were not concerned at all about having to use stairs (only two floors up). Some people may find this a concern though.

Room was very large with own kitchen facilities including microwave. The hotel is within easy walking distance of two supermarkets to get provisions and was easy to walk to Space Needle for transport to downtown. Waterfront was a 20 minute walk. Close also to Kerry Park for spectacular views. Hotel is in a character building resembling a speakeasy flavour. Floorboards in the room are great and make it feel clean.

Area has some transient/homeless people around. Much of Seattle seems to be similar. They did not cause any problems but it makes the area less comfortable. Note that the building has no elevator so if you are on the top floor you will need to get the luggage up the stairs. Price for the room was steep, but we noted most of Seattle was on the expensive side.

Conveniently located to the major sightseeing areas, the hotel was also close to a number of good restaurants. Its an older style property but our room was large, the beds comfortable and a small kitchen area was a bonus. The staff were just excellent, especially when we first arrived, providing valet parking for our car and helping get our bags into the lobby. There was a private function in the restaurant and so we couldn't access it during our stay but it looked really nice.

Like most of the properties in Seattle, it was overpriced for what they offer. However, it was certainly cheaper than most in that area and as such was value for money in comparison.

The staff members, the man behind the desk were very friendly and accepting. My wife and I like history and the place certainly had that classic, bygone era kind of vibe to it. A nice grocery store was within easy walking distance so we didn't have to eat out. There was a short, pleasant walk to a large food court nearby.

Price was a little steep for us. We usually prefer the Motel 6, cheapo places to stay. The area around the place looked a little run down. Nothing you could do about that I suppose. One idea would be to have a flyer about the history of the place. It was obviously a very plush, glamorous hotel for the wealthy fishing industry at one time.

Fabulously spacious mini-apartment, including the useful kitchenette; not super smart but very comfortable. There's a good supermarket around the corner, so you can self-cater, but also Toulouse Petit restaurant (across the road) is a real treat. Lovely, characterful building and friendly, informative staff. Great location for exploring the grand houses of Queen Anne, with excellent views over the city and water; close to the Space Needle and easy walking distance to the waterfront and sculpture park. A short bus ride to downtown, from a few yards down the road.

The property feels very historic, right down to the floor creeking when you walk on it. The staff were all fantastic, and the room itself (Room 315) was actually more like a small apartment, with a full kitchen, so that was a nice surprise. I also had a view of the Seattle skyline, and there was little street noise due to being around the back of the hotel.

Due to the building being old, the taps seemed to just randomly start dripping in the middle of the night for no reason. In the four nights I was there, the latest I woke up was 5am due to the dripping taps. They weren’t went I went to sleep, so that was frustrating. Also, the bath and shower combo wasn’t great. The bath is very tired looking, with numerous chipped bits, and the shower is not only not height appropriate for anyone over 5’8 (I’m 5’11). The water was also either scolding hot, or cold, with little in between. These are relatively minor issues on an otherwise enjoyable enough stay.

- large room, enough to sleep 4; married couple, and two singles. One of the singles took a queen bed, the other single slept on the sofa bed. - held our luggage for us while we waited for our room since we arrived early - public bathrooms in the lobby, nice to use while waiting for our room - walking to distance to restaurants and shops - having a kitchen especially the refrigerator to keep our drinks cold - we took advantage of the cafe downstairs for breakfast - good matcha iced tea and chorizo burrito and large croissants - historic building, nice design - offers shuttle to the port for cruises ($10 per person) - proximity to pier (we came for a cruise and concert) - proximity to Pledge Climate Arena for a concert

- no elevator so carrying the suitcases up the stairs was a bit inconvenient - no working outlets near the bed, had to use the outlets in the kitchen to charge our phone - creaking floors, but not a deal breaker - just something to note

I loved the charming old style of the hotel. Our room had a little kitchen with table & chairs, dishes and a sink - there's a microwave, but no stove. There are nice robes in the closet, and the everything was super clean. We stayed just one night, arriving at 3:30p and leaving the next morning at 9:15a (we were just visiting a niece for one night on our way home from a wedding). The concierge helped us find street parking (right on the same block as the hotel), and it cost just $5 or $6 (pay online or in a machine that's in front of the hotel). To park in the hotel's garage (valet parking only) is $40 per day. We walked to dinner - Thai restaurant about a 10 min walk, and there is a coffee bar on the corner.

Creaky floors, but that can't be helped! If you don't want to climb stairs, be sure to ask for a ground floor room.

The staff were amazing. Chris at the reception is delightful! Loved him. Johnathan is great. Followed all his suggestions and had the best time in Seattle. Andrew is also a very nice gentleman. Location is PERFECT. A nice walk to everywhere you need to be in Seattle.

No elevators which I was aware of. AC system is old and it's noisy. Could not ever get it right with the temperature either. It was from one extreme to the other and sometimes the sound doesn't let you sleep so I had to keep it off. However, for a short stay, this hotel definitely had the BEST STAFF and loved everything about the location.

Due to a mistake by booking.com and despite having confirmation emails the hotel had no record of our reservation. This was during a very busy summer weekend in Seattle and almost everything was entirely booked. The guest services manager, Christian, went above and beyond to find us a room at the hotel for 2 of the 3 nights we had booked. He even honoured the price we had originally booked for and upgraded us to a one bedroom suite for both nights! He saved this weekend from being a nightmare and we are so grateful!
