Breakfast was a great meal for both of us - on morning 1 I had Eggs Benedict, m2 I chose Kippers, m3 I had a real mix of Eggs and Avocado - bliss! Dinner 1 was in the (old) sunshine Restaurant, now the Bistro, where we both had excellent £21-for 2 Curries; D2 and D3. (my 81st b'day) we took in the Aquitania Restaurant, which was really fabulous, with brilliant service, wonderful food. Most of all, we loved the adjacency to the sea, its fine views, the ice cream parlour opposite the hotel, the excellent outside sitting area, the lovely sitting room ("LOUNGE!") and its fine books there in the display table. Oh! And we had the £21-for-two steak and chips - as tender as they go, quite, quite wonderful - for lunch as we were leaving

We had room 20, Lovey room, lovely garden, n ice bathroom EXCEPT for that enormous bath, with so little to assist you into it! And no soap/shampoo at sitting/lying down height. It needs two or three really stout handles to grip on the way both into and out of this fine bath, and a second soap/shampoo dispenser under the window. However, at 81, I managed twice or three times to get out of that bath - but in another year I won't be able to...

The staff were warm and friendly. Nothing was too much effort. Evening meal was very nice but a little price review is needed. We did not have a sea view but we were a very short walk to the shore.

The bathroom had a step in it which caused us an issue. The Room/Hotel could do with an update and a deep clean(round the taps, door handles, windows, curtains need replacing...)everything looked like it was from a 1966 care home. Sorry, our opinion. There was a strong 1920s theme going on but in our humble opinion it needs a makeover. Keep the 20s theme but redesign the ground floor, make reception more welcoming. Car park was very small, reversing into the car park is strongly advised. Breakfast room, again they need to look at the layout with fresh eyes, i must say, the quality of the cooked food was very high.

Very good breakfast. Well presented and friendly service Dinners were excellent and reasonably priced. Very nice attentive waiting staff.

The parking lot is very difficult. The hotel really needs to check that people are parking as carefully as possible. Parking lines might help. Trying to enter and exit took a good five/ten minutes in moving small distances backwards and forwards so as to avoid hitting another vehicle. Although I cannot be a 100% sure I think it is likely that one vehicle trying to exit the space scrapped my offside front wing. It certainly wasn't there when I arrived and don't think it could have happened elsewhere.

Lovely spot just off the seafront. Breakfast was great and the breakfast staff-especially Sat/Sun- really friendly and helpful. The nutty granola bar things were magic, good cooked choices and of good quality. I really appreciated having decent bread for toast. Dinner was also great and the service all round was excellent, from arrival to checking out. Our room was spacious and comfortable-extra heater useful as it was so cold outside.

Road access complicated due to road closure and I did not fancy the very tight turn into the small car park from the back lane.

Loved the modern decor of the lounge and restaurants, mixed with the older style decor of the bar. We’d stayed before in our room where the bed was super comfy and the bathroom very stylish with the bath which fills up from the ceiling and the TV you can view whilst in the bath!

Parking can be a problem, but we were lucky this time getting parked so we could off load our luggage. However, If the carpark is full, there is street parking overnight which is free.

I loved out two night stay here. The location was great, right by the seafront and a lovely beach. We started our fight morning with a swim. The hotel itself exceeded expectations. The bed was great; large and comfy. The shower/bath was also great, with lovely toiletries and robes. Breakfast was very good, with a good selection of cooked mains as well as the cold buffet. We had lunch (crab sandwiches) at the restaurant, and it was great. We hope to stay again.

Food was excellent for evening dinners. both of the serving staff were excellent. However breakfast on the Saturday morning they were understaffed for the number of guests and I felt sorry for them. They did so well under pressure for the numbers they had to serve. Management need to look at this problem as surely they would know the number of booked guests and staff it accordingly. Some guests were frustrated at the wait which was plain to see; personally we were in no hurry but I would reiterate I felt sorry for the two ladies who were serving, who did so well under the avoidable pressure.

The reception staff were helpful and courteous. The restaurant/bar staff were competent although slightly amateurish! Breakfast was fine with good choice. Evening meal and Dining Room were also fine, but expected a wider menu choice! Quality of food was just acceptable. Bedroom was excellent, furnished nicely and clean and efficient.

Our bedroom view was horrid! Some prices in the restaurant were fairly high for the quality of the food served. But not disastrously so!

Immaculately clean, beautiful room, staff very friendly. Very cute hotel in a lovely village by the sea, could sit and watch the boats for hours. Dinner was exceptional - they weren't really sure whether they still has a Michelin star as the chef has changed, but whoever was cooking did an excellent job, especially the starters and mains (maybe puddings weren't their preferred thing!). Breakfast decent and breakfast staff absolutely lovely. Room bigger than expected and bathroom lovely with a good shower and everything needed provided.

Weirdly, although we had about 6 pillows, they were all very hard which wasn't our taste. I suspect anyone on the 6ft or taller mark will find their feet hanging off the bed! The room was quite cold (the radiator didn't get very hot but we did have an extra free-standing radiator to help) which was fine for us but might bother others. Really though, it's just picky things!

I have stayed in a good number of hotels. This outshone all of they, an amazing room. Two different style of restaurants and a bar with a genuine pub atmosphere. First class breakfast and good variety on the dinner menu. A two minute walk to the seafront. Enjoy the Isle of Wight staying at this wonderful hotel.
