Holiday Inn Express Kettering, an IHG Hotel

5 star service in a budget family friendly hotel! The staff were lovely from manager Marie’s late night warm welcome, to Lucy and her colleagues’ exceptionally smooth running friendly breakfast service! There was also a lovely guy working during breakfast who’s name I didn’t get and nothing was too much for him to do. My daughter forgot her dolly unicorn and it was arranged to be posted back to us! This hotel is fit for purpose with lovely friendly staff who made us feel welcome and comfortable from the minute we walked in. We want to say thank you and keep it up!

Not so much anything to dislike but just to note to others that there is slight confusion with two Holiday Inn hotels close to each other one in Corby and this one down the road from it in between Corby-Kettering. This however is easily resolved by popping the postcode into SatNav instead of simply putting “Holiday Inn” like we initially did.

When we arrived the two staff members were very welcoming, the young lady was also clearing tables at breakfast and it was a joy to see her friendly face. Unfortunately I did not get her name. She was a young happy Scotish lady and I thank her.

The access to the hotel is extremely dangerous and I have been informed there have been a number of accidents reported. I think the hotel should recommend that all visitors go down to the round about and come up on the side the hotel is located. Also the exit, on reaching the traffic lights is another extremely concerning problem for any one who does not know the area. We vosoted family and all said it was a road they would avoid wherever possible.

Very prompt reply from manager to questions. Quiet room despite being next to lift. Cleverest bathroom layout so entrance door can become toilet only door, allowing access to shower and basin. Very comfortable bed and good breakfast Greener things eg dispenser bottles of dove rather than many miniatures, jam in bowls rather than individual portions ironing board available in room, though not used

just a bit far from Kettering station, taxi needed on industrial estate, but didn't bother me many guests going to same place, little noticeboard to share lifts would have been great, I understand most were picked up, just a possible help v minor: hot choc sachets would be nice in room with tea/coffee

We came at 11.35pm and t5he staff were fine courteous and all we could expect at that late hour. We did like the fact that the toilet had its own door in a small bathroom. We've never come across that before and it was a definite plus plus! Other hotels should copy.

Usual complaint - why only two tea bags and four milk containers in the room. If you have a tea when you get there, there's nothing for the morning. Why not at least double them.

Clean, comfortable room and a good size, friendly, helpful staff. Reasonably large car park, with plenty of room.

Signage from the road wasn't great, and it is off a complicated junction. A bit far from the town centre, 1.5 miles, walkable, but not convenient. Could have done with a second person helping on the breakfast buffet, there was only one person, who was working really hard but couldn't keep up with demand from 20-30 people who were eating at the time.

The staff at reception were superb, very helpful and happy in their work. They booked us to have the room until 2pm as we were all going to a Northern Soul all nighter at the Athletic club and we were not getting in until at least 6am Sunday morning. Which was a great gesture. Thank you. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom too, clean and a good shower. Breakfast was okay , plenty of it. We did not stay until 2pm, as we had to get home. It was a good hotel.

The room was clean tidy with lovely towels . Plenty of tea coffee and milk and easy to obtain more if needed. Staff were friendly and approachable. One member of staff went out of her way to ensure my nephew had breakfast when there was only brown bread left and he wanted white bread . A lovely atmosphere.

The room was clean and had everything we needed. Staff were very helpful when we needed more tea, coffee etc. Excellent soundproof windows in our room (they were resurfacing the road nearby). Beds were very comfortable and the bedding was very clean. Breakfast was delicious and there was a very good choice of food to eat. Staff were all very friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Staff was exceptionally good, particularly staff members serving at breakfast time. Hygiene and cleanliness was very good Quality of breakfast was very good.

We expected breakfast to have more options specially cheese was missed, however, it was nice and filling.

Room has every facility you will need, a hairdrier that actually works, and an iron and ironing board. Breakfast is back to help yourself which is great for fussy eaters like me. Staff on reception were so welcoming. Great experiance.

Sofa's appear to have been replaced by chairs and tables, we missed somewhere more relaxing to have a drink from the bar on a late night return to the hotel.
