Hotel Don Curro

Everything was perfect. We arrived via car and were a little hesitant as the satnav appears to direct you through some pedestrian only roads once you are a minute or two away but we were wrong and it all turned out ok in the end. You can park just outside the entrance whilst you offload your luggage and then they direct you to a nearby underground car park (plaza del marina?) and you pay for parking via the hotel at a discounted price so it was excellent as we had hired an SUV and the Carpark was very spacious. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious (especially the Spanish tortilla and the potato whirls ). Best of all is the location. You will not regret booking with this hotel.

Excelent location in the heart of the city, near the Cathedral and the port. They have parking lot ( 20 Euro/night) and they will park your car. Probably is a narrow one Very good Internet if you need.

Small room, with a certain smell. Probably of not being used. The bathroom is covered with wallpaper in the shower area. Also the sink. A much to obvious improvisation. For the breakfast at 10 Euro / pers you can have a nice one in the area surrounding the hotel. The breakfast in the hotel is cheap, with the worst cofee I have ever experienced. They do not have a regular expresso machine to be able to buy one. Overall is too expensive ( 159 Euro/ night) for what you get

Couldn't be a better location. Very busy hotel with lots of "overnighters" but staff were extremely efficient. Had excellent lunch in the dining room. Air con didn't go off with the lights so it was possible to keep the room cool (very hot weather during my stay).

Needs updating but the rooms are big. Needs grab rails and a walk in shower rather than a bath. No English Tv except for news channels. Steps at front entrance could be a problem to some people.

we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Everyhing was almost perfect. The breakfast was good. The only downside of the breakfast was that all meats were from pig. It would have been nice if you also have chicken fillet for example. The location was excellent. It was in the centre. The family room was also really big.

There are no parking places in the neighbourhood so we parked our car a couple of streets further. So we had to walk to the car or the hotel for at least 10 minutes everyday. Also as mentioned we would have liked if all the meat wasn't pork.

(1) Excellent location right in the heart of the historic town of Málaga. Perfect for taxi collection and drop-off. The hotel fulfills its three star rating. (2) The breakfast was pretty good, laid out in continental fashion with cooked options, come traditional Spanish elements and fruit. The catering staff were extremely efficient, making sure to clear and provide tables as necessary. (3) By far, the room cleanliness, organisation and standards deserve a particular mention, we went to the extend of leaving our house-keeper a Gracias card, because the standards to which she maintained the rooms were super for a three-star hotel. She never failed to have the room spotless, and organised all of our items with such attention to detail and care. She was a truly professional and hotel room attendant. We really enjoyed returning to our cool and superbly prepared room during the height of the afternoon temperatures (30 degrees in August).

(1) Certainly, there should be a kettle in the room, the actual items for preparing tea and coffee may not be necessary - although for three-star they probably should be - many visitors originating from countries globally would expect a kettle in the room. Additionally, we were attending a wedding and (2) required an iron to remove the creases from our shirts only to discover that the reception's only offer was a professional laundry service - not necessary, a quick iron to borrow is all that was required. (3) The reception staff were professional if not a tad curt, surly even, which was not the best when arriving at 11 p.m. after a three-hour flight and taxi drive.

Location is perfect, you can arrive to the most important tourist places by walk. Transport, restaurants, stores, everything is very close. Customer service was really nice, room had a good size, bed as well. I would say, the best was the customer service.

Maybe the only 2 things not very nice, wifi didn't work very well, sometimes it worked and sometimes not. Second thing, noise isolation between rooms is not the best; for us it wasn't a big deal but if you wake up with any noise, just consider this, sometimes you can hear TV, bathroom or even conversations from other rooms.

Fabulous central location with all the best of Málaga on the doorstep! 3 mins walk from airport bustop. 3 mins to the marina, same again in the other direction for the cathedral and palace. Enormous room, clean and comfortable and staff were super friendly. Didn't visit the bar/ restaurant so can't comment on these.

A bit of noise from the street below (not bars/restaurants thankfully) and pipes/showers from other rooms could be heard in ours. A kettle in the room would have taken the facilities from very good to excellent!

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and as soon as we arrived, offered help with bags taken up to our rooms. Good air conditioning - meaning lovely, cool hotel and rooms - a must for such warm weather outside! The rooms were immaculate and comfortable, and buffet breakfast was delicious with a very good selection, and again - friendly and helpful staff in the dining area. Hotel location was absolutely perfect - just a couple of minutes away from the central shopping streets and ‘old town’ so we didn’t have to walk for long before finding numerous tapas bars, bodegas, shops, and museums. We were spoilt for choice! Despite the hotel being close to the restaurants and bars, we didn’t hear any noise from them during the night. We arrived during a festival time, and I have to commend the clean up team as the town was spotless every morning after the street fiestas. Malagueta beach and the harbour for boat tours and market is only a 15/20 minute walk away, and train stop another 15 minute walk away, which can take you to airport. Perfect! One of our favourite spots in the city to sit and cool down, was a lovely tropical park -Parque de Malaga- with cute parrots flying from tree to tree. I would recommend this hotel, and happily choose to stay again when I next visit Malaga.

Only thing was the location of the toilet - as it was very close to the opposite wall, with knees almost touching the wall. I think a taller person than me might be uncomfortable. This may only be an issue in my room however, as it was a single room, so other hotel rooms may have larger bathrooms, with more space in front of toilet. :)

Being very close to the historical part of the city, Don Curro is very well situated. The room and facilities were very, very nice and the staff was very polite and helpful... and efficient ! I will not hesitate to recommend strongly this hotel to anyone visiting Malaga ! And Malaga itself is a very nice city ! All in all, I had a very good visit in Malaga and Don Curro was a big part of it !

I cannot think of anything that I did not like at Don Curro... of course, there are always things that can be improved.... the elevators were a bit small... but they have 2, which is sufficient, I never waited very long for the elevator (I was on the sixth floor)... they had nice glasses made of glass in the bathroom, which is more 'classy' than plastics cups... maybe they could put a little coffee machine in the rooms so we could make our own coffee when we want... even though there are many coffee shops close by !

Hotel is placed at the very center of Malaga so it’a close to literally everything in city, no need for taxi or renting car if you’re not planning to leave the city. If yes, train station is just 10 minutes away and it’s easy to find. Staff was really helpful explaining how to get there and they were able to help with any questions, view from the room was very nice too! Definitely recommend this place, amazing value for the price

Shower could use some more cleaning especially the ground
