Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel & Spa

This was our third time in the Coopmanhuijs. This hotel runs like clockwork and everything is spot on! The staff and GM are superfriendly and and they seem one happy family, they radiate a positive energy. The Coopmanhuijs ticks all the boxes, (perfect location in the beating heart of Stellenbosch, great terrace, great food and wines, nice spa and pool, and especially the warm and genuine hospitality stands out. Would absolutely recommend. Big thank you to Suzaan, Angelika, William, Neal, Zuzu, Busi, and all other wonderful staff. Thanks so much for making us feel welcome and at home. See you next year! We stayed here late December 2023. If you want an oasis of peace in the middle of Stellenbosch, Coopmanhuijs is the place to stay. It is in the middle of town, but once you walk through the front doors, you feel the calmness. This is only amplified by the staff and the décor. From William the concierge who was most helpful with tips about where to go and ready with any assistance we needed, to Nikita on reception when we signed in, to Primrose who served us our breakfast and lunch most times, we were spoiled. These are the only some of the staff we had contact with, but everyone was most welcoming and friendly. Definitely worth al look. You will not be disappointed.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel & Spa in Stellenbosch! Every staff member went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and we loved everything including the spacious and well equipped room, lovely bathroom with nice Charlotte Rhys products, daily update on the weather and load-shedding as well as the treat (such a nice touch!), the friendly turn-down service, plus then a great freshly prepared breakfast on top. Can’t recommend this hotel and its team highly enough. Thank you for another superb stay!

Coopmanhuijs Hotel is in a very central situation in Stellenbosch, and the visitor has a huge choice of coffee shops, restaurants and wine bars in the same street. Such a lovely atmosphere. Loved the traditional decor in bedrooms and public spaces which gave an authentic Cape feel. The restaurant is very highly regarded, the food is delicious and they always seem to have a space for hotel residents, even if fully booked. The staff are all wonderful and go above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable.

Load-shedding (electricity blackouts) happened daily or more than once daily. Obviously not the hotel's fault but it did have a bit of an impact on our stay although staff are heroic at keeping the kitchen operational etc. There didn't seem to be a generator to take over when the electricity cut out, as far as I could see.

Coopmanhuiis Boutique Hotel & Spa Hotel for one night on the way to Franschhoek where we stayed two nights. We would have loved to stay longer as the staff were super friendly. I rate it excellent value with a lovely room. On our arrival the staff took care of our car out the front and then served us a glass of champagne in the front room with a fire. We had dinner at Helen's Restaurant and ordered the set menu with tasting wines - really delicious and great value.

Old world style and charm with a high level of attentiveness to our needs. The fact that the hotel is located in old buildings that are cleverly combined gives it a distinctive idiosyncrasy. The valet parking is invaluable given the hotel’s location.

The historical nature of the hotel means that the rooms are not large, but that is to be expected.

Our room was really well equipped, very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was well laid out and there was the opportunity to order from a selection of cooked items. The hotel is centrally located and the general ambiance was excellent. One evening we had ate in and the meal was superb.

Not keen on the parking aspect. We had to ask someone to get our car each time we went out and then park it when we returned. It's quite a busy street and sometimes we had to double park whilst waiting for someone to come and park it for us. I can understand the point as there is no room at the hotel to park but it was just a little inconvenient.

In an amazing location, with very friendly staff this is a beautiful gem. It has great breakfast, and everything was perfectly clean.

Our room was on the small end, we had an issue having 2 large suitcases open. Also, for light sleepers it’s hard to tune out the noise from kitchen, or other guests eating in the courtyard.

The location is very convenient and there are many restaurants/bars/cafes around the hotel. We had dinner at the restaurant (Helena’s restaurant) and it was fantastic. All staff are super friendly and professional. Their valet parking service is convenient. Breakfast was also amazing and we really enjoyed staying here.

Such a pretty hotel, right in the centre of town. The team could not have been more helpful. Valet parking, complimentary coffee on our very early arrival, and as requested a downstairs room. And the food was excellent.

There’s not a lot a place like this can do about loadshedding, but it did mean the room was quite hot at night and the generator next door was loud. The room wasn’t huge but that may have been because we asked for one downstairs.
