The Balmoral

The room was great, warm bedding, TV with channels playing, generator when there is load shedding, fridge, welcome drinks(water), enough towels. Restuarant on site. Great location.

The shower didn't work properly, ended up using the bath tub.

The stuff were very friendly, rooms were cleaned every day it was a very comfortable stay thank you the balmoral

It was a very busy street not so safe to walk there at night

The room and hotel as a whole was spotless. At first it seemed old but it was exceptional. The staff were really friendly and helpful. What else was outstanding was the staff from the reception to the maids to the valets were all so neatly dressed in suits. Makes the hotel so professional. Unfortunately we did not eat at the hotel as we had friends at other hotels so we always met out and ate at other venues, however, I did look at Balmorals menu and it is really impressive. Next time I will definately have a meal here. Our room everytime we entered always had a fresh smell. In fact everywhere in the hotel smelled so clean and fresh.

My room vanity light didnt work, room also was very dark. Lighting can be improved. We battled to get the bath tap to stay in shower mode. It kept slipping off. The toilet bowl kept running, if maintenance can sort that out as well. The lift is very tiny. Apart from these minor issues, the hotel is fabulous and I will definately recommend to others.

I liked everything about the hotel & their staff who are so friendly & helpful. I enjoyed especially the room I slept in (Room 311), not forgetting the cleanliness of the rooms, affordable price and lastly but not list, the hotel is it at the right, actual perfect location. I'd like to have the same room (311) when i come for a visit again. Again thank you for hosting us with warm hands.

Nothing so far everything was so fine, except the breakfast which was a bit expensive when you want to buy it cash, not included in booking package.

Balmoral was the place of my wedding reception. Hence we came back for our anniversary stay. We enjoyed the whole atmosphere (inside the hotel). The room was spacious although small. Very smart setup of the room. We loved the look and the vibe that it gave us. The breakfast was on point. I do feel the steak and omelette could have had a bit more flavour. My wife enjoyed her stay and that makes me content. Water was always hot when I needed it and I must say hats off to the staff! They never refused and always served me happily. Theres more I can say but lets leave it at that... short and sweet.

I was given a hair dryer upon request. No problem there. Unfortunately the 2 pin connections in the room did not match the one on the hair dryer so my wife could not actually dry her hair properly. I also did not like the fact that I got so full I could not eat more of the delicious breakfast! Haha Please ensure the window sills are brushed off as this fine particles came in little by little with the wind. No big deal. Oh yes and the WiFi dropped which was a bummer

On arrival security until departure security was great, the reception & with warm welcoming and support was so touching like they knew my circumstances in life. My mom with dementia was very comfortable and felt very special and the staff assisted when help requested. Thumbs up to all employees and even to the travellers were so kind to us. I had exceptional Christmas time and reted just wished had booked 4 more days.

The not sound proofed walls and the physical disadvantage ramp in the reception not available worse night time its scary to use alternative. The system needs to indicate that i.d copy is required.

The room met my expectations, was big enough and I enjoyed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. I, without any doubt will recommend the hotel to most of the people around me... Excellent indeed - I can't wait for my next vacation and occupy my favorite room again. It really made my vacation superp. Thank you Balmoral..!

Just a small malfunction of the basin tap but then after reporting, it was quickly attended.

We received a warm welcome at The Balmoral. The breakfast was great and rooms we're clean. The Manager Zaheera went out of her way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I will be coming back soon. All the staff get a 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating from me.

Being a Christians I try to respect all faiths. Yet the sound of the Muslims prayers was so frustrating in the street they put the sound so hard that it actually fills the hotel with the sound. I am glad that the managers are making plan with my next stay.

Friendly staff, clean, excellent location to beach and other places in Durban like the stadium and Ushaka Marine world, clubs too. Aircon works. Bedding is comfortable.

Show pressure is not great. There is only one elevator for the entire hotel. Parking when you arrive is quite tight but there are long term arrangements that can be made. The manager of the hotel is not social at all. She walked around looking very angry and just causing tension in the atmosphere. Only the receptionists were friendly. the restaurant staff seemed upset all the time, so we only used the restaurant once. The hotel only supplied one toilet roll at a time which become a little annoying because every second day we had to call reception for a new roll. There is no swimming pool at the hotel not gym facilities.
