Aparthotel Oporto Palace0

Aparthotel Orporto Palace in two bedroom apartment which was very secure, spacious, clean and well equipped. Check in was at Aparthotel Orporto Anselmo 4 minutes walk on the next street. We were close to Bolhao metro station which goes direct to Porto Airport and Matosinhos Beach. We were close to the shopping centre which has a rooftop bar. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants. It was an 18 minute walk to Ponte Luis Bridge and a further 8 minute walk across the bridge to Jardim do Morro which has outdoor music so you can take your own refreshments. We also used the Flixbus and Bolt app for good value and comfortable transport to travel to other areas in Portugal.

There is no air conditioning, however we left the lounge window open and the bedroom doors open at night to allow cool air to circulate whilst sleeping which worked out okay. The apartment had two double beds and we would have preferred two single beds in one of the bedrooms.

The place was beautiful, so nicely decorated, spacious and bright with many windows. The balcony is such a nice spot to sit and was off the main road so it wasn't too noisy. The beds were comfortable and A/C units worked well. We were allowed to use the pool at the hotel where the reception is located which was an awesome bonus.

When we would return from being out all day, we would be hit with a bad smell likely from the dishwasher or sewage system. It would quickly dissipate after having the windows open again. The building is on a busy road and is a bit of a walk to metro stations and the city centre but Bolt/Uber is super cheap there and was an easy solution.

The apartment we stayed in (A) was very comfortable. It was clean, had everything you need for a short stay in the kitchen. It has a good location. We did not sit in the garden as it is below the street level and it wasn’t pleasant due to cars passing by and the smell of fumes. Also in bed you could hear the cars bumping on the street but it wasn’t a big deal. At the beginning we thought perhaps that is caused by the metro. Staff was very friendly and helpful. You can park your car inside which was great.

It was beautiful apartment in good location. The parking was great. The kitchen was comfortable and big. The check-in was in another place, but it was not a problem at all. There was a parking place near the office so we did it by car in a few minutes, but it's also two minutes walking, if you don't want to do it by car.

We got a bottle of mineral water as a present, but there was no there were no more even the most elementary products, such as salt, pepper, tea, coffee, sugar. That is, it was difficult to cook in such a large, comfortable kitchen. The bathroom had only one small hook for four towels. There was no place in the room for them either. There were drawers in the closet, but they couldn't be pulled out because the closet didn't open all the way because of the bed.

Check-in was just around the corner and handled efficiently. The two staff members that we dealt with during our stay were extremely helpful and went out of their way to assist in an issue that one of group had. Flat had a reasonably good location near the top of the main pedestrian thoroughfare which was an easy walk away and although on a busy street was quite quiet. The flat was quite modern & spacious for 4 people with two en suite bathrooms.

One bathroom had a sewage odour that was impossible to resolve even though the management did visit the flat upon our request. The internet was weak and the main router unreliable. More seriously the wifi is not password protected meaning that it is insecure. This should be an easy fix. Main door to the street had a code but only one physical key was provided to the flat itself which was a bit problematic given that there were four of us. Perhaps a key safe at the entrance to the flat or keypad for the flat would be useful addition.

The first room that we were allocated was in a basement and it was noisy (from the road outside) and there was a bad smell from the bathroom. We complained and were allocated a much larger room in another building. My ratings above are based on the second room which was quiet, spacious and comfortable. However this room would have been a lot more expensive if we had booked it from the beginning. The facilities were adequate (TV was small though) and the breakfast was good. Location of second room was better than the first but location is away from town centre. The staff were very helpful throughout and our request to move was accepted without any argument.

The problems with the first room should have been identified before we moved in, I can't believe that other guests put up with the smell.

The location was great - quiet and a little away from the city but also close enough to straddle home in a quick walk. The room was very European style with nice juliet balcony looking onto the street. Nice to be a few floors high. Elevator right at my door. Easy check out and easy check in. Very discreet front entrance (good and bad)

There was an interesting foggy smell as I arrived - thinking it may not have been aired out in a while or so. The room did not look like the main picture that is advertised (this is their sister property on the street behind where you have to connect with reception to pay fees). I initially felt mislead but then enjoyed the room I was given! The front door is discreet so it did take me a while to find it and get to my room etc - had to call reception to get some code etc

The team were very helpful and lovely to deal with. Apartment spacious and great value. Great location with easy walk into the centre. Dishwasher provided (would be great to have more than one tablet for a longer stay but not a big issue). No washing machine but really good value laundromats nearby. Overall a great stay!

Beautiful duplex appartement in the vila, which is located near the Market and only 10 minites walking distance to city center. It's peaceful in the nights. Beds are very comfortable and the appartement is very clean and spacious. The view from the appartement is beautiful. There is also free parking spot in front of the vila. Would defenetly recomend!

We really like the space, we had a pleasant surprise with the Duplex we booked, as we thought we only had a bedroom with double bed. The kitchen amenities were modern, the living area spacious and everything is simple and quality. We had to check in at a different location and Google Maps was helpful in reaching the hotel itself.

We were at the top floor and we had huge bags, do be prepared in case you are traveling with heavy luggage we had to take the stairs
