Scandic Neptun

We caught the ferry between Stavanger and Bergen, and walked to the hotel from the ferry terminal. It's a short walk, but for my aging mother's knees it was a bit too far and we had to take a short break about halfway there. The hotel itself is located very close to the Bergen Visitor Center, and the iconic Bergen waterfront (Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf) is just across the bay from there. Breakfast was fantastic, but unlike many of the Norwegian hotels where I've stayed, they do charge a small fee if you're going to take extra food for a lunch. There is no evening meal.

Only a very tiny complaint, but the shower (for me, 6 ft, about 160 lb) was quite cramped. I did have room to turn around, but not much else (I occasionally hit the wall with my arm).

The room was really nice and big. We had some issues with our fridge and they exchanged it immediately, staff always friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, perfect location to reach all sights on foot!

I would probably come back here as it was really good value for money, but I think the interior design of the lobby could be improved, it is not cohesive at all, more like random pieces put together. The room also could be better designed, for instance we had a TV facing a wall with no possibility to sit in front of it. Still, as you do not come to Bergen to watch TV, for us it was not a big problem and we would visit again.

The hotel is centralky located. The rooms are big. The breakfasr is good and it was not crowded. The lady at the reception was very nice to give us keys a littke earlier the offical check in time and helped with parking - apparenly the is a parking garage with exit ~15m frim the hotel entrance and hotel guests get there 15% discount

Thw hotel (at least, rooms) is clearly outdated and requires some innovation. It doesn't negatively impact our stay, however. It is a little noicy if you open a window at night due to the central location.

The hotel was excellently-located for a stay in Bergen. The room was clean and comfortable. The original room we were given had a strong smell of drains but the staff on reception changed this immediately for us. The second room we were given was nicer but smaller than our original.

Breakfast was exceedingly busy. We tried to go at a time when it was quieter (ie before 9.00 am) but it was still very busy and one did feel hassled by all of the other guests. The hotel does have a corporate feel to it, even in the rooms.

Breakfast was first class. The spread of options was unbelievable, but of course we do not travel much and what we experienced may well be normal to many people, but it was certainly above our expectations.

If we have any complaint at all, it is that the hot water was not very hot and the globe in the light over the study table was not working. Other than this, we were quite happy with our 3 day stay at Scandic Neptun and would certainly use this as our accommodation choice if ever in Bergen again

Perfect location in the heart of Bergen. Everything so close! It's easy to take tram from the airport. When you stay at Scandic Neptun, you will definitely not miss the early start of the fjord tour, because the boat dock is very close. Hanseatic Quarter of Bryggen, Funicular to the top of Fløyen, KODE - Art Museums, The Grieg Hall, Fishmarket, Bergen Aquarium is also not far - we walked everywhere. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was very professional and pleasant. The room was very clean and tidy, there was even a fridge and a kettle for boiling water. Breakfast - excellent - a choice for all tastes and, despite the large number of people, we never had to wait, everything was replenished in a flash! We left with the desire to return!

The hotel is perfectly located close to the famous Bryggen area, just over the bay. We had a very nice breakfast. The rooms were clean and the bigger one had a very nice view from a window.

There is no parking place, we had to use a public parking house. There should have been some reduction of price if parking is registered in the hotel, but the terminal didn't work and hotel personnel wasn't able to fix it or help us to reach the customer support of the parking company.

The staff was very kind. Breakfast was good, my sister is vegan, and she didn't have much choice but she did eat something. It could be better

Room old , from the chair the seat was broken. One pillow on the bed.One lamp didn't work, there was hair on the sofa (I mean from an animal) there was a stain in the middle of the sofa, and the bathroom door on the inside was really dirty general cleaning could be better. For two nights we paid 3052 crowns I expected much more for that money,not worth that much money

Great breakfast spread included in price of stay; eliminates a lot of hassle. Helpful front desk staff. Staff spoke good English. Good central location to harbor and key sites. We were given a room with a good view.

The only outlet in our bathroom did not function, so I had to blowdry my hair in living room. Our hairdryer was in poor condition too, but when I asked for a replacement, an improved one was sent up within the hour. I could smell cigarette smoke in the halls of 4th floor and we had a kid with us. Had to hold our breath. Is smoking allowed indoors there?

Excellent location, just one street away from the fish market. We did not have to buy Bergen pass or tickets, everything is in walking distance. Excellent breakfast, nice staff.

I booked a room with two separated beds, but turned out we have to move the beds to be separated, otherwise it's a double bed. Chips crisps remained from the previous guest and a used old spice on the floor next to the bed, but basically the good location compensated these inconveniences
