Comfort Hotel Bergen

The hotel room is decent, although nothing special. It's fairly comfortable, and the bathroom is ok. The breakfast is pretty good, and we liked the location of the hotel (maybe 10 mins walking distance to Bryggen). The neighborhood is also very lovely.

They didn't clean our room during the whole stay (3 days), as their policy is that cleaning is offered every 4th day of your stay. This may be ok for some guests, but I really dislike having to clean my own room and ask for extra towels during a vacation. I also don't like that I got a bunch of emails asking me to check in online.

The staff were really helpful and approachable and were more than happy to go above and beyond to facilitate any requests. The breakfast was fantastic! There was a really wide range available which was of really high quality. The communal areas were a great place to grab a drink and plan the day. The location of the hotel was perfect for my stay and was really close to travel and tourist destinations.

The only slight negative was that my room was a little tired looking compared to promotional materials that I had viewed online but the bathroom was great and the cleanliness was exceptional so it was not a real problem at all.

The location was central but not in a crowded area, therefore it was the perfect mix between quietness and proximity to the city centre. We chose this area as fairly close to the ferry terminal. The hotel itself is basic but still well equipped and clean. The rooms and the toilets are quite spacious even if the view is not the greatest. The mini-shop at the reception is a great idea for a snack or coffee anytime.

The information around the breakfast, which was different from the information provided on the website. We had a ferry departure at 7:45 and we were counting on the breakfast served from 06:30 - on that day however they had planned to open later (07:30) and this info was nowhere to be found until we checked in (it was a national holiday but we didn't know that it would extend to 2 days instead of just 1). Luckily on the departure morning the kitchen let us in a bit earlier so we could grab something to eat, but we didn't receive any help from the reception when we asked the day before.

It felt like a good choice, easy, pleasant, no fuss. Plentiful breakfast with extensive choice, good location for attractions, restaurants and shops. Bedroom and bathroom were good enough size with everything we needed for our 3 night stay. We would stay again.

Not much we did not like as we were out and about most of the time. Maybe tea/coffee facilities in room would be good but you can get a hot drink at the Barception with 1 free drink daily so that makes up for it. Other items you might want that are not in the room are available from reception on asking.

Located very close to the harbour and the seafood market. Easy walking distance from most of the happening places in town. Quiet neighborhood and good helpful staff. There is a comfortable sitting area and a ping pong table for those who are interested. There is a room for ironing clothes as well.

Not much of a view from the room. The breakfast was adequate but the quality could be better. The biggest hurdle is rolling your bags from the station on cobbled pavements all the way to the hotel, if you wanted to avoid a cab.... Which turns out to be ridiculously expensive for such a short ride.

Great location within a 5-7 minute walk of the Norled boat terminal to take the early boat to Flam. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast had wonderful variety of food and Ruth was very helpful in making me a take-away breakfast for the early boat. It was a safe, convenient neighbourhood and I walked everywhere.

There should be a telephone in the room for safety reasons , especially given that it is an accessible room. Also, I like to have a wake-up call. I had to get dressed in the middle of the night and walk down to the reception to tell them about an issue because there was no telephone.

The location was perfect, right near the centre of town. We had views to the mountains, and front row seats for the fireworks on May 17. Breakfast was great, lots of choices, including a nearly-full English, if that's what you're looking for. Staff were so friendly and helpful! They made us a breakfast pack when we checked out early.

It was disappointing that there were no tea-making facilities in the room - a kettle and a bar fridge would have been nice.

We had a lovely relaxing stay. It was a quiet location, and the hotel had a chilled out atmosphere. Rooms were simple but comfortable. The staff on the front desk were always happy to help with anything. A good choice of food at the buffet breakfast.

If I was being really fussy, I would have loved a kettle in the room. Being a typical British person I really missed my tea! Had to make sure I drank plenty at breakfast time. Also, it would have been nice to have had a shelf in the shower, but these really are minor things.

Location was central and easy to find. We only stayed one night before we headed across to Odda - It was a lovely quiet location (although we did visit on easter weekend and a lot of places nearby were shut!) Was very impressed by the breakfast which was a buffet style and had a tonne of choice (cereal, fresh pastries, fruit, bacon, eggs, beans, fresh coffee, tea and juices) - would return on this basis alone!

Nothing! Would happily return here again (and plan to in the future!)

The Comfort Hotel was modest but comfortable, in a very convenient location. The breakfast offerings were extensive and excellent. Although the rooms were relatively small, there were ample lounge areas to relax and/or work.

Although clean and comfortable, the room furnishings and amenities were somewhat spartan. For example, I couldn't find any facial tissues.
