Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Bergen

Central location with walking distance to everything we wanted to see/do/eat. We stayed in a junior suite and it was very spacious. Views were alright, but I don't think we paid for the upgraded view. Housekeeping was great and the rooms and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a nice variety. The best part of this room was the heated floors in the bathroom!! Nice touch - It was so helpful when attempting to get ready in the morning. Helped me get out of bed easier instead of wanting to snooze under the covers. Also, the airport shuttle (flybussen) picks up and drops off right outside the hotel about every half hour. Very convenient and more affordable than a taxi.

The hotel was fine once we found it (there are two Radisson hotels at the Oslo airport). Staff was helpful in merging my points accounts which had been set up under two different emails. The onsite restaurant was good for dinner with friendly, if overworked staff. (note when leaving the restaurant watch your step, there's a step down on the edge of the restaurant). Close to terminal for early morning flight out the next day.

I reserved online and didn't realize there are TWO Radisson at the Oslo airport. They're different "colors" but not being a Radisson regular that meant nothing to me and I didn't realize the blu was a bit of a walk from the terminal. They allowed us to take carts for luggage to and from the hotel, so that was fine, but it was an uphill walk to the hotel (gentle slope), after erroneously going to the red which was directly across from the terminal, a much more convenient location. (but perhaps pricier, I don't remember there being two presented to me when I was reserving).

The location is great, right in the middle of Bryggen, most of the staff is professional and friendly. The room was big, and clean. The sauna/hammam was clean. Breakfast had a wide choice.

When we checked in we have not been informed about a party taking place the same night, until 3am, we overheard it from other guests who being given the information. We would have liked to be informed beforehand so we had the option to maybe book somewhere else if we wanted to, as we came for a relaxing holiday.

Excellent location- only a few minutes walk from the cruise terminal and right in the heart of old Bergen overlooking the waterfront. Friendly staff.

No water in room and ice machine in corridor didn’t work. TV kept turning itself on while we were trying to sleep- reception told us to pull out the cable at the back which finally did the trick!

Great location, comfortable room and a plentiful breakfast

Designated breakfast times and missing out on preferred time. Charged for breakfast when it was supposed to be included in our accommodation deal. Still waiting for reimbursement……would have appreciated an apology.

Ease of booking, check-in, breakfast arrangements, Breakfast was AWESOME. Servers cheerful and helpful. Rooms were clean as were common areas. Location to everything we wanted to see and do was within walking distance.

Server at restaurant on outdoor patio was possibly new and made an error on my order. We waited and waited and waited. My friend began to eat some leftovers from a dinner the night before as we were hungry and we were reprimanded by the server that we were not allowed to eat food brought in. She then went back inside still not bringing us our order. Another server noticed we were still waiting for our food and inquired. She apologized, put the order in and an hour later we received it. There was no compensation as would have been done in the US.

Housekeeping was a disaster They would just open the room and come in without checking is anyone in there and is it OK to enter Despite informing them and even writing in to hotel staff multiple times they would do the same every morning Room was shabbily made up and never replaced the toiletries or coffee etc such that it would suit a bigger family staying in the room This was the only let down else it was very good on all regards Bit concerned about the disdain for privacy

The breakfast was amazing. Great location. Very easy to get to from the airport on the Flybussen.

The decor.

the location was excellent, the breakfast buffet was very good! The front desk, bartender at 26 North and housekeeping employees were all very very helpful and seemed to genuinely like working at the hotel. The Tram from the airport was very good value -a few Euros. and then a 12 minute walk to the hotel. Thank you very much for dining us a fan for our room as the weather was very warm.

Surprisingly, different things were not functioning. The power for the hair dryer (I tried 2 different ones) cut out after 5-10 seconds and had to wait 60 seconds for it to “cool down” I guess before you could try again. inconvenient. The ice machine broke down in dining room at breakfast, the phone in the room did not work, and there were 2 panels in the room that came down when we were there - one behind the desk that held telecommunications and one in the bathroom that exposed plumbing. Not huge issues but strange for the quality of hotel. it could be challenges with staffing issues???
