Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg

This was the best decision for Bergen (and surrounding area) without a doubt. The hotel is just lovely, very modern, specious. The breakfast was exceptional and the staff just beyond friendly and helpful. We arrived by car and left it at their parking (7.5 eur per day) and used the tram to visit Bergen - best decision ever. It takes only 30 minutes (Sandslivegen tram stop, you can buy the 24hour ticket for 9eur at the stop so it is the best price performance if you ask me), you can stop at the Fantoft and take a short walk to the Fantoft Stave Church and then take the same tram to the City centre. I mean - Bergen is very manageable by foot so going into the centre with a car would be crazy (e.g. we paid 16 euros for 2 hour parking when we hiked to the top of the Urliken). The hotel offers a lot of space for reading, they have board games, etc. Good coffee available 24h/day. Just great. I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

The bed was too soft and after three days my back started to hurt. But this is just a personal preference. I believe more people prefer soft beds to hard. It wasn't a deal breaker.

I travel a lot through Europe and spend the night in the most diverse locations. For this trip I ended up in Bergen. A beautiful town in Fjord rich Norway. My schedule ran out in such a way that I ended up in Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg, which is also close to the airport, about half an hour from the center. The namesake is a very famous person in Bergen, look it up. On arrival I was surprised by the size of the Hotel and the striking lighting made me think I was on Broadway New York or on The Strip in Vegas. But this was picturesque Bergen and I didn't expect that. The welcome at the reception, the service and the spacious modern room were "simply" excellent! Unfortunately I had to leave early again so I had to skip breakfast this time. However, the lady at the reception had noticed this and had a packed lunch prepared for me. I was quickly handed this over by the night employee on duty just before I got into the taxi. Well done and much appreciated, Top Notch! Thank you. Ronald van der Meijden

I had no complaints or comments during my stay in Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg. If you come for the center of Bergen, keep in mind that it will take you about 30 minutes by taxi to get there. By the way, talk to the taxi drivers, they have interesting stories to tell.

It’s a stylish hotel with modern and clean decor. Very spacious room and a big, clean and modern bathroom. Breakfast buffet was excellent and staff friendly. The Gym was OK.

The room was big but a little shabby in parts (floor wear, window which was stuck open, chipped table) You have to pay for parking which is a bit of a rip-off considering this hotel is outside of Bergen town centre in the middle of a quiet residential area so driving there is necessary. Gym not staffed and when I used it there were several young kids playing around in there.

I use this hotel 3-4 times a year. I travel by car, and it offers good parking facilities. It’s a reasonable value for money hotel. Situated 10 miles / 16 kms from the city centre and far enough from the airport not to be bothered with any noise. Very good breakfast and restaurant, albeit the service can be a tad slow. All in all, a fine hotel, but not easy to access by public transport, about 10-15 mins walk to «Bybanen» the light tail service.

They’ve started charging for parking which used to be free.

soap dispenser for washing the hands is installed quite far away from the wash basin, while in the space between you normally store your washing bag (nescessaire) with all your needed stuff. That means: moving the hands from the washing table to the soap dispenser and back always crossing your washing bag and sanitary items - not good and not ergonomic. shower splash guard was only one door (not two as on the advert pictures) means: at showering, the water also sprays outside the shower into the bathroom / in front of toilet floor.

Situated a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport. Use Bergen Taxis as they have a special rate for this hotel. The Edvard Grieg has å spacious reception and staff are friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. They don't offer anything at lunch time which was disappointing as I had a late check out. They could offer bar snacks for example. Overall a good hotel with friendly staff. I can recommend it.

The hotel was incredible! It was clean, comfortable and the staff were really helpful and knowledgeable about Bergen. The buffet breakfast had endless options and we had great views of the snowy mountains from our room! The light rail was relatively close and easy to get to the city and airport!

attractive atrium public area, comfortable rooms, good breakfast typical of better hotels, free parking on site with plenty of EV chargers. The property caters to families with young children, very impressive, so the lobby is very lively.

location is in suburban neighborhood between airport and town. a little tricky to get to with ongoing road construction.

It was great! The breakfast etc was really well-planned and I understand why they have it all included - it is just easier

I do think there could have been a better explanation of what to expect at breakfast, even a sign which just says 'help yourself and find your own seat would be nice! I wandered around a little confused at first.

The building and the interior of the hotel were lovely. Loved our room. They kept their standard almost throughout the entire hotel. We could tell by seeing the hallway that a small portion were still not renovated.

We sometimes had to wait a while for the receptionist by the desk. But we are happy about the staff overall.
