Location, property, staff in dining room & the young man at reception.

The fact that we couldn’t access the room by 2.30 given the fact that we were sat 2 if a wedding and heading to Fenit @ 2pm by coach and explained that we wouldn’t be back at the hotel til at least 2am in the morning. When we did get back to the hotel @1.30, our cases were still in the car and there was nobody at reception to give us our key. We were exhausted. We were not happy to leave our cases at reception while we were in Fenit as I had quite a bit of jewellery in mine and there wasn’t anyone ‘manning’ reception (which was obvious at 1.30 am when we arrived back from Fenit) the young gentleman was lovely, not so though his female comrade I wasn’t impressed with the FAKE buxus plant in the ‘not so clean’ balcony. The money we were paying warranted a real plant.

Great hotel with an engaging pre-arrival experience. Very thorough, great follow up and responsive so an amazing first impression which was followed through with Reception (Maxzym) who was efficient and friendly both on check in and check out!

We had not booked dinner at the restuarant as we were told we could do a walk up at the bar and could have a drink if there was a wait which is what we decided as we didnt know our arrival time. Our experience at the bar on arrival was very poor .. it took 2 of us to try and interact with 4 different people before we could even get a drink. The whole experience was rescued by Kirby-Ann who was definitely doing the work of 3 people but when we spoke with her she seated us at the bar, got us drinks and then ensured we were found a table within the 30 minutes which she had flagged to us as the likely waiting time. The food and table service were great. Without her this review would have been VERY different!

Comfortable bed, spacious room and clean. Very friendly and attentive staff from reception to dining and breakfast. We have been to a lot of hotels, the Rose Hotel is the best and excellent breakfast offer with the cold buffet available and hot breakfast made to order from their menu. And they have fresh honey from honeycombs..amazing..rest assured, no bees there 😂. A lot of fresh fruit selections, cheeses, fresh slices of salmon with fresh salad leaves and they have selections of muffins and gluten free sections too. They toast the bread for you and coffee/ tea served.

We had breakfast In the resturant and the buffet was fabulous and you had so many choices on the menu as well.The staff were fantastic. Very bubbly and great service. Staff and management were absolutely fantastic.We did not drive so we had to get a taxi to the bus station and train station and the reception staff ordered it for the time we wanted.They were polite and there personalitys were amazing. We had dinner in Dotts Bar which is in the hotel.Food was fabulous and the staff again were amazing. Mark was the manager and he was brilliant.He came over to us to ask us was everything alright and had a great chat and laugh with him.The staff were amazing very chatty and went above and beyond for us.Could not ask for better service.The town is a 10min walk through the The Rose park across the road from the hotel.The beautiful gardens full of roses.Would highly recommend staying at The Rose Hotel.Its absolutely beautiful.Will definitely stay there again.Alma and Roger.

Loved the common areas and the restaurant breakfast ! The gym is top notch. The rooms where we stayed were not the renovated area so toilet smelled and the fabrics were out-dated. Overall the good out weighed the bad- but upgrade to new rooms and it’s perfection

Our outdated rooms ugly colors of fabric( red lampshade!) and toilet had a pee smell that wouldn’t go away. But. They brought us bleach to squirt at each use to help as they were fully booked.

bar staff could be a little more attentive to customers entering the bar are especially when it was so quiet and there being about 5 staff members

Comfortable, Clean and good value.

One small issue with access to the bar for a drink after arrival. Chap at entrance asked if we had a reservation. We just wanted a quick drink before meeting friends in Tralee. However we were asked to stay in the lobby and a waiter will take your order. Made us feel very unwelcome. After 10 minutes and no sign of a waiter the "chap" at the entrance took us thru to a back room of the bar where we served a drink.

Nice sized room with a comfortable bed. Bar food was DELICIOUS. Speedy service and lovely staff.

Air-con barely worked - a heatwave in Ireland is rare, but our room was absolutely boiling. Likely down to the aspect of the windows with the sun shining in.

Excellent food, service, staff were helpful, efficient and attentive. We could not fault anything in The Rose Hotel. Value for money and we will certainly return. Loved the ambience in bar and the manageress and her helpers took excellent care of me, my husband and my sister who came over to dine with us later in the evening.

Everything was perfect.

Hotel very well presented. Lovely room. Great spa experience. Staff generally very pleasant with one notable exception. Very good beakfast that covered the stuff you'd expect and then went further. Bar food good.

Narrow bath with wall mounted handrail at hip height impinging on space when standing under shower - potentially dangerous. One rude member of staff in bar (manager) who told my wife "beggers can't be choosers". Afternoon tea included stale bread on one sandwich.
