Absolutely stunning property Fantastic location Stunning grounds around the hotel suitable for walks Brilliant restaurants/pubs nearby in maynooth can recommend O’Neills bar for craic and food Can’t wait to go back All the staff were friendly, helpful and professional but we felt the receptionist Martyna was exceptionally helpful

Kathleen’s kitchen situated in the hotel We arrived and ordered 2 bowls of chicken soup. The potato was cut up very small into the bowl and was slightly uncooked, the chicken was also in the bowl. The soup fluid arrived in a Chinese style tea port and was poured over the chicken and potato and it was tepid. Had breakfast there on Sunday morning it was buffet style but the sausages were very pale and appeared uncooked, potato bread and mushrooms were cold. These two experiences put us off eating there.

Food was fantastic, Atmosphere in the bars and restaurants was excellent. Staff were super friendly. Highly Recommended. A+

Applied for a Room upgrade package. Which we were told we received. Our "upgraded" Room was small, Bathroom was smaller again and the Shower was Tiny. We had a balcony which the door couldn't open properly as the balconies timber flooring was raised slightly and the door couldn't open fully. Our balcony room view was facing a Ditch, TV in the room was some IPTV service and the reception on the TV was very broken and a lot of buffering was going on while trying to watch the TV. I Prearranged for Flowers and Wine for the room as it was our anniversary. Flowers were brought up to the room. But no wine and on check out they did try to charge us for the wine. Thought considering its a 5Star Hotel and we were paying 5Star prices we wouldnt have these room issues.

Love the the interiors and how beautiful everything was. We had an amazing meal in Kathleen's Kitchen followed by an amazing Breakfast the next day. We also had afternoon tea which was gorgeous. I ordered a red velvet cake for my sister and to say it was the best red velvet cake I've ever tasted is an understatement. We also booked spa treatments which were so relaxing and luxurious. The hotel was incredibly calm and relaxed. No members of staff rushing around, nobody under pressure. Can't wait to come back.

I did think that tye cost of the room per night was very expensive. Considering we spent very little time in the rooms and were spending a lot of money in the hotel anyway.

Stayed in Carton house on Saturday night to propose to my partner from start to finish the grounds hotel Service and food was 10/10. We ate in the Morrison room which is an experience in itself the ambiance was incredible the service was top class and the food was flawless. For anyone thinking on staying or dining in the morrison room book it in, you will not regret it. Thank you so much to all of the staff for making our experience memorable, We will definitely be looking at Carton house as a venue for our wedding day. Cannot recommend this venue enough. The overall ambience - very calm and relaxing. The decor was fantastic. The room was great with doors opening onto the garden. Staff could not do enough for you from when we arrived until we left. The tour of the house was great and delivered very efficiently by Brian. The hotel location with so much to do on site or in the immediate vicinity (e.g. the Royal Canal Cycleway) was fantastic. Overall could not have any complaint

Cant say I disliked anything. Small point is perhaps menus in the restaurants could be more extensive. Felt the choices were limited though what was served was excellent. Breakfast rooms were just superb. Service very good but could maybe be a little more coordinated - for example toast delivered too long before tea/coffee. Again small thing but small things if changed can improve the experience

The staff were wonderful.

The stay with breakfast included was fantastic value for money. But the prices at the property are steep. The dinner in the kitchen restaurant was very nice, but the price is far more expensive than the set menu and about E100 per head more expensive than comparative meals in Dublin. The cocktails were very expensive and they were not very nice. Also, E24 for a BLT stood out as another example of an overpriced item. Also, the spa having no availability was very disappointing.

Hotel is gorgeous. Grounds are lovely. Felt luxurious but final touches just missing. Overall good experience and understand with covid... Staff situation can be in flux.

Balcony small. Staff slow to attend. A little sterile. Very few welcoming personalities.....apart from restaurant hostess. She was lovely.

Beautiful hotel, amazing gardens and grounds.

Waiter at Kathleen kitchen told us chips was not possible when we were ordering- which wasn’t a problem however when the next tables meal got brought out suprise suprise they had bowls of chips being served. Just a bit rude, obviously 5 star service for some guests but not all !!

the setting, the reception, the lighting at night, the grounds, the history, the beautiful architecture.

the rooms in the new wing are very dark. the bathrooms are not very functional especially the sink. the balconies are very unattractive with the cheap galvanised steel. it looks very out of place and they offer no privacy between rooms. promised as a Easter getaway with activities for children but no programme of events and nothing special was happening. quite a clinical feel to the staff interaction except for Rob. didn’t feel there was much offered to us at check-in.

It just feels like home for us. We’ve been many times!

We definitely don’t like the new breakfast area and menu and being served everything. Too fancy. Unfortunately because of this we won’t be back as it’s a big part of what we enjoyed about our stay. We loved relaxing over breakfast with a newspaper etc but now it’s more formal and not relaxing at all. Very disappointed as it was our favourite place!
