Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa

The staff in the bar and spa were just wonderful, super friendly and chatty and never made you feel as though you were interrupting them. The location near Dublin is great and the rooms are very spacious which is just lovely.

Having to pay to make use of the thermal suite in the spa while being a hotel resident was a surprise. At €10 a head it wasn't breaking the bank but this is the only hotel I've stayed in where use of the spa facilities wasn't included when you are a hotel guest. It's a lovely spa and I would have liked to visit for a little while the morning we were checking out but would have had to pay another €10. It feels kind of money grabbing truthfully.

Breakfast was well laid and provided for. Spa was lovely but a shame hotel does not have a proper full sized swimming pool.

In main reception central carpet was very grubby and spoilt the look of the main reception. Room was very nice but furniture a bit damaged so could do with a bit of TLC. Mix up with bar bill which was a little frustrating. Felt the spa should not charge for people staying at the hotel. This extra cost is a little cheeky if you are residing there.

Spa was great & Terrace lounge is lovely and airy.

We stayed in Dunboyne Castle for 4 days. Only food options are Ivy Restaurant which is very expensive & Terrace Lounge for sandwiches, soup & salads. Too bad the Sadlier Bar wasn't open as it is lovely there.

Room was hot and duvet too hot. A sheet or blanket would have been better.

The spa was great, rooms were clean. Staff were very pleasant.

The Ivy restaurant was very disappointing, the service was not prompt and certainly not AA rosette standard. We weren't shown to our table, just told over there on that round table. Our food order was asked for before our drinks order. Our steak knifes were just dropped in the middle of the table, our cutlery wasn't changed after our food order taken. No finger bowls for the Mussels, we had to ask for them.

Beautiful room, with a large window to a lush green garden view. Great service, quality restaurant, free parking. Spacious room, excellent beds, superfast wifi. Handy location only 25 minuted from airport, still you feel like you're in the countryside.

Our package included breakfast but as we had to leave early for the airport we requested a packed breakfast. In contrast to how wonderful the hotel is, the breakfast was a let down; we were two people but the bag only included one stale packed muffin (service station style), one apple, one yogurt and a bottle of water :(

The staff were very nice and always pleasant just could have informed about kitchen closing before 10! hotel is spotless and room was very nice would deffo recommend Breakfast was gorgeous was really impressed with the selection and food was really nice! Spa made the hotel was unbelievable, one of the best spas I have been to hospitality wise and the out door jacuzzi was a bonus that really made the day couldn’t get out of it haha but yeah really nice spa highly impressed 👍🏻

Staff member spilled a full drink on me and had to clean it up myself !?? Was not informed that the kitchen will be closed at 9:30pm as I arrived at 9:20 as we were told at reception to arrive any time before 10pm. Had to order taxi into blanch to get food. Apart from that was a lovely stay and nice and quite defo come back again 🫶🏻

property was absolutely gorgeous, modern and clean. we booked a dinner for 14 people in the Ivy restaurant. the service was brilliant and so accommodating for children.

the only thing that I was very upset about was the pool. Its adults only. I was on the phone numerous times as I was organising a dinner for 14 people, getting a cot in the bedroom etc and also asked to about booking the pool and this was never mentioned to me. I probably wouldn’t have stayed in this hotel if I knew the pool was adults only. I do feel the hotel should be accommodating for even 1 hour in the morning from 8-9am for children as it is a huge attractive.

Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of choice. Our room and bathroom were huge, we liked that we had a separate bath and walk in shower. The spa looked very inviting but we were in Dunboyne for a family get together so didn’t have time to enjoy the spa….next time!!

Hostly, I can’t think of anything that would have made our stay more comfortable, the hotel and staff offered everything that we wished for.

I liked that my group of 5 ladies enjoyed their spa treatments. The food and staff was lovely

I didn't like having my spa treatment reduced to 25 minutes and I with my family of 5 ladies. I would have liked a hair dryer in my room.
