The rest of the beach was dark except for right around this hotel area and they had it lit up like Time square. It was so bright you couldn't hardly see to walk back to the hotel from the beach because of the blinding light. The beach and the area would be much more pleasant without the stadium lighting. Also the ice machine sounded like a jet plane getting ready to take off it was very loud and disturbing In my room

In general, all staff was friendly, respectful and super willing to help. I would recommend to have small coffee makers in rooms. All food was super tasty, Great cooking. My wife and I worked in tourism bussiness for over 10 years in Costa Rica and know how to detect diferent levels of service and quality in hotels.

The parking area is the weak spot, I found a car with an open window in the parking outside the property and there was no security guard in place watching over the vehicles. I ended up reporting the issue at the front desk. Need to improve the internet connection in rooms. My room phone never worked. It was reported, but, TV and phone worked from fiber optic, so to make the TV Work they had to disconnect the phone. Bar is kind of pricy.

My daughter and I spent a pleasant 5 nights here. We probably wouldn’t have booked at this location and hotel if we’d had more time before our trip, but at very short notice it was the only hotel available in the area with two beds per room. But it worked out very well and was excellent value for money. Friendly and efficient staff, nice comfy clean room. Right by Hermosa Beach. The shower in the room was fantastic - better than we’ve got at home. Great (free) breakfasts too. The pool was excellent and with the beach just across the road we had good views of sunsets from our balcony. The ocean at the beach is no good for weak swimmers or children due to strong undertow, but lovely smooth sand to walk on and and fine to wade in to the water if you don’t go in any further than standing depth. Several good restaurants 20 minutes walk away.

Lighting in the room was poor. Too dim to read a book at night without using cell phone or flashlight for illumination. Only two small recessed lamps in the ceiling and no table lamps. But this is just a small niggle in an otherwise very good package.

The breakfast was great, as was all the food we ordered from the restaurant. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Could keep the room as cool as you liked. Mini fridge was great!

Pictures can be deceiving. Lots of deferred maintenance. Would have been nice to have pool towels, not the old stained ones from the rooms. Lounge chairs not comfortable, could use cushions or different type.

This hotel is located across the street from the beach. In less than a minute, you are on the beach enjoying the spectacular waves and awesome sunsets. The rooms are very large and well maintained. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping everything clean. The WiFi was very easy to connect to and had decent connection speed.

The American breakfast was not the greatest. The "orange juice" tasted like Tang or a dry mix with water. The eggs had a strange taste and the toast needed to be toasted longer.

Beautiful beach right in front! I saw some bad reviews and was worried about my booking! But I'm not sure what people are talking about, the staff has been so helpful and so kind. The room was always cleaned pretty nicely and location is good, you can just take an Uber to town. The highlight was the staff's friendliness and assistance, they were great. Also, the room had all that I needed.

The only thing that I didn't really like was that it was so loud on the weekends, it was hard to sleep. It also gets a little loud in the morning super early when staff starts to clean.

Love the location and the breakfast was exceptional for local cuisine. Perfect for surfing at the top surf beach in CR!

Rooms could have a suitcase rack. Very minimal accommodations and the beds could be queen instead of just doubles. Beds were old and could use updating as a couple will roll into the middle.

The staff was amazing! From the moment I checked in through many, many trips to the bar, the staff were wonderful and accommodating. The hotel is by itself a few KM for any dining and drink options but the restaurant and bar serves excellent drinks and delicious tica food. Beers were in the $2-2.50 range and cocktails $3.50. The dinners were reasonable at $6-9 and were lovely. There also happens to be one of the best beachbreaks in the world directly across the street.

The dog thing was really adorable until there was a yappy little poodle who barked incessantly at the pool, in the restaurant and in the room, much to the displeasure of the rest of the guests… including the rest of the dogs who looked at that jerk poodle like he was making the rest of ‘em look bad.

Great location right on the beach! Excellent food in the restaurant at dinner and the included breakfast too! Highly recommend the fried snapper and the dessert with ice cream, fruit and jello. It sounds strange, but refreshing and delicious! The server was the best one I’ve had during my 2 week trip around Costa Rica-and all meals were eaten out. Very nice pool area too. Plenty of ice machines. At least 2 on the first floor I was on. If you want to see Scarlet Macaws, this is the place. I watched/recorded 2 pairs of them for over an hour. Make sure you’re up by 6am and walk along the road in front of the hotel (to the right as you walk out). Quietly walking along, you’ll hear them moving in trees on the beach side, cracking open food, leaves falling, etc. Once you hear them cawing, you’ll easily know when they’re around. Such a beautiful way to start your day. I paid about 1/2 the price of what I had paid at all the other places I stayed at and this was by far my favorite. This place was a great value for the price!

My pool sliding door was a little hard to open, but wouldn’t even think of complaining. Considering I hadn’t even requested this type of room and that’s what I got, I was just fine with it.

I loved the pool. loungers we’re uncomfortable and so I didn’t spend as much time by the pool as I would have liked. I also looked at shade…perhaps some umbrellas would be nice.
