Hotel Los Ranchos

This was the best place we've stayed at in Costa Rica. The manager, Erik, was so nice & very helpful. The room was huge! And the best part is they include breakfast which is delivered to your room. We also had a kitchen with a refrigerator in our room. The pool is amazing, plus very close to beach.

Comfortable bed, decent WIFI. Breakfast was very good. Cozy little setting one minute off the main drag where there was lots of action . Close to the beach. Could have been a little scary given the proximity to the main drag but security seemed strong and the parking lot gate was locked at night.

The room smelled really bad when we arrived, like sewerage. We figured out the room hadn't been used in a while, the shower drain had dried up and sewer gas was flooding the room. We ran the shower and aired out the room. Problem solved but someone should have checked before we arrived as we almost bailed as soon as we got there.

Wonderful staff that made you feel like family and were so accommodating! Breakfast was excellent with fruit, pancakes and traditional Costa Rican fare. 24 hour coffee and tea available. There appear to be 16 two story units broken up into 4 buildings (4 units each) with a very clean pool in the middle. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with native plants. In fact, there were gardeners there every morning raking up loose leaves. The unit we had was spacious and well equipped. Located half a block from the beach and the main downtown street, so no need for a car (but there is adequate free parking onsite). The property is gated, so we felt very secure and safe. The only downside was some construction going on next door that started a bit early. But this is just a temporary situation and looks to be ending in the near future. While a little noisy, I certainly wouldn't let it deter you from staying here. We feel the staff is what really made this place feel special though!

Perfect hosts and hostesses, all staff was super polite and helpful, and everything was very clean, and the food was wonderful! Complimentary Coffee and tea all day. Hot shower water is no problem. Very close to the beach, walkable town of Jaco, everything is close by. Nice tropical setting, perfect size pool, and some wildlife to see.

The shower was quite inadequate to get clean under, very old shower head. There was a lot of construction noise next door where a building was going up.

Is a place only for sleep but restaurants are close, beach, bars ☺️

Location, location, location. Around the corner to the beach and many restaurants along it, with great views of the sunsets. Delicious breakfast with fresh fruit was brought to my balcony. Coffee available at all times. Also a short walk to the Main Street with variety of restaurants and shops. It was very hot during our stay, so we were in the pool multiple times in our 1 night stay. Pool, beach, pool, beach, pool, etc. The beach there has undertow, so it’s a wading beach and not a swimming beach, but we had fun standing about waist deep and getting soaked by the waves rolling in.

Erik was incredible. He is the Manager. He took care of EVERYTHING!. He was always attentive to our needs and his staff worked very hard. The cleaning ladies were fast and polite. We had security all night avaiable. Place was very comfortable. Beach was 1 minute walking distance! Kids LOVED the pool! Breakfast was fantastic. 24hr cafe! I highly recommend this hidden gem in Jaco!!

The facilities are very well maintained. There's a cozy garden with a swimming pool and you can constantly get free coffee. The rooms are very spacious and all have a place to sit outside. The staff is extremely friendly and talkative.

Breakfast could have been a bit more. When we arrived in our room the AC did not work while the rooms under the roof can heat up pretty quickly. We mentioned this and were lucky to get another room. However, we had to take care of our luggage ourselves - some help would have been nice.

A hidden oasis! Simple and quaint. Only 16 units close to the beach.

It is a good hotel located downtown, but away from the noisy main road. Lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Beach is about 75 mts. My only complaint was that one bed in the room was new and comfortable, but the other bed was clearly worn and not comfortable. Good hot water, cool AC, a mini fridge, a small patio, and a small clean pool, secure parking. They serve coffee all day! Also, they have a good breakfast, Gallo Pinto, delivered to your room.
