We stopped here en route from Charlottetown to Saint Andrews. Close enough to Parlee Beach and the Hopewell Rocks, so a good spot to break in a road trip. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, clean and good sized rooms. Didn't seem like a ton to do in the surrounding areas, but that might have been just on us.

Another guest had their vehicle broken into in the parking lot while we were there, by the sound of it, petty theft might be common in the area. Be sure to lock up/hide valuables. That being said, we felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Rooms are a bit dark

While walking in to check-in we were surprised that the double front doors opened automatically, so we didn’t have to fumble to open the doors. Our room was very roomy and clean. After traveling through the Maritimes for the past month this was definitely the nicest hotel we’ve seen. Everything about it was first class. It made us feel like we should have paid much more than we did. It was a real treat staying there. We both said we would have loved to stay longer but had reservations at our next stop. We even got a call from the front desk asking if everything was to our satisfactory. There were plenty of restaurants in the area to chose from. Were surprised to have a continental breakfast waiting for us in the morning. Go ahead and treat yourself with a stay at the Château Moncton.

There wasn’t anything I can complain about. It was great. I really tried but came up empty.

Room was very clean, airy and warming. Comfort exceptional. The bed is very comfy. Love the bathroom and the living room is super cool with the little bar.

Service desk person was not very welcoming, arrived around 3h30, a lot of person needed to be served so maybe she was stressed but still. She did not inform us of the 50$ deposit, did not inform us of the breakfast the next morning, almost throw the card room at us. Did not informed us about the receipt. This person would need to get a customer service course. During the night between 2h30 and 5h00 am, a lot of noise over our head on the fourth floor we were on the third floor. I guess there was hockey team or something, they were very loud almost fell like the ceiling was going to drop on us. So for the noise the experience was pretty bad. But for the comfort it was awesome.

The location, room and general facilities were excellent. All very clean and well maintained...it appeared to be a newer build. Excellent king bed accommodation; size, cleanliness, comfort, bathroom. Friendly, helpful staff. Location was excellent! Literally on the water-riverfront with a connected, extensive public access boardwalk-trail walk. Perfect location to view the tidal bore! Included hot-cold breakfast and all-day coffee. Easy walk to downtown food&beverage and shopping areas. Proximal parking and access to airport.

They did not have an in-house restaurant. Bar area was available yet not actively staffed...front desk staff happily supported any drink requests:)) It seems to be a growing trend in the hotel industry. Given the location of this hotel it was not a significant issue but we do enjoy having that as an option when we travel.

Very clean and large room, large bathroom, great breakfast, water and coffee available in lounge, and modern decor. We attended a concert while we were there and it was within walking distance (15 min walk) and walking distance to many stores and restaurants. Hotel seemed quiet even though there were lots of people staying. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Would have liked the option of dairy free or lactose free items for breakfast (yogurt, coffee creamers, milk for cereal) but not a huge deal.

The Scotsman Inn and hosts Sandy and Kathy together met all of our expectations for a one night stay in Pictou. The hospitality, overall service, and delightful inn keepers made our stay a joy. The inn itself is an historic building in the heart of Pictou that has been modernized and wonderfully cared for by Kathy and Sandy. Our room was spotless and comfortable. The dining rooms are full of art curated by the hosts and are a center of conversation during the morning breakfast get together. Wine on the back deck along with other guests was very enjoyable and relaxing. Sandy even brought out a few guitars for he and the guests to play. Our stay was terrific and we will return during our next trip to Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island.

It was all good.

Room was modern, tastefully decorated and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located outside of the city centre but across the street from a shopping centre featuring Zehrs and several other stores like Dollarama and Giant Tiger. Great when need a snack or some personal item. Very quiet at night. Breakfast was easy to order and tasty. Would stay again.

Breakfast line was frequently long even though the required pre-ordering was done by many people. There were still several guests who did not comply with the hotel's request to pre-order and held up the line. Not a big deal if you're not in a hurry, but when you are, and you've followed the procedure to pre-order for a specific pick up time, it can be irritating. If someone has not pre-ordered, and there is a line up, perhaps that person could be asked to complete the form and get back in line?

Breakfast was good, served by pleasant staff who were working understaffed. Room was very clean and beds and sheets were comfortable. Don't miss watching the Tidal Bore come through everyday! We saw surfers when we were there.

Room was done in gray and black, could have used some color. No big deal, didn't affect our stay. The corridors were quite dark, no overhead lights, just lights on the walls. Maybe this was done to give it a "chateau" feel? We had no tv service our first day there. Front desk said it was a "regional issue".

Unfortunately I missed the breakfast. I thought it closed at 11 o’clock but closed fairly early I thought at 10:00. I loved my spacious room and loved the shower with its jets. The room was very clean and beautiful. A bit disappointed with the mattress, felt it sagged a bit, it was just ok.

The mattress and breakfast closing so early as there are no restaurants in building. Travellers need time in the morning.

The room was spacious, with all modern conveniences. My room was on an upper floor with a beautiful view of the Petitcodiac River. I was actually able to watch the Tidal Bore twice from the room (both were late at night). Great shower, very comfortable bed, lovely windows (one of which opens). Nice work area with easy to access electrical outlets. Very nice TV which was easy to operate with one control. The staff at reception and in the breakfast area were very friendly and accommodating. I loved the riverside walking/cycling trail (paved/boardwalk), which is steps from the hotel. I also walked to restaurants (i.e. The Keg), a 15-minute walk along the riverside trail.

One small suggestion: if a guest will not be able to partake of the included breakfast because of an early flight or departure (i.e. before 6:30 a.m.), offer an apple and granola bar, etc.
