Sage Motel is a good mom n pop motel. The furnishings are just fine - everything you need. And clean. I appreciated the new, tight windows that one can open; and the frig/microwave. The brick walls kept everything quiet. Staff was accommodating and helpful. You can go and swim at the Newcastle Convention Center's nice indoor pool just around the corner for $5. Call them for their pool hours.

Almost missed the place... their sign is hard to see. Lobby was a little weird; not sure I found the ice supply intended for guests.

LOVED the cute 'touches' like the way the toilet paper was folded (BUMMED I DID NOT TAKE A PICTURE!), the seating area outside each room, all the flowers and decorations. The room was VERY clean and felt safe. Really loved the code entry - we got in late and could go straight to the room thanks to the text that was sent. I have told so many friends and even some strangers about how great our stay was! I expected it to be and older place, due to the area, but it is so well 'loved' by the owners. Definitely will stay again!

The only downside at all was the sign was not lit up. So we accidentally went to the place next door (Hillside). It was late and another couple pulled in with dead cell phones. They were asking to use our phone to call when a woman came out. She said she was the owner. I told her the other couple needed help and we went to what I though was our door. There was no code entry so I asked her if it was the Sage. Her response was, pointing to the sign, 'Can't you read?' and started yelling at us - SO RUDE! Then she stood in front of my car and would not let me pull out! I am so sorry you have to be next to someone like that but it truly does make The Sage shine even brighter!

What did we like? All of it! The new king size bed was so comfortable that we slept more fitfully than we do in our own. The towels were softer and bigger than the cheap motel towels that are ussually expected. Even the toilet paper was wonderfully thick and soft. And not to be forgotten, sitting out on the patio furniture and watching the deer walk by in the evenings was so glorious!

Literally, there was nothing we didn't like! The room, the patio, the owners blew our expectations out of the water! We rented the room with out checking reviews, expecting a low-class experience. What we experienced was amazing!

Was traveling from Pennsylvania to Colorado and was staying off the Interstates and Newcastle was of my planned stops. This little motel was a hidden gem. The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The owners Chloe and Wes were great. When I arrived around 6:30 they were working on the motels new lobby. We talked a little awhile. Went to the room which was cleaner than a number of larger hotels I have stayed at. After getting settled in I went back asked Wes and Chloe if they would like to join me for dinner. We talked about the area and had a great time.

Very nice building layout. The whole front was layed out like a front covered porch with chairs and tables. Even had a fire place and playing table with a jumbo size Jenna game! Extremely friendly staff too. The room was clean , 2 full sized beds were very comfortable, warm and clean. Bathroom was large, and has a deep bathtub for soaking in as well. We will be definitely be use this place on our future trips. A great resting spot and the surrounding open fields had deer coming and going about.

Owners were upgradinging rooms, outdoor patio area and it was really nice. The bed I slept in was great, it had memory foam and was very comfortable. The furniture in the rooms was new. They also had some outdoor games for the guests. I didnt use them, but saw corn hole as well as the giant jenga blocks. I stayed for close to a week and had them do laundry for me as well and it was very reasonably priced and delivered folded to my room.

It was very clean and well kept. We would definitely stay there again if ever in the area.

The air conditioning in our room didn’t work and even turning the heat completely off didn’t help. We were uncomfortably hot all night. It could have been user error but it was a basic unit that seemed pretty straightforward.

Our room had two queen beds. The motel is still rennovating outside. A young woman is the owner and she is making darling changes to the outside. She spaced railing around part of the parking area and was hanging rectangular pots from them with flowers starting (it was mid-May). She was an amazing jack-of-all-trades and made our stay special. It's is one of the old-time one floor motel with each room entered from the outside. We thought the price a tad high, but worth it.

I can't think of anything that would have made it better.

It was very clean and the seating outside the room was very cozy. My daughter enjoyed the sidewalk chalk left in our area.

Not being able to park near our rooms if we came back too late. Not a big issue though as the parking lot is small.

Motel that is retro Route 66! Largest tomatoe plants I ever seen growing in flower pots. (Way cool). Located in Eastern Wyoming in the middle of oil patch country. (Close to Badlands and Mt. Rushmore). Yes, the facility is dated, barren office, but don’t let that fool you. Room was very clean, hot water and even had triple plug ins to charge your phone and other devices. Price was right! Flowie and her staff get it done!
