Breakfast was biscuits and gravy eggs, waffles, cereal, and other choices. The fitness center was spectacular, and so was the Grazer's restaurant right next door. The room itself felt and smelled clean, and it was a great place in which to make oneself comfortable.
The only thing I would recommend is that there be more choices for fresh foods like vegetables or fruits for breakfast. The meal was mostly carbs with just a bit of protein.

We were really impressed with the cleanliness, comfort and spaciousness of our double queen room. It was perfect for our family of two adults, one child and one dog. It was also a great location for getting to Jewel Cave the next morning. Breakfast was very good too. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

We liked almost everything. Access was great. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was central for what we intended to do. The restaurant on site was good and the access to it was also good.
We had but two small complaints. The bathroom sink did not drain well and this needs to be addressed. Also the room did not have adequate lighting. At ages 75 an 74 there was not enough light. Only the bathroom was well lit. I told the woman at the service counter that even with all the lights turned on an owl would not be able to read in our living space.

The hotel was very comfortable and had a really nice structure despite being in a somewhat isolated place. We really enjoyed the attached restaurant and grabbed dinner there, it had a fair price and good food selection. The bed and shower were decent and the room was really clean. Breakfast was good.
There was quite a bit of sunlight coming into the bedroom in the morning. But overall not a lot to complain about.

the staff were wonderful. we had some unexpected difficulties traveling back home and our truck engine wouldn’t start right before check out and the let us hang out free of charge just until our truck was out of the shop since they had no upcoming reservations. so appreciated due to it being right before Christmas and the shop 307 auto charging unreasonably.

When I arrived the front counter was short one computer and two people seemed occupied with that issue The woman that checked me in was apologetic but clearly did not know how to navigate whatever technology situation they had going on! The room I had reserved was having air conditioning issues so I was moved to a lessor room with a working AC no change in price!! There seemed to be some struggle making my new reservation for this room but I was sent on my way with a room key to access my new room that wasn’t the executive king suit but still apparently has the same nightly rate!!!! I asked if I needed to check back in to make sure everything was handled but I was reassured that it would all be handled and not to worry. The next day: while touring the black hills on my motorcycle I received a voice mail from Kara asking why my luggage was still in my room! I returned the call and explained I had the reservation for two more nights the staff member seemed embarrassed that they had made a mistake… The next day: Again while riding my motorcycle in the black hills I get voicemail from Linda this time asking asking why my luggage was still in my room. Being a little annoyed I returned the call and explained again that I wasn’t checking out until the next morning. Linda asked how I made my reservation then went on to tell me how all of these issues were somehow my fault because I booked online with booking.com. If booking online causes this hotel so much trouble they need to stop allowing online booking and require a phone call to book. In the future I hope that Linda’s frustration with there hotel procedures don’t boil over during a conversation with a paying customer because at the end of the day all of the issues with my reservation were with the hotel itself and the online service I used to book the room and had little to nothing to do with me.
The on-site restaurant is a plus It’s proximity to all of the great motorcycle riding in the black hills of South Dakota

The nice staff and cleanliness of the room and all of the facilities was great! We were in town for the first time for a Father's Day event outside of town. I was very impressed with the hotel cleanliness (newness) and it also had an on-site grill cafe to eat supper two nights. I would definitely recommend it!
The first of 2 nights we were there, some VERY RUDE people across the hall were SO inconsiderate by letting their door SLAM SHUT MANY times later at night,. I was about to call the front desk but they began closing it a little more quietly. There wasn't enough space in the room to have a comfortable chair for sitting. It only had a desk chair.

We thought the breakfast was great! We were to late to take advantage of the pool, or the weight room. Remarkable facility. We also liked coming in a bit late and having the restaurant open and willing to serve whatever our needs. We also liked being able to come from the Badlands, down the eastern side of the Rapid City area, south thru Custer and over to our stop. It was a beautiful and peaceful journey despite all of the pre-Sturgis craziness. Thanks, Newcastle, for your quiet and peacefulness. Hope to be back some day!

The room we were given was very humid from the swimming pool once we turned on the air conditioner and lowed the heat it got the humidity out of the room. They may want to find a way to fix that before renting out room 139 again. Other than that we had an excellent stay beds were very comfortable food was A1.
